Remember, folks, when the Christers get food aid from big
organizations in Haiti like USAID, they sell most of it, and they give
a few grains of rice, but ONLY to members of their church, and they
preach hate speech against everyone else, saying that God wants those
other ones to starve. That's why we do Vodou Aid, and we give the
food to everyone, without regard to religious affiliation.

I just got off the phone with my petit fey, my congregants, who are
all gathered in my peristyle. I am happy to report that each and
every one of them survived the hurricane and none of them are sick at
this time, either. However, our herbalist and my significant other,
Loulou Prince, lost his father - his father was trying to cross a
little stream to come home, and all of a sudden the water came down
and he couldn't make it to the other side. Before the eyes of his
friends he was swept away to his death, and his body has never been
recovered. Surely it was carried into the river and out to sea.

All of the members of the Roots Without End Society cry Ayibobo! They
and I all thank every one of you who has been helping us.

Remember that the need still continues - http://vodouaid.org is ready
to receive your kind contributions and distribute them, without paying
any salary or overhead. Only the cost of sending the money to Haiti
comes out of the money we collect, the rest buys food.

This time, we were able to buy one large sack of beans, ten sacks of
rice, one very large pig, and the few remaining gourdes was used to
buy coffee, sugar and bread to sustain the hungry bellies of our
members while waiting for the pig to be butchered and cooked, along
with the rice and beans. Oh - and we bought some oil and salt to put
in the rice, and some garlic and pepper for the pork. And that was
the end of the money.

People came from all over, starting yesterday when we began the food
distribution. That pig didn't last very long! And they are still
there today - while I was on the phone I could here the buzzing of a
crowd, lauging and joking as they cooked a little pork they salted
down yesterday afternoon.

Again I thank you with all my heart, bowing very low before you. The
same Ayibobo my children shouted in chorus for me, is the same Ayibobo
I shout for you!

Peace and love,
Mambo Racine
