I thought I had asked this before, but I could not find it by searching
Google. If you can't find it there it must not exist. :-)
So this is my question, why does the christian and by extension mormon,
god require faith from it's followers? If man is given reason to
rationally decided between alternatives, what is the purpose of faith?

We're still not quite talking to each other.
To run with your example: of course "everything has mass" is meaningful.
However, someone talking about "horses that have mass", "bicycles that have
mass", and "mountains that have mass" seems redundant. The modifier "with
mass" isn't a useful description of a horse, because all horses have mass.

I agree. We should stop giving old people windfall benefits at taxpayer's

I agree, but with qualifications. My main gripe [and I've got plenty] is
