My boyfriend is a Mormon and I am a, well I really don't know what I am. I am
a mix of a Baptist and a Jehovah's Witness. I need a little information about
Mormons to understand or get an idea of what he believes.

Why don't you ask him? Why haven't you ask him before?
Do you talk with each other? What does "boyfriend" mean to
you? Do Baptists and/or Jehovah's Witnesses not talk to
"boyfriends"?

The best place to go is to the horses' mouth.

You can visit the LDS Church's website at www.lds.org.

After that, you may want to try attending some sacrament
meetings with your boydfriend, to get an idea of how
LDS worship.

And, if you are still interested, ask for the missionary
discussions.

A mix of Baptist and Jehovah's Witness? You have my
curiousity up. How do you reconcile the two?

A good starting point is a list of basic tenets we call the "Articles
of Faith" ...

We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son,
Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

We believe that men will be punished for their own sins,
and not for Adam's transgression.

We believe that through the atonement of Christ, all
mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and
ordinances of the Gospel.

We believe that the first principles and ordinances of
the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ;
second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the
remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the
gift of the Holy Ghost.

We believe that a man must be called of God, by
prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who
are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer
in the ordinances thereof.

We believe in the same organization that existed in
the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets,
pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy,
revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of
tongues, and so forth.

We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as
it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of
Mormon to be the word of God.

We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does
now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many
great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of
God.

We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in
the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New
Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent;
that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and,
that the earth will be renewed and receive its
paradisiacal glory.

We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God
according to the dictates of our own conscience, and
allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how,
where, or what they may.

We believe in being subject to kings, presidents,
rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and
sustaining the law.

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent,
virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may
say that we follow the admonition of Paul - We believe
all things, we hope all things, we have endured many
things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If
there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report
or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Hope this helps!

Best Regards,

Please log on to www.mrm.org
they will give you a lot of info about Mormonism that your boyfriend
probably does not know.

Can be real bad juju. Baptist and Mormon are sufficiently alike in
many ways, that the differences become competitive and often
contentious.

Seventh-Day Adventist, on the other hand, gets along wonderfully well
with Mormon and at times are extraordinarily generous -- a Seventh-Day
Adventist chapel in Hawaii (town of Aiea if I remember) was used for a
time by LDS on Sunday while the Aiea ward was being built.

Most of it is FALSE, but that never stops the anti-Gospel crowd from trying.
They are, after all, in the business of bigotry and hatred, which is why
Judas responded to an honest request for info with deception.

Why don't you ask him? He would probably put you in touch with those who can
explain in a few short conversations the basic beliefs of the Church of JESUS
CHRIST of Latter-day Saints (the real name of the Mormon church). Since he is a
"boy friend" he may not be as grounded in the Church as he would like to be. That
is why he could put you in touch with his parents, Bishop, or others who can answer
your question.
One caution, when one wants to know about farming, they rarely go to an
accountant to find out. Go to the representatives of the Church so they can give
you the truth about what they believe. You then decide for yourself.

I would find using a decidedly anti-lds websight as my sole sorce of
information about what your boyfriend believes to be dubious at best. I'd
say it would be somewhat comparable to me tracking down your enemy to "get
to know you". More than likely the best way to learn more is to attend a
few meetings, talk to some of the people in the church, etc. Just as you
would any other church.

There is too much to say. Just talk to him. After all communication is
the key to any relationship.

The best thing you can do is ask him to be with you as you both invite some
missionaries over for a discussion. The missionaries bring over such a
strong spirit and they'll make it easier for both of you.
GOOD LUCK
