I still see a few people here although most are on Facebook ark. WTF!
I forget how long it’s been since I came here last so I’ll try and encapsulate.
Taffy and Carmine are no more but we have an Abby now.

I’ve been working hard on getting a titanium body because this one is falling apart. So far I’ve two wrist braces for CTS and lots of lovely rods and screws in my back from 3 surgeries, the last one because I got rear ended while sitting at a stop light minding my own business. This has encourged me to start minding the business of others. [It's exhausting but if it wards off injuries the world will just have to get used to my new busybody ways.]

I was teaching special education but now I can’t.

We have a bus and have been traveling around. Our exploits and adventures can be seen here:
https://bigpurplebus.wordpress.com/

When I’m not doing that I do this: https://textiletreasures.wordpress.com

Alsotooplus I am on facebook as Terri Whateverfor in case you decide to join, and also because I just read that google news groups is going away 4Ever.

Oh, sorry to hear, and congrats in order.

We have Shova-dog and Orlin-dog, both from the Phoenix animal
shelter. Really nice guys, and they much prefer the Pacific Northwet
to Arizona. Also we have Monster Child; a stray cat who decided to let
us live with her.

So when will you start calling yourself "Titanium Terri"?

And I agree, it is necessary to mind the business of others in
traffic, which is why I despise low-slung vehicles from which you
can't see what those bozos four and five cars away are about to get up
to.

> I was teaching special education but now I can’t.

Several rude potential explanations for that come to mind but since
you're a Legend in some arkers' minds I'll keep them to myself. Also
the older I get the less I mind collecting new friends.

You donut have to *buy* lye:

http://www.motherearthnews.com/homesteading-and-livestock/how-to-make-soap-from-ashes-zmaz72jfzfre.aspx#axzz2SSjwZHMb

http://tinyurl.com/d6mx9qj

I remember first learning this from teh Beverly Hillbillies TV show
back when everything was black and white. Subsequent research showed
it not to be typical Hollywood BS.

You appear to be handy with stuff like barrels and chemistry so you
shouldn't have any trouble. I suppose it will be easier to do between
Big Burple Bus trips.

Nah, the *old* Google groups interface is going away, and the *new*
interface will replace it forever. Sadly the new is nearly unusable,
but fortunately I still have Thunderbird installed + an Eternal
September account.

Well, I kind of do. I want clean chemicals. People have some odd
reluctance to put lye made from cow poop on their faces. AT these
times they don't seem to appreciate the fragrance of nature.
I don't know what their problem is.

Actually, no ruminant doots are involved- you just pour rain water
through hardwood ashes. The water extracts NaOH from the ashes and you
collect it in a cast iron pot, which you boil until it floats an egg
(DO NOT EAT THE EGG). In another cast iron kettle you have already
rendered down some beef or pork fat to get lard (or you can buy it as
it's not a controlled substance- yet). You slowly add the NaOH to the
lard and heat to a simmer until you get soap, which you pour into a
prepared mold.

The link has all the relevant proportions and stuff. It's Mother
Earth so it's fairly reliable.

<grump>

I came here to ark because it's populated by my sort of wackos. The
kind of class clown I was, who see teh funny in everything even if
they have to turn their heads inside-out to get the appropriate
perspective. Some don't have to work as hard at it as others, but I
digress.

Today I was diagnosed with sciatica. I've already accumulated
arthritis in my hands and feet, kidney stones, a hairline with a
visible redshift, and GREY PUBES.

Introductions may indeed be necessary for some of us since kibology
membership is not time-invariant.

There's this:

http://wikibology.wikispaces.com/Kibologists

but if you've met one kibologist you haven't met them all. I'm
beginning to suspect I may not live long enough to meet all of them.
I'm feeling MORTAL for fuck's sake and I don't much like it.

</grump>

You already know that Leah is on facebook but what you may not know is that
our esteemed Mr. Lenort is now a family of four, with youngest born just last week. Two girls!
My grandurchin will be 9 YEARS this month! So donut talk to me about decrepitude & old.

> Soooo, Terri; what are you drinking/smoking/otherwise ingesting?

Narcotics and Flexeril. I don't know the right kind of people for the smoking, I'm afraid.

I doubt it would help though. I just got on narcotics once more on acount of tramadol doesn't work for me. It's a shame that I don't enjoy drugs more since these opiate based stuff works pretty well for pain.

-True Morphine Story-
Surgery number 1 was 5 hours long with lots of blood lost, plus I got nicked & the spinal fluid leakage was causing migraines when I'd try to get up. So for 5 days in the hospital I had all the morphine I wanted as long as I could stay awake long enough to push the "at will" button.
I figured out the delay time I had to wait before I could push it again but I never made it past the 3rd morphine delivery before I passed out and then had to start all over again, so I have no idea how much I was getting in my IV each time but it must have been a lot, because I had morphine hallucinations. Some people see flames and others have unpleasant experiences with morphine but I am a true kibologist because: I had hallucinations that there were big bugs flying all over the ceiling of my room, and they were all wearing glasses. Great big, round, black nerdy looking glasses and wearing white lace up shoes. IANMTU. They kind of looked like that bee that floats around in the Honey Nut Cheerio commerical.

This makes me think Ernie Kovacs should have made the fly. Except he
makes the switch in the beginning and Ernie-head/fly-body spends the
rest of the movie avoiding mallet-wielding monkeys by flying through the
hole in Patricia Owens' forehead. I guess fly-head/Ernie-body would try
to figure out how to smoke a cigar.

I, er, may have meant to type "Lisa Pea" there. The combined AWESOME may have
temporarily overloaded my Hivemind connection. Pay no attention to the smell

Are you now unaware of all Internet Traditions, too?
