Whether you love him or hate him, you can hang this portrait on the wall -
it makes for an excellent conversation piece.

LOL! It looks like people are really rushing to buy! You've got a
whopping zero bids! Maybe next time you ought to make a memorial
honoring those bin Laden's filth killed in the Africa embassy
bombings. People would probably buy something like that. You might as
well paint a portrait of Hitler and expect people to buy it.

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a
world without hate. And I can picture us attacking
that world, because they'd never expect it.

I certainly will take both suggestions under advisement. If you have
specific suggestions of what the memorials should look like, send me an
email.

Unfortunately, the most likely customers for such a work would be neo-Nazis,
and they are not capable of appreciating art. I would rather not deal with
them.
But the horror that most people feel at the very idea of painting Hitler
puzzles me. Adolf Hitler was a rather nasty dude, and I would not want him
in my house. But how can some cloth with acrylic on it be evil?

Is this from "Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy (sp?)"?

True. The most likely customers WOULD be neo-Nazis. Just like the
most likely customers for a bin Laden painting would be the kinds of
people who chant "Death to America" and supported the bombing of the US
embassies in Africa. I find it amazing that bin Laden would kill
hundreds of Africans, only to kill a handful of Americans.

Well, I think its just the whole idea that painting someone seems to be
a flattery of sorts. Unless you do it in a manner that is distinctly
villifying. If I walked into someone's house with a painting of bin
Laden hanging by the mantle, I would seriously wonder about the company
I was in.

I imagine the locally engaged workers would be in the less fortified
sections of the embassy.

Ideally a portrait should mirror the viewer, not the model - but this is
true of all good art. So if you hate bin Laden, you should see a twisted
caricature, if you adore him, you should see a man of deep, abiding faith
and great personal integrity. I do not know to what extent, if any, I
succeeded in this.
But surely it is possible that the owner of the painting really hates bin
Laden and just wants to remind himself regularly just how much he hates him?
In any case, the painting does not hang over my mantlepiece. If I had a
mantlepiece I would probably hang "Inmate of an Asylum" or "Mister Rogers'
Secret Foot Fetish" by the highly talented Nik Maack over it - see
