----
36. 1: C3943. Some Commentators take Ya to be the vocative
particle, and Sin to be the abbreviation of Insan, Sin being the only
"Firm Letter" in the word. In that case it would be an address to man.
"O man!" But "man" in this connection is understood to mean the Leader
of man, the noblest of mankind. Muhammad the Prophet of Allah. For
this Sura deals mainly with the holy Prophet and his Message. Ya-Sin
is usually treated as a title of the holy Prophet. Yusuf Ali's
Commentary from QuranTrans
----
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 36:1]
This surah is devoted to the Holy Prophet and the revelation which was
revealed to him. This surah is considered to be "the heart of the
Quran". Generally Ya Sin is said to be an abbreviation of "0 man!"
Even if it is true it refers to the "perfect man", the leader of men,
sent by Allah to guide man in all ages, the Holy Prophet.
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 4:174]
Aqa Mahdi Puya says:
Nuram mubina (a manifest light) is similar to imamum mubin in verse 12
of Ya Sin.

salamun alaykum and ya ali madad
what does the above [surah fatihah 1:3-5] mean in the qur'anic context
only? please note that all muslims, regardless of their caste or creed
-- have been commanded to PRAY daily like so.
at the same time, most muslims believe the said commandment is very
clear in its purport and that they should look no further for any
other guidance that allah might have given in this regards. rather,
they must follow it to the letter as well pray, 'THEE WE ASK FOR HELP'
-- as exhorted.
despite these glaring facts and the muslim tradition and practice
thereof for over 14 centuries, this is not the complete story --
because elsewhere in the holy qur'an allah also says the following in
some dire words, which can not be taken too lightly:
important exhortation
15:86. Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator.
15:87. We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the

in view of allah's explicit guidance and powerful warning just cited,
it is only fair to say that one must follow allah's given criteria and
not some farfetched ahadith that were written some 250 years after the
holy prophet's [sas] worldly mission and life on earth.
most of these ahadith, as you know are said to be spurious. even the
likes of muslim and bukhari have discarded a good chunk of them. and
frankly, the ones that have been accepted as genuine -- contradict the
holy qur'an itself. unfortunately, this is a common dilemma faced by
the promoters and followers of the hadithic tradition since its
invention/fabrication several centuries ago.

----
please note how it grieved the holy prophet [sas] because most of his
followers did not believe in the DIVINE HADIS namely, the holy qur'an.
and as such, allah challenged them as above.
and more importantly, allah says that -- Allah and HIS REVELATIONS are
hadis. therefore, there could be nothing greater in islam AFTER Allah
and HIS REVELATIONS, meaning the holy qur'an and the holy imams

please take time to study and review the above qur'anic texts as they
contain the 'essence of islam' in its entirety.
'a mighty kingdom -- mulkan aziima' -- mentioned above -- is a very
difficult phrase to grapple with.
seriously speaking, how do we translate the word 'aziima' when this
is also allah's name as well, associated with him and his total and
absolute revelations in islam -- in one form or the other? see for
example:

Aqa Mahdi Puya says:
Amr ibn As, an avowed enemy of Ali, once said:
"Ali is the naba-il azim. He is the babullah (the door through which
one enters into the realm of the realisation of Allah)."
Naba-il azim (the great news) here and in verse 67 of Sad, refers to
the vicegerency of man to represent Allah on the earth in order to
exercise authority on His behalf, i.e. imamah or wilayah.
Hafiz Abu Nu-aym in Hilyatul Awliya says that the Holy Prophet told
his companions: "Naba-il-azim (the great news) refers to the wilayah
of Ali ibn abi Talib."

dhibhin azim -- sacrifice azim
37:107. And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: --
Wafadaynahu bithibhin AZIIM
[37.107:
C4103. The adjective qualifying "sacrifice" here, 'azim, (great,
momentous) may be understood both in a literal and a figurative sense.
... The figurative sense is even more important. It was indeed a great
and momentous occasion, when two men, with concerted will, "ranged
themselves in the ranks" of those to whom self-sacrifice in the
service of Allah was the supreme thing in life. Yusuf Ali's Commentary
from QuranTrans
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 37:107]
In verse 107 the sacrifice with which Ismail was ransomed is described
as great [dhibhin azim] by Allah, therefore it must be great in
absolute degree. ... moreover under no circumstances a ram can be
greater than Ismail son of Ibrahim, both the most distinguished
prophets of Allah, in whose progeny Allah had appointed His divinely
commissioned Imams (see commentary of Baqarah : 124). The ransom,
therefore, is essentially a great sacrifice Allah had kept in store
for future when the religion of Allah would be perfected and completed
after the advent of the Holy Prophet.
This type of service Imam Husayn performed, many ages later, in 60
A.H., and as he was a descendant of Ibrahim and Ismail the credit of
"the great sacrifice" goes to them also. For the great sacrifice of
Imam Husayn read the biography of Imam Husayn published by our Trust,
a close study of which makes clear that his sacrifice has been rightly
mentioned as dhibhin azim in this verse.
Aqa Mahdi Puya says:
Shah Wali-ullah, in Sirrush Shahadaytan, and many other well known
authors of traditions and history have accepted the fact that dhibhin
azim refers to the sacrifice of Imam Husayn.

significance of the 'mulkan aziima, naba-il azim' 'dhibhin--sacrfice

having said that, the mighty kingdom [mulkan aziima] and
command--HUKMAH mentioned herein translate into the holy IMAMATE --
which allah had revealed in succession to the nabbuwah-- prophethood.
for all practical purposes, it was the divine repository -- for all
things divine that allah had revealed for mankind and muslims alike.
and as such, mankind in general and muslims in particular have been
commanded to follow 'THEIR GUIDANCE, which per se, was further
eternalized like so, 'With some of their forefathers and their
offspring and their brethren; and We chose them and guided them unto a
straight path--SIRAATIM MUSTAQIIM.'
in other words:
THIS HOLY IMAMATE WAS ETERNALIZED AS WERE THE HOLY QUR'AN & the
straight path--SIRAATIM MUSTAQIIM -- SIRATAL LADHINA' THE PATH OF
THOSE -- in the house of abraham [pbuth] ONLY -- AND THESE HAVE BEEN
JOINED TOGETHER BY ALLAH.
they cannot be severed from each other and/or FROM ALLAH under any
circumstances except what allah will.
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 1:7]
SIRATAL LADHINA AN-AMTA ALAYHIM
the meaning of this verse, in the light of other verses, is that to be
guided aright, one should, in the absence of the holy prophet, follow
ali, and the divinely chosen genuine guides among his progeny, because
while departing from this world the Holy Prophet gave his last and
final guidance to all his followers, for all times:
I will soon be called back, so I will have to go away from you, but I
leave behind, among you, the thaqalayn (two weighty indispensable
influential authorities), the book of Allah and my Ahl ul Bayt. Should
you be attached to these two, never, never shall you go astray, after
me, for verily these two will never be separated from each other; and,
joined together, they shall meet me at kawthar.
The Holy Prophet and the Holy Imams are the models.
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 10:35]
(2) Ibn Asakir from Ibn Abbas says: "There has not been revealed in
the book of Allah, the Quran, regarding any one what has been revealed
concerning Ali and that 300 verses have been revealed concerning Ali."
(5) Tabarani relates in Awsat that Ummi Salmah narrated: 'I heard the
Holy Prophet say: "Ali is with Quran and Quran is with Ali, they shall
not be separated until they arrive at the fountain of Kawthar in
paradise."
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 73:5] Qawlan thaqila, (weighty word)
is the Quran. The Holy Prophet has used the word thaqalayn to refer to
the Quran and his Ahl ul Bayt-two weighty things. Refer to page 6, and
commentary of Baqarah: 2 and Ya Sin: 12.
----
despite these qur'anic AND hadithic facts recorded by the shias and
sunnis scholars alike -- most muslims have still turned to some
man-made -- spurious ahadith for gudance as follows:
man-made -- spurious ahadith
In fact, it is difficult, in spite of the Muslim "science" of
Hadith to know which traditions are strong or weak! For example,
Bukhari collected over 600,000 reports, but kept only 7,397 as true!

Considers five verses from the Qur'an and the contradictory hadiths on
their circumstances of revelation from the asbab al-nuzul genre. Based
on an analysis of the contents of these reports, he concludes: "it has
become clear that the creation of spurious reports of the
circumstances of revelation must have been common among a group of
unscrupulous transmitters. Based on their personal tastes, sectarian
tendencies, political interests, or other motives, they fabricated and
disseminated reports of the circumstances of Qur'anic revelations. -BS

Maudu'
Al-Dhahabi defines maudu' (fabricated, forged) as the term applied to
a hadith, the text of which goes against the established norms of the
Prophet's sayings (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), or its
reporters include a liar, e.g. the forty ahadith known as Wad'aniyyah
or the small collection of ahadith which was fabricated and claimed to
have been reported by 'Ali al-Rida, the eighth Imam of the Ithna
'Ashari Shi'ah.78
A number of traditionists have collected fabricated ahadith separately
in order to distinguish them from other ahadith; among them are Ibn
al-Jauzi in al-Maudu'at, al-Jauzaqani in Kitab al-Abatil, al-Suyuti in
al-La'ali al- Masnu'ah fi 'l-Ahadith al-Maudu'ah, and 'Ali al- Qari in
al-Maudu'at.
Some of these ahadith were known to be spurious by the confession of
their inventors. For example, Muhammad b. Sa'id al-Maslub used to say,
"It is not wrong to fabricate an isnad for a sound statement."79
Another notorious inventor, 'Abd al-Karim Abu 'l-Auja, who was killed
and crucified by Muhammad b. Sulaiman b. 'Ali, governor of Basrah,
admitted that he had fabricated four thousand ahadith declaring lawful
the prohibited and vice-versa.80
-------
the above is self-explanatory.
on the other hand, if we follow that divine exhortation during the
holy month of ramadhan insha'allaah allah will, out of his infinite
grace and mercy grant us wisdom and guide us to the truth on sirataal
MUSTAQIIM--the straight path.
let us turn to a very important matter in islam.
Ba of Bismillah - The essence of the Quran
now, how closely was/IS hzt. ali [as] related to a muslim's faith,
especially with regards to his daily performance of prayers,
irrespective of his belief or disbelief in him as his imam [pbuh] or
the first imam--priest of the muslim ummah -- formed by the holy
prophet [sas] himself?
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 1:1]
It is said that al Fatihah is the quintessence of the Quran, and
bismillahir rahmanir rahim is the essence of al Fatihah, and the
letter ba of bismillah is the embodiment of bismillahir rahmanir
rahim, and the dot below the first letter ba of bismillah is the
spirit of the first verse.
Ali, son of Abu Talib, the first of the holy Imams, had said:
"I am the dot below the ba of bismillah"
which means that to Ali has been entrusted the whole of the book and
its true exposition, .... The statement of Ali is testified by the
well-known and universally accepted declaration (hadith) of the Holy
Prophet.
[Pooya/Ali Commentary 2:25]

----
so, asking for this DIVINE help daily -- as in 'ya ali madad--o ali
help' -- at that 'hour in the morning' -- was/is in fact:
i. part of allah's daily worship;
ii. the holy prophet's [sas] daily practice;
iii. the holy qur'an and islam, simultaneously.
iv. it is allah's irrevocable command as it stands today.
v. it was/is the DIVINE truth --
which the holy prophet [sas] and the believers had been exhorted to
follow each and every day of their lives. hence, how relevant is this
qur'anic guidance in a muslim's faith and practice today? think about
it.
on the other hand, this is not an innovation in the current
dispensation of islam. rather, that had been allah's way of guiding
from before.
Genesis 49:25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee;
and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven
above, Chronicles II 20:4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to
ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to
seek the LORD.
bhagavad gita -- purport: Chapter 1 TEXT 20: Now both Rama and
Hanuman were present on the chariot of Arjuna to help him. Lord
Krishna is Rama Himself, and wherever Lord Rama is, His eternal
servitor Hanuman and His eternal consort Sita, the goddess of fortune,
are present. Therefore, Arjuna had no cause to fear any enemies
whatsoever. And above all, the Lord of the senses, Lord Krishna, was
personally present to give him direction.
---
and as such, what is the lesson therein?
please think, reflect, contemplate and meditate on the above namely,
*the TRUTH--al-haqqu* and then answer the following questions?
1. why did allah command the holy prophet [sas] and muslims to pray
as above [17:77-82] and also ask for *HIS HELP * namely, *THE
POWERFUL HELPER FROM HIS PRESENCE* and NOT as per the surah
al-fatihah, which is essentially a different mode of invocation --
originally prescribed by him?
2. the help sought after at the surah al-fatihah seems to be a more
direct approach as well, addressed directly to allah -- and yet
elsewhere, muslims have been asked to change that approach altogether.
3. hence, why the DAILY DETOUR at this juncture?
4. how, when and where did this significant change occur in islam
per se?
surely, this happened during its revelation and the holy prophet's
[sas] mission and practice and certainly NOT AFTERWARDS. as a matter
of fact, it was an intrinsic part of islam's perfection and completion
of allah's favors therein [HQ: 5:3].
5. on the other hand, what would/could have been its total impact
-- both pro & con -- on the holy prophet's [sas] 23 year-old practice
and mission at this juncture -- almost 3 months before the end of his
mission and life on earth?
6. so, what should be its direct consequence, integral relevance,
relationship and significance to islam and a muslim's life and
practice of his faith?
says allah:
15:94. So proclaim BIMAA--HE WHO --- that which thou art
commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 15:95. Lo! We defend thee
from the scoffers,
005.067 O Messenger! Make known MAA -- HE WHO -- that which hath
been revealed unto thee from thy Lord, for if thou do it not, thou
wilt not have conveyed His message. Allah will protect thee from
mankind. Lo! Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk.
-----
having said that, let's turn to the matter from which arose most of
the issues just cited.
ORIGIN: major DAILY DETOUR --
------> beginning at surah al-fatihah ------>
to SIRATAAL MUSTAQIIM -via- SIRATAL-LADHINA
rest assured, a proper study and understanding of the holy qu'ran will
show that 'SIRATAAL MUSTAQIIM -- THE STRAIGHT PATH' -- is in fact
attained only through 'SIRATAAL-LADHINA --THE PATH OF THOSE' and NOT
otherwise.
so, this in and of itself is not only a great mystery but also it is
an all important major DAILY DETOUR beginning at surah al-fatihah
itself.
7. in other words, no one will be able to attain the siraatal
mustaqiim--straight path on his/her own.
meaning:
each and every muslim, regardless must take this DAILY DETOUR namely,
'SIRATAL-LADHIINA' -- as did the holy prophet and messenger of allah
[sas] and all the prophets and messengers [pbuth] of allah before him.
PROOF:
Say: Allah speaketh truth ----- He said: The Truth is, and the Truth I

-----
please search the holy qur'an and see why allah considered hzt.
abraham [as] as an 'upright--hanif' muslim, prophet, imam and a friend
of allah? surely, he [abraham] knew something that others did not.
what did he know? insha'allaah an intellectual and faithful study of
the holy qur'an will reveal that. here's some food for thought.

Genesis 18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his
household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice
and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken
of him.
