There are literally hundreds of different God beliefs.
1.. There is NO objective verifiable evidence that any of them actually
exist.
2.. Any REAL God would communicate directly from his Heaven, his wishes

3.. If there was a REAL God he would smite and destroy all the fakes to
prevent his flock from being deceived.

At least his big toe actually exists.
God has already communicated to us about his wishes and commands thru
his son Jesus Christ. God also already told the people in the old
testament that he is the only God. He created the heavens, the earth
and you.

How can anyone prove to you God exists when you already have your idea
of what he should be?
God Bless.
Ergo, not a god.
This is only evidence of your idiocy - nothing more!
And what is your objective verifiable evidence for this nonsensical claim???

Certainly not just by asserting there is such a thing.
Feel free to explain why.

Well, you believe your left big toe is a god. Don't blame me.
He probably considers it divine to boot. Oops - pardon the pun.
This God is just a Stub. Please feel free to expand on it.
Of course this now explains why everyone invokes gods when they kick
their big toe.
I reckon if we keep this up for another month we can have a well

A faulty and imperfect "God" as described in the Bible cannot exist
because that "God" would be fallible and incapable of creating
the universe and life. Any entity reduced to quibbling with a
woman over a stupid apple would have less effect then a an incantation
from an African witch doctor.
A perfect and all knowing "God" cannot exist, because we live in a
faulty, randomly generated, imperfect universe. If it had been created
a perfect "God", it would be totaly different environment. A real
nightmare, I would imagine.
The answer: Natural process !! It just takes time. Lots of time.

Since we have proven the non-existence of "God" in the above argument,
we have removed ANY kind of "God" from the realm of possiblities.

Nice job relegating gods, especially those of the Bible, Koran, and so
forth to simple idolatry. I'm sure the Christians really love that.

Right. One would think that a god who created everything would have a few

time in the past?

The God as defined by Christians supposedly loves us and wants us to believe
in him, yet no objective evidence is provided for his existence. There
really is no rational reason to believe in that god.

That some have a concept of "god," or a need, or benefit from, has
nothing to do with whether any deities exist; all of those situations
can occur in the absence of deities. Indeed, it seems obvious that's
exactly the arrangement now.

Pastor Frank
"GOD" THE CHRISTIAN MEANING OF THE WORD ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE:
The word "God" is not a proper name but a title of a position of
whatever is your standard of virtue and ideal of perfection against
which you measure all behaviour. (Jesus in Matthew. 5:48)
I.e. In 2 Corinthians 4:4, Paul says that Satan is: "...the god (theos) of
this world", i.e. reality. And again in Philippians 3:19, Paul says there
are people: "...whose God (theos) is their belly", i.e. pleasure. Jesus
tells us in Jn:4:24 that His "GOD IS A SPIRIT", (i.e. akin to a quality of
attitude, like love and care which imbues a person), and "they that worship
him must worship him in spirit and in truth." Jesus explains further in John
14:6-10: Jesus saith unto him: "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no
man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have
known my Father also, and from henceforth YE KNOW HIM AND HAVE SEEN HIM."
Philip saith unto him: "Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us."
Jesus saith unto him: "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast
thou not known me, Philip? HE THAT HAS SEEN ME HATH SEEN THE FATHER;
and how sayest thou then: Show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am
in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak
not of myself, but the FATHER THAT DWELLETH IN ME, HE DOETH THE WORKS."
Jesus in Jn:10:30: I and my Father are one.
Jesus in John 12:44-46`Then Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes
in me, believes not in me but in Him who sent me. And he who sees me sees
Him who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever
believes in me should not abide in darkness."
Jesus in Lk 17:20-21: And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when
the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said: "The kingdom of
God cometh not with observation. Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo
there! For, behold, the kingdom of GOD IS WITHIN YOU."
1Jn:4:8: He that LOVETH not, knoweth not God; for GOD IS LOVE.
1Jn:4:16: And we have known and believed the LOVE that God hath to us.
GOD IS LOVE; and he that dwelleth in LOVE dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Jesus in Jn:13:34: A new commandment I give unto you, That ye LOVE one
another; as I have LOVED you, that ye also LOVE one another.
Jesus in Jn:13:35: By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples,
if ye have LOVE one to another.
Jesus in Jn:15:12-13: This is my commandment: That ye LOVE one another,
as I have LOVED you. Greater LOVE hath no man than this, that a man lay down
his life for his friends.
Acts:17:28: For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain
also of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring.
Proverbs 10:22 God is nearer than our own soul, closer than our most
secret thoughts.
Heb:1:8: But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and
ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

myth
n noun
1 a traditional story concerning the early history of a people
or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving
supernatural beings or events.
2 a widely held but false belief. Øa fictitious person or thing.
Øan exaggerated or idealized conception of a person or thing.
DERIVATIVES
mythic adjective

mythically adverb
ORIGIN
C19 (earlier (C17) as mythic): from modern Latin mythus, via
late Latin from Greek muthos.
======
Yes, looks like god is a myth.

Bob.
I did not claim it to be evidence. I was just pointing out there
there is a lot about the world that we do not know. People used to
believe the sun revolved around the earth. Just because humanity
lacked the "evidence" to prove otherwise did not mean it was a correct
hypothesis. It is foolish to make a definitive argument on either
side of this argument because there is too much we don't know. By
choosing one side to defend, it sends out freaks like
christianscience.org to set up experiments stacked in the favor of
finding the answer that they want.
There's no "either side". Just believers who keep brining up their
doctrinal presumptions outside their religion with no justification
whatsoever.
Demands for evidence/proof/etc are because they beg questions. Which
they never answer, instead resorting to all sorts of dishonest copouts
which I doubt even fool them.

In that case being an atheist is the most rational position to take. Thank
you for pointing that out.
If your own father makes himself known to you does that weaken your
"individual soverign will" in any way?
No, you say religion is about love and assorted other spiritual crap.
But what we see is religion is about dogma, and twisting the ideas of
love etc.
And again with the falacy of proving a negative.
But even if we concede a mystical/spiritual existence, it bears no
relevance to your christian BS. Clearly the mythical christian BS is
about fear, hate, and guilt, wrapped up in pseudo-moralistic language
and attempting to claim responsibility for everything it's not
responsible, like love and peace.

You obviouslly don't understand logic.

100,000,000 is the damaged condition.
If God did "communicate directly from his Heaven" none of us would have any
choice other than to go along with His agenda. That is, none of us would
have any sovereign will. We would, in effect, all be nothing more than God's
puppets. Do you think this is what God wants?

possibility and perhaps advantages of going a different way than following
God's will. Lucifer's curiosity overwhelmed him, and he was increasingly
motivated to explore this set of possibilities.
God could have deleted Lucifer, or limited his abilities in exploring these
matters, but that would not have resolved the problem. It would surely have
been only a matter of time before another being reached the same point and
that being would then have to have been eliminated or restricted. This
process would have continued until all of God's created beings were
eliminated or restricted. This would not permit any of us to have sovereign
will.
So, God chose to let Lucifer explore this realm and let us all go along with
Lucifer in the exploration/learning phase of our development. The first two
chapters of the book of Job gives an allegorical insight into this.
The bottom line is that we must/will all learn enough about sin and
rebellion to insure that none of us will ever want to go back and explore it
any further, once we've been granted immortality and absolute sovereignty.
At this level of our development we shall all do the exact will of God, not
because of being restricted or intimidated into complinace, but because we
will then have enough understanding to put us into a position where our
sovereign will shall be exactly and precisely the same as God's will.

Only if the atheist goes as far as not believing in any god said to be
real by others. If the atheist takes the next step to definitively
say that there is no god, that is just as irrational as claiming god
exists.
Stupid bullshit.
Why is it so hard to grasp that all an atheist is, is somebody who
isn't theist?
Why is it so hard to grasp that even for the few atheists who simply
"believe" there is no god, it's in exactly the same vein as "there
ain't no Santa Claus"?
In your mind, is believing leprechauns exist, equivalent but opposite
to "believing" they don't?
Why should gods be any different?
What the majority of atheists who say there's no god, do is
unconsciously use Popperian falsifiability: there isn't one, pending
evidence that there is.
Which theists and agnostics apply to everything else anyway.
There is no symmetry between theism and atheism except in the deluded
fantasies of theists who can't think outside the box, and those
agnostics who have fallen for the theist's misrepresentation of
atheists.
However as a simple abstract logic exercise, most gods disprove
themselves because the theists who wipe their beliefs in our faces,
insist on mutually conflicting attributes, or attributes contradicted
by reality.
For example it doesn't matter what other attributes, claims etc they
make about it, anding it with zero by insisting it caused a flood that
never happened, reduces the whole thing to zero.
Logic, not faith.
My own carnal father was far from almighty, and far from perfect. I did
disagree with him on numerous occasions, but I'm quite sure I could not in
any way justify disagreeing with God, face to face, or even behind his back,
if that were possible. Gordon
Similarly, have you, or has anyone else fully explored and empirically
tested the hypothesis that God exists? If indeed such empirical testing
could be accomplished, would any of us then have anything approximating
sovereign will?
Is it rational to think that God is being evasive for the primary purpose of
allowing us to have a reasonable degree of sovereign will, so we can follow
Lucifer/Satan's process of exploring all the vagaries of sin and rebellion?
The biblical book of Job, chapters 1 & 2, seem to convey this idea in an
allegorical way. Gordon
Not bullshit. You just read into the statement and assumed that I
assumed the latter represented all or most atheists. I would say it
represents the vocal majority of atheists on discussion boards such as
these, however. Do you typically call things you agree with bullshit?

Better to worship a visible toe than a hypocritical, invisble entity thingy
that sits in the sky loving us all all the time as a bus load of children
crash into flames.
Better to worship a big toe than some daft, invisible thing that states if
you don't believe in him you will get eternal damnation.
Better to worship a big toe than an obect (invisible creator obJect that
tells people to sacrifice their son on a hilltop, apparently as some kind of
childish test).
Better to worship a big toe than a creator who destroys most of his creation
by flooding the whole world.
Better to worship a big toe than worshipping a leader who tells people thou
shalt not steal, but soon after that tells the Jews to steal the land of the
Philistines.
Better to worship a big toe than worshipping a monster who then tells people
to steal people's land, murder the occupants and then promise them the land
which will still be theirs 2 thousand years later, causing world unrest,
dis-ease - oh, and allows them to have nuclear weapons :-)
Better to worship a big toe than worship some thing that, apparently, told
George Bush to invade Iraq because there was weapons of mass destruction
there, but failed to tell him there was actually no weapons of mass
destruction there.
Better to worship a big toe than a father who allows his son to be
crucified, apparently to save the sins of some people. Apparently this
omnipotent genius wasn't smart enough to think of anything more satisfactory
than having his son @sacrificed@ on a cross.
I could go on if you want ... So stop fucking believing in invisible sky
fairies and get a life !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why are you Christians so nasty and why do you never supply objective
verifiable evidence to
support your beleifs and claims???
Your fictional desertation, like your God, makes no sense. Get a different

Inapplicable to Deism (which proposes the creation of a clockwork
Universe which merely follows the instructions built into its
creation) and to PanDeism (which proposes that the creator becomes the
Universe, which merely follows the instructions built into its
creation).
Which is not atheism but a position an individual holds who also happens to
be an atheist. Since atheism is merely lack of belief in any god, my point
still stands.
It does not represent the majority of atheists who post to alt.atheism.
Even if it did it would be something in addition to their atheism. Even if
it were true it would be just as relevant as saying that most atheists
posting to alt.atheism are Americans.
The analogy holds. Your father makes himself known to you. You now know
that he exists. God makes himself known to you. You now know that he
exists. How does either event lessen your "individual soverignty"? In
short how does knowing anything is true lessen it?
Why do you think that knowing something is true takes away your free will?

Will your big toe offer you eternal salvation?
Duh??? Your opinion is noted.
