Hey all! This might sound a bit hokey to you, but it's bothering me, so
here
goes:
I would just like to pick some brains as to why lights keep going off
whenever
me and/or a certain few of my friends are near. Usually they are street
lights
and it's usually only one at a time (as opposed to the entire bank of
lights),
that turn off when we walk or drive past them. I would think that it's
not such
a big deal if it only happened once in a while, but this happens to us a
lot AND
on average, about three lights turn off throughout the night.
Another little twist to the story (which may just be an incredible
fluke!) is
that on Monday night, a friend and I were driving down a street that
already had
a bank of lights off. I pointed this out to my friend and commented
that
wouldn't it be cool if I could get them to turn on? So I started saying
(jokingly) "Turn on Lights! Turn on!" and, it freaked the shit out of
us, but
they turned on......
Sooooo..... I'm just wondering if this happens to anyone else out there,
and
what you all think is going on???? It's been happening to us for about
the past
2 years, and I figure it wouldn't hurt to see if anyone has any idea
what is
going on!

Responses would be RILLY appreciated!!!!!
Thanx!
Donna :)

Donna,

Greetings. Don't sweat it, happens with me fairly often as well. I knock
electronic cash registers out of whack on a regular basis (couple times
a month).
Near as I can figure, some of us resonate in the electromagnetic
spectrum in a fairly broad band. Usually we only experience small
effects which mostly go unnoticed.
Sometimes though (here my opinion begins) we are putting out more
strongly and the effects are rather blatant. Are you and/or your freind
high espers? If the term is unfamiliar, have you/do you experience
psychic phenomena on a regular basis? Do you know who is on the phone
when it rings/who's knocking on your door/think of someone and they
call/see auras/feel presences/yadayadayada?? If yes then I'd say your
gift is making its presence known to you.
Natural talents are often strong, but without training tend to manifest
randomly. When all this started happening, how old were you? Were you
under emotional/physical stress above the norm for you? Such things can
trigger the gift.
I do not wish to ramble here, but if you should care to continue this
please post again, or just email me directly. I'd be happy to help if I
can.
By the way, my gift has been known to me since childhood, so I've always
been this way ;-).

Greetings.

I too, have had this happen to me for as lonng as I can remember. And,
in stores, near their electronic cash regisiters, I make sure to ground
and not touch too close to them, otherwise, everything goes
bellywackers...*although sometimes a light stroke against them helps to
give incredible deals* *grinning* Use this to your advantage, I
learned to.

You know those touch lamps that have the three light settings? I have
one in my bedroom, and if I focus *and sometimes without any focus* the
light comes on for mee as I enter the room. How handy is that! "Course,
the down side to that is that sometimes, just as I am about to drift
into slumber, the lights will come back on, and go up and down the light
scheme for a few minutes...never shutting back off *of course* at which
point I have to get back up and manually shut the thing off.

And yes, indeed, I am a channeler, and a reader of tarot and runery.
Sometimes, this phennonmena would happen with students witnessing, and
it became a study in focus of energy for them, seeing if they too
could....manipulate the lamp...and often...it worked. *grin* ahhh, the
life and times of the witch!

Hi there!
Hmmmm...... high espers...... my friend can see auras, but she's a little out
of practice. I'm not going to say that I am one, because stuff that happens
to me is just flukey. I can't consistently predict phone calls or meeting the
person who I'm thinking about on the street. It happens, but not consistently
enough for me to think that I can control this in any way. We all dabble a
little in tarot, but that's mainly just for fun.
It began for my friends at about 17-18, my friends noticed this first, and
then brought it to my attention when I was in and around 19. They are now 19
and I'm 20, so it's only been about a year and a half for me, but 2 or 3 for
them. One was in a major depression, so she was under a lot of emotional
stress (she's the one who could see auras). I was going thru some bad times
too, and it's been particularly noticable when I was mad or sad. One
respondent to my posting suggested I learn some meditation techniques, and I
am planning on taking some yoga classes, so hopefully that will help me some
:)
Weel, thanx fer responding to my posting! I rilly appreciate this :)

I don't know about streetlights, but I have a hell of a time with electronic
equipment such as computers, pagers, cash registers, etc. They either freak
out and stop working or do very unusual things in my presence. Not always,
but more often than not. I think it's a psi field thing, as far as I can
tell anyway.

Difficult to believe that was the end of THIS discussion.
I find the topic overly fascinating & will probably resurrect it at
whim.

But today I dredged it up because I've got a little problem & hope
folks will weigh in.
Here's my story.

A few years ago I met ~S~, a witch of some years practice, who
confided in me her disturbing relationship with electronics; cash
registers, computers, & the like. She needn't have confided. It soon
became obvious on mundane trips to the grocery store together. Not
every time, but noticeably frequently, the cash register would
malfunction. There would be the clerk with a WTH expression on his
face, ~S~ would laugh and say 'Oh this happens to me all the time',
and the head cashier would soon be striding over with her keys to over-
ride the problem and put things to rights. Sometimes the machine would
just run out of tape. But only for S.

This unusual proclivity of S.'s lost it's amusing quality for me after
the first incident.
I use long check-out lines to do stretches, laugh at the National
Enquirer, and practice energy work for random strangers. I started
doing these things to cure impatience. I began to avoid shopping with
S.

Now S. lives further out in the desert and comes up my side of the
mountain every other month or so for a visit. She has fybromyalgia and
when she comes to visit, she usually stays for a day or 3. We have
crazy conversations, I put up with her spoiled dog, she puts up with
my work schedule, and so we maintain our friendship.

I began to notice that electronics were NOT the only things to suffer
misadventure around S. If there was a cup to be broken or a thing to
crash, she was there. She broke my chairs. Doorknobs came off in her
hand. Little precious things disappeared in thin air.

I had chalked this up to what I call The Coyote Element. Sometimes
Coyote works great. Some goofy accident at a social function is an ice-
breaker. Having my chairs broken & doorknobs defecting and things
botching breaking and snafu-ing right & left is not as entertaining,
you can appreciate.

Now I did not take this personally until this last visit from S. It
amazes me that I have not noticed before how many casualties she left
in her wake. Until now. My antique purple crystal doorknob went
flailing off at high speed (this is not one she had wrecked before,
and it's on the Front Door damn it!) and just minutes before she left
she said "Willow I don't know what's wrong but your toilet is not
working." Then she laughed and said she had to go. The stricken look
on my face I could not hide. I am NOT a plumber, nor can I afford one
at this moment in time. In that crystalline moment, I began to take
it personally.

I can lose cups. I can mend chairs. But doorknobs on old houses take
time. Toilets are freakin' necessary items, people. I had to go down
in the spidery crawlspace to see if maybe the pipes were frozen.
Thankfully not. I had to ditz around with the toilet & see if maybe it
was something simple. Thankfully, after some time, I was able to fix
it.

WHAT is going on with Bad Luck Betty? Why is she leaking this gremlin
energy? Will I survive the next visit from her? Do I want to? Are my
guardians saying Holy Cats You've Got To Disconnect From This Woman!?
Is it an opportunity to practice wards & protections? Is it an
opportunity to discuss this with ya'll?

Greetings and Salut,

At least none of that sounds terribly painful. I get fairly
regular shocks from running & standing water, and in defiance of any
reasonable explanation, occasional plastic surfaces, and not only in
cold, dry weather either.
On occasion appliances "heal" (like my friend jason's two
'dead' speakers) in my presence, and solutions just always seem to be
at hand, especially if you ask them to (no proof, but in my experience
I feel all electronics have some kind of ambient consciousness to
them, which would make some sense seeing it seems to infuse everything
that exists, in terms of organized information exchange
organomechanisms).
And about bad luck. Seems like if something bad happens to me,
say i get in a fight and somebody hurts me (like it did recently),
without doing anything to get them back (no curses, no black majik, no
nasty mojo), infact after totally forgiving them, really bad shit
seems to happen back (as if I was a amplifying transciever for their
ill intentions/'karma'), such as them being attacked (horribly might I
add) or getting thrown in jail. If someone rips me off or does
something equally nasty, such as disrespect, same thing. I think it's
pretty groovy personally because I'm not doing anything myself, it's
just a function of living in the shadowside so much, having
internalized most of the 'majik' and made it a function of living in
the world, manifested will following sensory reaction like thunder
follows lightning.

Maybe she should try befriending her gremlins. Sounds like there's a lot of
wasted energy around her that could be put to better use. Take that as literally
or as subtly as you choose :o)

Almost completely OT: plastic is not proof against electric shock.
Certain types of plastic are.

Or worse, and perhaps more probably, she's refusing to work through her
problems. So they are taking whatever form they can to get her attention.

If you are a good enough friend to get her to evaluate herself, her
life, etc. do so.

If not, explain it to her and say that you shouldn't be dealing with her
problems as they are her responsibility so till she can keep her stuff
to herself, you need to distance yourself. Don't leave her hanging
about why, it sounds as if you've shared enough good times to be honest
about it.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the old black&white movie (I missed
the book)
Bell Book and Candle. In it there are witches in the big city. One of
them only has
the ability to make street lights go out, which he does with a
flourish.

I've decided that when I drive by, and the street lights go out, that
they are bowing to me
in the best way they can.

I suppose you cross-posted this to get a different response other than
the ones received.

Lights turning on and off are often associated with metaphysical
activity because spirit aether is directly linked to electro-magnetic
energy. We are all human batteries and our impulses create a link of
communication and physical responses. From brains to nerves to
muscles, this is a basic form of magick. First we think about it, then
it happens. Most of these impulses happen autonomically without our
conscious direction. But it is possible to control impulses
consciously and turn the autonomic into directive. Now if our body's
impulses are pure energy and magnetic field, then this must interact
with the energy and magnetic fields of other things.

There are three possible causes for these lights going out or turning
on.

1.) It is just a continual statistical coincidence. Highly unlikely if
it constantly happens.
2.) You are directing electricity outside of your body subconsciously
using metaphysical techniques of which you are not aware.
3.) A departed human spirit is controlling the electricity and trying
to send you a message.

Look up "psyballs" if you would like to explore more about this. It is
a popular party game practiced by mundane people, such as yourself,
who want to know more about the human potential. But I warn you, if
you are constantly curious about the potential of the human person,
you may be headed down our path, the pagan and metaphysical one. You
may never turn back, once you start.

Yet an undirected interior 'surge' insufficiently interacts with exterior

Relax then place your elbows at your side palms facing each other about
