Hello,

I'm looking for spiritual advice:

I just noticed my c-mode mode-line displays "C/law". I always thought
of Emacs as a friendly, caring and loving editor, not a threatening angry
god. What does she want to tell me?

Each of these most holy letters (l, a, w) represents a different mode-
line flag. For instance, C/w is C mode with the "w" mode-line flag,
which means "subword-mode". My faith is weak in this area, however,
and I do not remember what /l and /a represent. Perhaps another loyal
follower of this ancient temple of a newsgroup can inform you of their
divine purpose.
