VAGABOND

Paul Twitchell

Ragged but happy he shuffles along
old and tattered whistling a song
seeking a shade for a fleeting rest
with a crust of bread as his best
he comes from some dim unknown past
and to the winds his fortunes are cast
his wants are not security and peace
but to only search for the golden fleece
and onward he goes like the argonauts of old
in search for the rainbow and its pot of gold
