Yeah, Jim, wonder where Bonkerwitz and all his Carleton College Comic
Druids ended up, they were big into the ancient past of every country
but their own, in Isaac's case, originally Israel. I've seen them come
and go. I remember a time in 1994 that a couple of these Yankee
"Druid" missionaries landed in Ireland to spy on us genuine Irish
Druids at the request of the English Wiccan Farrars living here,
Farrarians I call them ever since, we filled them full of BS and they
rushed off back to the States to report to Isaac about us, all the BS
we gave them. Isaac in turn conveyed it all to that Grokker pal of his
running the Loonie "Green Egg" magazine, also to his Oddbod Pal Carr-
Gomm, big into begging money off wannabees who were all stung and
still are. Could write volums on those Phoneys to make you split
yourself laughing. How they can keep a straight face whilst selling
their shyte is quite beyond me, trained Con Men all. The Fools who lap
it up and pay for it are worse !

BTW, I can speak and read some German, French too, and discovered over
on the Swiss CH TALK Forum, whilst spying around there, that Felber is
a paid-up Member of the S.V.P., the Swiss Neo-Nazi Party !
Felber, he would be chatting with his neo-nazi pals over there, our

Switzerland is a real bolt-hole for Nazis, also the most Nazified

by Isaac Bonewitz, and Philip Carr-Gomm of OBOD in particular, toward

MERCHANDISING too : This False OBOD makes a small fortune as well out
of selling Fake robes and accoutrements to the Blithering Idiots who
they have conned and who still think that they are Druids. In this
connection, the Archdruid of Stonehenge, my friend Rollo Maughfling,
reported to the Council of British Druid Orders, CoBDO, a great and
good Council because they are always broke and don't have a dime, that
the Irish Druids he visits are properly dressed for ceremonial as they
don't all go around in the uniform white of the OBOD "Druids" - it's
in the CoBDO minutes.
And still there are FOOLs who fancy themselves as Druids because they
got some worthless certificates signed by Carr-Gomm.
As T.P. Barnum said, "There's one born every minute! "
The only decent book ever written in modern times about the Druids is
"The Druids" by Professor Piggott, the renowned archaeologist, in
which he shows up OBOD in particular as frauds, as Wishful Thinkers.
Carr-Gomm in particular hates that book, why wouldn't he, it shows him
up for what he is, a Fool, but a clever Fool, the cleverest of them
all !!!
It's cheap in paperback, beg, buy or borrow it, it will take the
scales from your eyes. Professor Piggott does not write of Gaelic
Irish or Scottish Druids therein, as he was an Englishman himself sick
of the Grand Fraudery of his countrymen like Carr-Gomm who were
cynically selling "Druidry-as-wished-for" to gullible people who
genuinely wanted to be Druids.

I personally know that Isaac Bonewits is not making enough money to live on
from his books and other products. He makes nothing off ADF. Maybe his Real
Magic School is pulling in a little money to help him pay his bills. His
wife has to work to supplement their income and Isaac is disabled from the
tainted vitamins that affected so many in the 80's. I wish him well as he
did a lot to get folks started on the road to studying the academic works on
Druidry and Indo-European traditions. He's no poser and is a very unique
individual.
As to Philip Carr-Gomm, his OBOD seems to be making a little money though
not a great deal. Philip is lucky as he is still able to work in his
profession and probably doesn't need the money that his books and other work
brings in concerning Druidry.
The truth be told, there is little money to be made in Druidry at all. It's
not about the money at all. The same can be said for writing about Pagan
topics. No one is making enough to life on independently. You'll see that
when the book you mentioned that you are writing gets published (and I hope
to get a copy when it is available). It'll be good to see the news about
Druidry out of Ireland in book form.
Long ago, I determined that there is no real money to be made in Druidry. It
should be a labor of love and avocation. Getting the truth out there is what
a Druid should be trying to do and that is what I hope to do as well. Those
who attack honest efforts in this respect are the worst kind of people who
have no real truth or work of their own. They are basically criminals (and I
don't mean you).
Let's all just keep on studying what can be known; experimenting and
experiencing what can be learned from doing; seeking out new ways of
bringing the Druid way to a world that so desperately needs it in its
ignorance. This means that those who are doing the real work of Druidry will
have to rise above pettiness and limited thinking. They will have to
rededicate themselves to seeking truth and synchronizing old to new as well
as new to old. Remember the ancient saying:
"One is no Druid who does not preserve the ancient knowledge while also
synchronizing it with the new."
It is even more true and important today when even the ignorant and small in
virtue can access the world through the Internet and WWW.

I have come across these OBOD Druiids in Ireland, those that are
supposed to be "qualified" OBOD Druids. They are woefully lacking in
knowledge though declared qualified by Carr-Gomm and his henchmen, so
much so that these people asked me and we actually took them aside and
taught them in Druidry, for free, out of sympathy for them and their
plight at the hands of OBOD, who just turn them out for their money
and forget them. Except for the monthly newsletter and such floss, and
the provision of a website containing a forum, which we all know is
cheap to erect.
Any Druid work done in Britain has been done by Rollo Maughfling,
Arthur Pendragon, the late Tim Sebastian, CoBDO especially Liz Murray,
and the 17 Orders of CoBDO and all the fabulous people who run them,
working their fingers to the bone for free. OBOD has done nothing in
years and continues to do nothing right now ! Then OBOD is so greedy
that they have organised their English brand of Druidry in Ireland for
years without a By Your Leave to Irish Druids. In fact they don't even
know any Irish Druids and couldn't care less so long as they get the
money in !!!
Carr-Gomm was a good fellow up into the early 90's, but he has changed
utterly since the Big Money started rolling in, thanks to the fact
that he was off the ground first, and also thanks to the fact that he
is a stylish writer of Druid books, though there is never much of
substance in them. But there is always the advertisement there for the
OBOD postal or Correspondence course, he makes sure of that ! Also
links to his and OBOD's pals in the Business as they try to operate a
Closed Shop, in Druidry, yes a Closed Shop along classical Freemasonic
lines !!! What else would you expect from Masons ???
OBOD withdrew in 1995 from CoBDO on the flimsiest of excuses, the real
reason being that they knew that if they remained part of the Council
( actually founded and established by Philip Carr-Gomm himself
together with Rollo and Tim Sebastian), they would sooner or later
have to cough something up to keep the Council gouing from their fast-
growing treasury at the time. But they were too mean to even do this,
so they withdrew. They have done little but sell waste paper since
then. I know all about this because I had the late Tony Newman,
Chairman of CoBDO sitting in despair here in my house, wandering
around Dublin too where we did have a good time that Tony really
enjoyed amongst our Irish Druids there, despairing because he thought
that OBOD were deliberately pulling the rug out from under the Council
to have it all for themselves. But we all got together , and today the
Council is far stronger than OBOD, but with no money because CoBDO
doesn't want any money. Arthur Pendragon is a declared Renunciant (of
money, he won't touch it ot deal in it !), and several of the Council
are similar to him.
Look, Searles, you don't know the half of what is going on because
you're not over here. In order to keep a tight grip on the reins, and
on the money too, Philip actually appointed his own wife Stephanie as
Chief Scribe of OBOD, talk about keeping it in the family !!! But this
is a really negative development where OBOD is concerned because the
entire Order is run by a Triad of Philip, his wife and some lackey !!!
All property and monies are vested in this Triad, and all OBOD Druids
are subject to direct rule by this Triad, there is not a shred of
democracy , even less of voting, about the OBOD Household.
And OBOD has started recruiting in the USA in recent years, Isaac
Bonewitz being among the recruiting sergeants (I wonder what's his
percentage !). Here at the centre of it all, I know exactly what is
going on, and all about their rotten scheme to rip off and eventually
enslave the Pagans and Druids of America. And everywhere else they can
climb in the window.
I appeal here, and I will elsewhere, to the Irish of America to steer
well clear of these men who in fact have no time for them, Ireland,
Druidry or America, but only for their own bank balances. Are you
going to stand idly by, Searles, and let the likes of Philip Carr-Gomm
rip off America ? He is well started into ripping off France and
Holland too, and maintains a holiday home in New Zealand where he is
ripping off even more well-meaning people.
We have indeed successfully kept them out of Ireland, who admits a
thief into his house but a fool. We have suffered a little slippage
over the years with about 15 or 16 good people, North and South, being
led astray and robbed by OBOD. They are as bad as muggers except that
you don't get beaten up.
Now, what say you, Searles ???

I always tell the Truth. I admit things even if they go against the

Isaac Bonewitz declared years ago that the book, "The Druids" by
Professor Stuart Piggott, was the best book available on Druidry.
Then Philip Carr-Gomm fulminated against that book, which he hates
with all his might, and as I say, why wouldn't he hate it.
Isaac fell silent then about his love for that book :-)
Maybe I am adding 2 and 2 and getting Whatever, maybe Isaac simply
hadn't the time or the opportunity to praise Professor Pigott's book
any further, maybe Philip didn't apply any pressure to him ?
That book is fabulous, the Truth is in it, Professor Pigott does not
hold back. And he is a stylish and forceful writer too ! It is
eminently enjoyable, even if it knocks some of your cherished ideas
about Druidry and it crumbles before your very eyes.
But then, if you can read Professor Piggott, and analyse his
statements critically, you will emerge all the better Druid for having
done so. Philip Carr-Gomm did all but place that book on the Index.
His diatribe against Professor Piggott stands to his eternal shame.
In fact I think it is a fabulous book about Druids and Druidry,
ancient and modern, though the modern English Druids emerge with egg
on their faces from under Professor Piggott's microscope. In this book
we see a scientist at work dissecting Druidry, what a man Piggott
was !
A Giant in the Earth.
The young Isaac Bonewitz was right, it is simply the best book on
Druidry ever written.

Every year they held a week long orgy at Harbon Hot Springs here in
California.
One year back in the late eighties I attended with a Druidess friend and
they insisted everyone there marry every one else in attendance of the
opposite sex.
Can't say the Church of All Worlds was not interesting.
California OBOD history also has some weirdness of its own. $$$$

Years ago I remember, telling off a policeman (politely) for

I met that man many times on my path and we became front line friends.
He was promoted to chief commander something or other and on one

I very publicly, inc helicopters tv ect ,Told him
"I will strangle you,
(-a great pause in the background din occurred, while all waited for
my arrest)
with your own red tape and your own bullshit".
The great pause continued, and was only broken by both of us suddenly
laughing our heads off at each other because he said
"You certainly have a way with words"
I guess neither of us are laughing now.
Both sides seemed most confused including his body guards who he
stopped from jumping on me.
We had no battle with the police that day,
harmonic sympathy caused lots of giggling, in fact it turned out quite
nice.
