Had God omitted anything, even that which is bad, His creation would
not have been complete, therefore not perfect. God intentionally
created all of everything, including sin, and is now in the process of
separating all that is good from all that is not good. My thinking on
this is that the two will be eternally separated by something like a
cosmic portal that can never be breached by anyone.

From our temporal perspective or from God's temporal perspective? From
God's temporal perspective He did accomplish all this, instantly but
from our perspective it is taking a very long time. The reason God set
it up this way was to give us all a very in-depth learning by
involvement with sin, with the end result being that NONE of us will
EVER want to go back and explore it any further, once we've been
granted immortality and absolute sovereignty. The Word of God refers
to us as "Children of God" many times. This indicates that we are
expected to mature as children mature to the level of their parents.
We will mature to God's own level and can then interact with him just
as adult children interact with their parents.
