The Nichiren Shu Temple (Myokakuji Betsuin) at 3570 Mona Way, in the
Westgate Section of San Jose, California is something very special,
quite different from the other 4 Nichiren Shu Temples in California,
and the rest in the U.S.
The San Jose Myokakuji Betsuin is a virtual Mini-Mall of Slander of the
Law.
(Is your local Nichiren Shu Temple becoming a Zendo? Keep an eye out
for this is the future, as Nichiren Shu finds even more novel ways to
keep the revenue stream coming in.)
The Temple on Mona Way is on a dead end street that leads to a weed
patch at the mouth of a storm drainage creek. Mona Way comes off of
Darryl Ave., between Hamilton and Payne next to the San Tomas
Expressway. On the other side of Payne, Darryl Ave. becomes Boynton
Ave. which for a few blocks is the highest crime rate spot in San Jose
(according to the Neighborhood Watch Police spokesman), and this
phenomenon is now explained.
Nichiren had strong opinions on slanderous sects of Buddhism, which
were based on studying the wrong translations of the sutras, and which
invariably led to upholding the wrong sutras over the Lotus Sutra
(against the will of the Buddha who expounded the sutras, Shakyamuni).
Of all the various slanders of Buddhism, Nichiren's dictum which dealt
with Zen is as follows:
"Zen is the work of devilish minds."
Is this not clear? Could this be MADE clearer? I think not.
And yet, at the San Jose Myokakuji Betsuin Temple of Nichiren Shu, they
study Zen in many forms...

And that is how you can utterly undermine your life by simply putting
flowers in a vase.

Question: But how do we know that the title Myoho-renge-kyo appearing
in each chapter is the lotus of the entity of the Mystic Law? I ask
this because, when the Great Teacher T'ien-t'ai explained the title of
the Lotus Sutra, he interpreted the lotus as a metaphor, so that we
would have to say that this is the lotus that is a metaphor, would we
not?
Answer: The renge, or lotus, in the title of the sutra is explained as
both entity and metaphor. In the interpretation you have just referred
to, T'ient'ai is explaining the lotus as a metaphor. This is what he
does in the first volume of Profound Meaning where he discusses the six
metaphors of the theoretical and essential teachings. But in the
seventh volume of the same work, he interprets the lotus as the entity
of the Mystic Law. Thus T'ien-t'ai's doctrine is flawless in that it
reveals both interpretations, explaining the lotus in the title of the
sutra as both entity and metaphor.

From the vague comments about drainage ditches and weeds to comments about
crime, much is said that is in fact either flatly untrue or simply
irrelevant to reality as it exists for the more sane members of the
community at large. I particularly enjoy the comments about a "crime
ridden" area coming from a group whose San Francisco "Cultural Center"
shares a block with one of the major illegal drug markets in that city.
Apparently renting space to organizations who perform such arcane rituals as
flower arranging somehow slanders the Dharma. Certainly Nichiren, were he
to return today, would rampage through the social hall at the San Jose
Nichiren Shu Temple, overturning tables of vases and flowers and beating old
ladies over the head with a stick for daring to arrange flowers in a vase in
an astectically pleasing manner! Then he would stroll down the hall to
where the San Jose Kendo Association practices in another room and seizing
one of the practice bamboo swords would begin to strike the participant
about the heads and shoulders for practicing Zen! After all these Amnerican
teenagers and therir parents, most of whom have no idea what Zen is, should
know better. They have been deluded into believing that their children are
performing a form of martial arts which is beneficial to one's physical
health and mental balance. After all, everyone knows that the International
Kendo Assoc of which this group is a member, is merely a front for the
Internationl Zenist Conspiracy.
And then there are those evil nasty little kids from grades 1 through 8, who
dare participate in such classes as Japanese language instruction, finger
painting, origami and the like in the Japanese school in the educational
building. Many are the children of Japanese nationals who are employed in
the Silicon Valley and who wish their children to learn to speak, read and
write their native tongue so that when they return to their homeland
someday, they will not be at a complete disadvantage. Others are the
children of people who dare think there may be some advantage to their
children in learing such things even though they are Americans. No doubt
these parents are traitors who should be handed over to the Dept. of
Homeland Security and have their children removed from their evil clutches
and placed with decent God fearing Americans. Here no doubt Nichiren would
not cease to beat both the children and parents without mercy for daring to
learn such Zen concepts as how to do finger painting or how to pronounce
kanji charecters!
How dare the San Jose Nichiren Shu Buddhist temple rent space to such evil
organizations. Why not only are they supporting the International Zenist
Conspiracy by doing so but they are also subverting our American way of
life. To arms! To arms! Light up the tourches and march on the temple.
Burn it to the ground for daring to allow people to arrange flowers and let
children read Japanese language comic books.

Temple in San Jose is really like, this Sunday, April 23rd, there will be an

Chas's posts are his posts. But the level of detail indicates one of two
things. Either Chas has no life whatsoever and spends all his time looking
into the various details he mentions in his posts or the SGI slander brigade
continues to operate. Now it has been well documented that the SGI has used
some of its err... more "devoted" members to perform tasks similar to Chas's
repeated spamming. Some people who later regretted their actions actually
confessed publicly and named names. Others like the Rubys continue their
efforts on other bulletin boards. The location may change but the story
remains the same: Tell lies about other groups, describe anyone who doesn't
follow the SGI party line as a former member who is mentally imbalanced
and/or hates the SGI and generally sow doubt and dissention.
