From the New Age Only Intellectuals Allowed IRG board:

Hi Dee,
Very few people I know read, write, copy, recite, keep(live) the Sutra
We have been studying it here for almost a year.
Now when I pick up any of Nichiren's gosho they make perfect sence.
Finding people that have actually studied and practiced either
is rarer than kylons horns.
Carmen<<<<<<<

A couple of things, Carmen. One, Nichiren Shoshu members read the Lotus
Sutra every day. Two, reading the Lotus Sutra in English is NOT a
requirement for Enlightenment, nor is being literate. How many followers of
Nichiren Daishonin could read? Do you think the farmers in Atsuhara could
read? According to you, they could not attain Buddhahood because they
couldn't read the Lotus Sutra. Shakyamuni could neither read nor write so I
guess you exclude him as well ...

Your smug arrogance comes from turning your back on True Buddhism and
thinking your self-satisfied pseudo-intellectual ego is where it's at.

Its totally understandable to think they didn't read and write, becuase that
was the view that western history laid down in the 19th century and even in
buddhsit books we see that kind of nonsense repeated over and over.

Here is a very conservative website on Indus valley languages. Remember
that the "aryan invasion" theories was also huge western fallacy and even
people in India accepted the wests historans, but that has been changing and
anyone who delves deep enough will see that the datings for Indian history
were off by a mile.

When historians began to realize just how old the Vedas where they announced
that it was all "oral tradition." Nonsense. Most of the relics and clay
pots etc, only shoe short sentences, but that is not unusally and no reason
to think the old scripts were primitive. When do we have long sentences on
modern clay pots. There have ben numerous archeological finds that just
keep placing the old Indus valley scripts back further and further. The
same is true of Cuneiform.

Chavanistic historians are so absurd. We have proof of high
level---advanced--astronomy--all over the world but western historian who
think columbus discovered america and the world was created a few thousand
years ago and it was flat, were all the rage just a short time ago, but a
number of ancient cultures knew about atoms and had advanced mathematics.
It is like the western scholars, just got off a truck and started making
pronouncements.

Okay Reggie that is pretty funny. But face it, the myth of the illiterate
Indians, has been propagated even in recent times and even by supposed
"scholars," and even in accepted modern-day buddhist writings! Even in the
standard explanations of things. The myth that they memorized everything
and passed it down for many hundreds and hundreds of years is absurd. Hell
they were all smoking hash too. And maybe Reggie should take the edge off a
bit as well, Michael was just repeating what he heard over and over.

There are alot of habitual beliefs , taken for granted and accepted by rote
and parroted as dogma. Real buddhism is always there to break the
expedients. And guess what, the same human ignorance that turns buddhism
into just a pile of dogma, instead of deep cosmic experience, resides in the
great mind of Reginald the Harping Carpenter, who does on occasion, (but
rarely,) actually crack a good joke.

That is pretty funny though.

But.....Buddhist and Hindu Sutra's were passed down orally from that time.
Sanscrit certainly did exist but most everyone was not able to read or write
back then.

This idea that the Hokekyo was not "written" by Shakyamuni is a non-issue in
Nichiren Buddhism. It is just cover for people who don't like what Nichiren

Not only not "written" but not part of historical Shakyamuni Buddhism except
in essense. The 28 Chapters was compiled as much as 1000 years later
depending on which set of dates you choose. Even with the earliest Date for
Shakyamuni the Mahayana Sutras appeared 300 years later. Thati is a long
time to imagine that a bunch of arguing sects that were fighting tooth and
nail would be keeping Sutas pure.

>>>>>>>It is just cover for people who don't like what Nichiren

That's crazy. Understanding the true history of Buddhism only complements
the reality of the True Buddha Nichiren Daishonin. The Daishonin too used
expedients, which you do not seem to understand. The Lotus Sutra itself
states, "They (the evil people) will not understand the expedient means of
the Buddha." It also says, "They will claim we forged this Sutra for fame
and profit." In reality the flow of Buddhism is not confined to Shakyamuni
's teachings, which were provisional compared to the teachings of the Lotus
Sutra and the Teachings of Nichiren Daishonin who revealed the real meaning
of the Lotus Sutra is establishing World Peace based in the enlightenment
of people. The first step to do that is to have Itai Doshin. To make
distinctions about dogma as you do and to discard your original vow makes
you a fool who has crazy ideas about dogma being primary to buddhism, so you
focus on nutty nitpicking.

You think that Shakyamuniu was a Man-god<<

Actually, the HBS and nearly all of real Nichiren Buddhism does not consider
the historical Shakyamuni to be like a God at all. Nichiren even warns not to
enshrine images of the Buddha but to only enshrine the Hokekyo/ Daimoku as the
Object of Worship. Of course you hate the Lotus Sutra so this must not make
sense to you .

In fact, it was the HBS that had the Honzon Mondo Sho (Formal Lecture on the
Object of Worship) translated into English. Its on our web page for anyone to
read:

http://www.butsuryushu.org

Shakyamuni is the "Ojin," the earthly manifestation of the Eternal
Enlightenment of the Buddha and not the central image of Nichiren's Buddhism.
The Hojin, the enlightenment of the Buddha, encapsulated in the Daimoku is the
central representation Nichiren said to use ( he never mentioned your specific
Board Gohonzon btw..but you already know that, dont you?)

And only the words of this "god" are real budhism. Buddhism has a flow. and

a lineage. It is people trying to change the world not find bliss on the
lap of some onmipotent being.<<

Then you deny "NIchiren" Sho Shu's theory of NIchiren Hombusturon? The
Daishonin as omnipresent etc.and the "real" eternal Buddha.

Its funny how confused former SGIers now in "Nichiren" Sho Shu switch up
between "NIchiren" Sho Shu idea's of the transcendence of Nichiren and their
SGI Hongaku "no spiritual realm/mechanical Buddhism" It must be like being on a
roller coaster ride to hell.

--------------------------------------------------------------- The Life
of Gotama Buddha

(exerpted from THE TEACHING OF BUDDHA, THE BUDDHIST BIBLE )

1. The Shakya clansmen dwelt along the river Rohini that flowed among
the southern foothills of the Himalayas. Their King Suddhodana Gautama
had transferred his capitol to Kapila and there had built a great castle
and had ruled wisely, winning the joyful acclaim of his people.

The Queen's name was Maya. She was the daughter of the King's uncle who
was also a king of the neighboring division of the same Shakya clan. For
twenty years they had no children, then, after dreaming a strange dream
of an elephant entering her side, Queen Maya became pregnant. The King
and the people looked forward with joyful expectancy to the birth of a
royal child. According to their custom the Queen returned to her own
home for the birth, and while on the way, in the beautiful spring
sunshine, she rested in the flower garden of Lumbini Park. All about her
were Asoka blossoms and in delight she reached out her right arm to
pluck a branch and the Prince was born. All expressed their heartfelt
delight and extolled the glory of the Queen and her princely child; even
Heaven and Earth manifested their joy. This memorable day was the eighth
day of April. The joy of the King was extreme as he named the child:
Siddhartha, which means, "Every wish fulfilled."

2. In the palace of the King, however, delight was quickly followed by
sorrow, for after a few days lovely Queen Maya suddenly passed away.
Fortunately her younger sister, Prajapati became the child's foster
mother and brought it up with loving care.

A hermit, who lived in the mountains not far away, noticing a glory
about the castle and interpreting it as a good omen, came down to the
palace and was shown the child. He predicted: "This prince, if he
remains in the palace after his youth, will become a great King to rule
the Four Seas. But if he forsakes the household life to embrace a
religious life, he will become a Buddha and the world's Savior." At
first the King was pleased because of the prophecy, but later became
troubled at the thought of the possibility of his only son leaving the
palace to become a homeless recluse.

**At the age of seven, the Prince began his lessons in literature
{reading & writing!} and the military arts, but his thoughts more
naturally ran to other things. **

**Note for arrogant & ignorant MCody - RIF: Reading Is Fundamental,
FOOL! LOL. <http://www.rif.org>

One spring day he went out of the castle with his father and they were
watching a farmer at his plowing; he noticed a bird flying down to the
ground and carrying away a little worm which had been thrown out of the
ground by the farmer's plough. He who had lost his mother so soon after
his birth, was deeply affected by the tragedy of these two little
creatures. He sat down in the shade of a tree and thought about it,
whispering to himself:

"Alas! Do all living creatures kill each other?"
This spiritual wound was deepened day after day as he grew up; like a
little scar on a young tree, the sufferings of human life were more and
more deeply carved into his mind.

The King was increasingly worried as he recalled the hermit's prophecy
and tried in every possible way to cheer the Prince and to turn his
thoughts in other directions. At the age of nineteen, the King arranged
the marriage of the Prince to the Princess Yasodhara, who was the
daughter of Suprabuddha, Lord of Koliya castle and a brother of the late
Queen Maya.

3. For ten years the Prince was immersed in a round of music, dancing
and pleasure, in the different pavilions of Spring, Autumn and Winter,
but ever his thoughts reverted to the problem of suffering as he
pensively tried to understand the true meaning of human life.
"Luxuries of the palace, healthy bodies, rejoicing youth! what do they
mean to me?" he meditated. "Some day we may be sick, we shall become
aged, from death we can not eventually escape. Pride of youth, pride of
health, pride of existence, all thoughtful people must cast them aside."

"A man struggling for existence will naturally look for help. There are
two ways of looking for help, a right way and a wrong way. To look the
wrong way means that, while he recognizes that sickness, old age and
death are unavoidable, he looks for help among the same class of empty,
transitory things. To look the right way means that he recognizes the
true nature of sickness, old age and death, and looks for life in that
which transcends all human suffering. In this palace life of pleasure I
seem to be looking for help in the wrong way."

4. Thus the mental struggle went on in the mind of the Prince until his
twenty-ninth year when his only child, Rahula, was born. This seemed to
bring things to a climax and he decided to leave his palace home and
seek the solution of his mental unrest in the homeless life of a
mendicant. This plan he carried out one night, by leaving the castle
with only his personal servant, Channa, and his favorite horse, the
snow-white Kanthaka, and even these he left behind him when he had
crossed the river at the b ounds of his Father's kingdom.

But his mental troubles were not at an end and many doubts beset him.
"Perhaps it would be better for me to return to the castle and seek some
other solution; then the whole world will be mine." But he resisted
these doubts by realizing that nothing worldly could satisfy him. So he
shaved his head, carried a begging bowl in his hand, and turned his
mendicant steps to the south.

The Prince first visited the hermit Bhagava and watched his ascetic
practices; then he went successively to Arada Kalama and Udraka
Ramaputra to learn their methods of attainment, but after practicing
them for a time became convinced that they would not lead him to
enlightenment. Finally he went to the Magadha country and practiced
asceticism in the forest of Uruvilva on the banks of the Nairanjana
river where it flows by the Gaya Castle.

5. The methods of his practice were unbelievably intense. He spurred
himself on with the thought that "no ascetic in the past, none in the
present, and none in the future, ever have or ever will practice more
earnestly that I do."

Still, the Prince could not get what he sought. After six years in the
forest he gave up the practice of asceticism. He bathed in the river and
accepted a bowl of food from the hand of Sujata, a maid who lived in the
neighboring village. The five companions who had lived with the Prince
for the six years of his ascetic practices looked on with amazement that
he could receive food from the hand of a maiden; they thought him
degraded thereby and left him. The Prince, thus, was left alone. He was
still feeble but at the risk of his life he attempted a final
meditation, saying to himself, "Blood may become exhausted, flesh may
decay, bones may fall apart, but I will never leave this place until I
find the way to enlightenment."

It was an intense and incomparable struggle! His mind was desperate, was
filled with confusing thoughts, dark shadows overhung his spirit, he was
beset with all the lures of evil. But carefully and patiently he
examined them one by one and rejected them all. It, indeed, was a hard
struggle, that made his blood run thin, his flesh creep, and his bones
crack. But when the morning star appeared in the eastern sky, the
struggle was over and the Prince's mind was as clear and bright as the
day-break. He had found the path to enlightenment at last. It was
December the 8th, when he was thirty-five years of age that the Prince
became Buddha.

6. From this time on the Prince was known by different names; some spoke
of him as Buddha, the Perfectly Enlightened One; some spoke of him as
Shakyamuni, the Sage of the Shakya clan; and still others spoke of him
affectionately as the Blessed One. He went first to Mrigadava in
Varanasi where the five mendicants who had lived with him during the six
years of his ascetic life were staying. At first they shunned him, but
after he had talked with them, they believed in him and became his first
followers. Then he went to Rajagriha castle and won over King Bimbisara
who had always been his friend.
From there he went about the country living on alms and persuading men
to accept his way of life, and men responded to him as thirsty men seek
water and hungry men seek food. Two great teachers, Sariputra and
Maudgalyayana, and their two thousand disciples came to him.

At first the Buddha's Father, King Suddhodana, suffering inwardly from
his son's retirement, held aloof, but afterward became his faithful
disciple; and Maha-Prajapati, the Buddha's step-mother, and the Princess
Yasodhara, his wife, and all the members of the Shakya clan, believed in
him and followed him. And multitudes of others became his devoted and
faithful followers.

7. For forty-five years the Buddha went about the country preaching and
persuading men to follow his way of life, but at last, at Vaisali on the
way from Rajagriha to Sravasti, he became ill and predicted that after
three months he would enter Nirvana. Still he journeyed on until he
reached Pava where he was made critically ill by food offered by Cunda,
a blacksmith. Then by easy stages in spite of great pain and weakness,
he reached the forest on the border of Kuninagara castle. Lying between
two large sala trees, he continued his teachings to his favorite
disciples until the last moment. Thus passed into the unknown the
greatest of the world's teachers and the kindest of men.

8. Under the oversight of Ananda, the Buddha's favorite disciple, the
body was cremated by his friends in Kusinagara castle. Seven of the
neighboring rulers under the lead of King Ajatasatru demanded that the
ashes be divided among them. The King of the Kunsinagara castle at first
refused and the dispute even threatened to end in war, but by the advice
of a wise man named Dona, the crises passed and the ashes were divided
and buried under eight great monuments. Even the embers of the fire and
the earthen jar that had held the ashes were divided and given to two
others to be likewise honored. [end of story]

Okay Reggie that is pretty funny. But face it, the myth of the

The {RACIST} myth that they memorized everything and passed it down for

You think that Shakyamuniu was a Man-god<<

Actually, the HBS and nearly all of real Nichiren Buddhism does not consider
the historical Shakyamuni to be like a God at all. Nichiren even warns not
to
enshrine images of the Buddha but to only enshrine the Hokekyo/ Daimoku as
the
Object of Worship. Of course you hate the Lotus Sutra so this must not make

In fact, it was the HBS that had the Honzon Mondo Sho (Formal Lecture on

Gosh, Dick, speaking of the dead, I wonder what was up with Daisaku
Ikeda's own son who died of a bleeding ulcer in the best hospital your donations
could buy?
Or how about that SGI woman that the world tribune reported on, who died
of a massive brain hemmorage while chanting to her SGI honzon.
are to comment on the several SGI members that died in the flight 800
explosion, an awful event that is a mystery even today?
Maybe you could expound upon the SGI woman who died when she
crashed her hang-glider in Washington a few years ago. You know-
the one that the world tribune reported as "An Auspicious Beginning"
as if it were some kind of benefit.
Perhaps you could explain to us why a lightening bolt struck the first
several rows of SGI member's Herbie Hancock's concert in DC
and killed one of his fans?

You are a typical swaggering gak, Dick, parroting the gak gossip
that if one goes against Daisaku Ikeda, he will meet a horrible
end. How does it feel to be a mere puppet of a pompous billionaire
politician, Dick?

December 1, 2000 Soka Gakkai World Tribune

"The Victorious Future of Mentor and Disciple"
By Daisaku Ikeda
>>
I can see
Those who are like demons
Milling around what,
Unbeknownst to them,
Is only an execution block.

They trample
The noble spirit
Of the Daishonin
And have become
Pitiful robbers of the Law.
Like a rapacious swarm of locusts,
Nikken and his cronies
Have exploited and persecuted
And even plotted to destroy
The Soka Gakkai,
An organization of the highest good
That has made unprecedented contributions
To spreading the Law
And worked so hard
To support and protect the priesthood.

Their evil deeds
Will go down forever in history
And they will be severely judged
According to the law of cause and effect.
This I believe
To be the unwavering position
Of the Daishonin.

It will be just as he states
In the writing "On Persecutions Befalling the Sage":
They "seem to be free from punishment at first,
But eventually they are all doomed to fall"
(The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, p. 997).

The plots and schemes of High Priest Nikken Abe and his cohorts,
Spinning a web of the most base lies
And vicious slander,
Were designed to bring us down.

Yet
We shone on brightly
Like the morning sun!
We rose boldly to the challenge,
And began our battle!

The Daishonin, too,
Was slandered as an immoral priest,
And his struggles amid persecution
Were beyond description.
Our first president Tsunesaburo Makiguchi
Used to strictly remind us
That in comparison
The persecution we encounter
Is truly small and trivial.

With silent forbearance,
The firm resolve demonstrated by the Buddha
Engraved in our hearts,
We waged an arduous struggle
To overcome
Every imaginable
Haughty and arrogant utterance.

We will not be defeated.
We are fed up
With the clamoring and abusive foolishness
Of these spiritual paupers.
In fact, our mighty, passionate spirit
Only burns all the brighter.

They who are
At times frenzied,
At times coldly silent,
At times filled with excuses,
Will eventually depart this world,
Gasping and trembling in fear.

Backsliders in faith!
Are you satisfied
To lead a life
Trapped in a maze
Of hellish depths?

Slanderers of the Law!
Having corrupted the Daishonin's teachings
And veered from the eternal truth,
Are you prepared
To drift along forever in a state of life
Of agonized defeat?

Traitors!
Having turned your backs
On the Daishonin's golden words,
Are you ready
To be burned in the fires
Of the hell of incessant suffering?
To be imprisoned in a cavern
In the hell of extreme cold?
To be shut off in the darkness
Of misery and strife,
Forever deprived of the sun's light?

Dick is just projecting the plight of SGI onto NST because he
has no other way to fight. The fact is that SGI members have
been dropping like flies for the past 10 years, and SGI desperately
has been portraying their unfortunate demise as "benefits"

The greater problem is with those who make those sorts of pronouncements
in the first place. Dick was spouting the Fukushima stuff as if he was
there, but in fact, was only relating the sort of heresay that is so
prevolent in the SGI.
I knew Brad and Bill before they died, Dick did not.

Projecting will do you no good Dick

Please explain why Daisaku Ikeda's own son died -in the best hospital
money can buy- from a bleeding ulcer. Did he betray the Daishonin?
Maybe talked back to his daddy once too often?

How about those 4 SGI members who died when flight 800
exploded last year (as yet, an unsolved mystery). A warning to
all other SGI members?

Hey and how 'bout that big lightening bolt that struck the front of the stage at
SGI member, Herbie Hancock's, concert in DC a couple years ago, killing
one of his fans. Taishakutenno a little bit grumpy that day?

And let's not forget the poor SGI woman who suffered a massive stroke
and died while chanting to her SGI honzon that was reported in the SGI World
tribune a couple years ago. Or the SGI member who crashed her hang glider,
and died, that the World Tribune reported as "An Auspicious Beginning"

Oh, I almost forgot about the tragic murder of that SGI member in
Paris, that was committed by another SGI member in 1998. Talk about
overturned carts!

Everything that you say is happening to us, in reality, is happening
big time to SGI members. Every month the WT reports another
unfortunate death or other tragedy that happens to a SGI member,
and they usually tout these things as BENEFITS.

Do you think that you really have the wisdom to judge why somebody died
Dick? Then why don't you tell us why followers of Ikeda have been dropping
like flies for the past 10 years. What's going on Dick?

Better get on the ball and watch your rickety little cart on those bumpy
roads, chump.

There are many precedents for such frivolous statements. The strangest I
ever heard was from GMW about the probable jobutsu of Ron Pesola in
Albuquerque back in the 70s. His pregnant wife, Terri (sp?), had gone out
for awhile and he was chanting when he had an aneurysm (if that's the right
term for a brain blow-out). Anyway, he died while chanting (not a bad way
to go), but at a very young age (late 20s). Shortly thereafter, GMW
guaranteed Terri that her unborn child would be her reborn husband! Can you
imagine the headtrip that would be?! (I was going to say "mind-fuck", but
not in polite society. ;) Of course, in New Mexico, she became like "the
Madonna" to most of the gakkai members. I doubt she ever got over it...
from what I've heard. <sigh>

You think that Shakyamuniu was a Man-god<<

---------------------------------------------------------------
Marc:
Actually, the HBS [mess!] and nearly all of real Nichiren Buddhism does

not consider the historical Shakyamuni to be like a God at all. Nichiren
even warns not to enshrine images of the Buddha but to only enshrine the
Hokekyo/ Daimoku as the Object of Worship. Of course you hate the Lotus
Sutra so this must not make sense to you .

In fact, it was the HBS [mess!] that had the Honzon Mondo Sho

(Formal Lecture on the Object of Worship) translated into English. Its
on our web page for anyone to read:

  http://www.butsuryushu.org

>>> Shakyamuni is the "Ojin," the earthly manifestation of the Eternal
Enlightenment of the Buddha and not the central image of Nichiren's

Buddhism. The Hojin, the enlightenment of the Buddha encapsulated in the
Daimoku, is the central representation Nichiren said to use (he never
mentioned your specific Board Gohonzon btw ... but you already know
that, don't you?) <--- #1.

1) RC comments: First of all, that is No-thing [Zen] but Mahayana
Buddhism, NOT "real Nichiren Buddhism" or real Nichiren (true) Buddhism,
the Nichiren Shoshu/ True Buddhism, being MMM - MISunderstood,
MISinterpreted, & MISused by that God-oriented, HERETICal HBS (mess!) -
Hon Butsuryu Shu, nka. Happi/Honed Bullsh*t Slingers and it's arrogant &
ignorant, INcompetent, LYING-ASS, low life conditioned DUMB-ASS member/
"lay priest" - Marc Strumpf, aka. MarcInMD, nka. Dr. Marc the Moron!
ROTFL.

Listen Up, FOOL! LOL.

Secondly, besides failing to identify all three (3) of the "Three
(enlightened) Bodies" of a SINGLE Buddha, you are STUPIDly separating
the two (2) that your arrogant & ignorant DUMB-ASS could name as the
"Ojin" body belonging to Lord Shakyamuni Buddha, and the "Hojin" body as
"the enlightenment of the Buddha encapsulated in the Daimoku" which
could only belong to the True Buddha who possessed & taught it -
Nichiren Daishonin!

So, that really shoots both of your above STUPID, HERETICal HBS (mess!)
- Happi/Honed Bullsh*t Slingers - theories right thru the grease, Marc
you HBS (mess!) INcompetent "lay priest" - an IDIOT! ROTFL.
---------------------------------------------------------------

And only the words of this "god" are real budhism [sic]. Buddhism has a

flow. and a lineage. It is people trying to change the world not find

bliss on the lap of some onmipotent [sic] being.<<
---------------------------------------------------------------

>>> Then you deny "NIchiren" Sho Shu's theory of NIchiren Hombusturon

[sic]? <--- #2.

2) RC comments: Answer - "Yes," that's right, FOOL! LOL.

Because, there really is NO Nichiren Shoshu doctrine/ teaching, NOT
"theory," of "Nichiren Hom-b-u-s-t-uron" - that's just Dr. Marc the
Moron's "bust-ur- on," the little HBS (mess!) laypriest's brassiere that
you put on your bust! ROTFL.
---------------------------------------------------------------

>>> The Daishonin as omnipresent etc. and the "real" eternal Buddha.
<--- #3.

3) RC comments: See above #s 1 & 2. This is just No-thing [Zen] but
more of the same God-oriented, HERETICal HBS (mess!) - Happi/Honed
Bullsh*t Slingers real MISunderstanding about the Daishonin as expressed
by the real INcompetency & STUPIDITY of Marc Strumpf, aka. MarcInMD,
nka. Dr. Marc the Moron! ROTFL.

Although there really is NO God-oriented doctrine or teaching about "the
Daishonin as [being] omnipresent, etc." in "real Nichiren Buddhism," the
Nichiren Shoshu, He IS believed as being the "real eternal Buddha", NOT
Lord Shakyamuni Buddha; because the FACT is that it was He, Nichiren
Daishonin, NOT Lord Shakyamuni Buddha, who gave the world His own
"enlightenment of the Buddha (Himself) encapsulated in the Daimoku" of
the Lotus Sutra - the Gohonzon & Dai-Gohonzon!
---------------------------------------------------------------
Marc:

>>> It's funny how confused former SGIers now in "Nichiren" Sho Shu
switch up between "NIchiren" Sho Shu idea's [sic] of the transcendence

of Nichiren and their SGI Hongaku "no spiritual realm/mechanical

Buddhism." <--- #4.

4) RC comments: See above #s 1 thru 3. Well, "it's funny how confused
former SGIers" like you, Marc Strumpf, who are "now in" that
God-oriented, HERETICal HBS (confused mess!) "switch up between"
Mahayana Buddhism's "ideas of the transcendence of" a Buddha and
God-oriented, non-Buddhism's ideas of "transcendence," Dr. Marc you
Moron! ROTFL.
---------------------------------------------------------------

>>> It must be like being on a roller coaster ride to hell. <--- #5.

5) RC comments: See above #s 1 thru 4. Do tell, FOOL! LOL.

Since you are such an arrogant & ignorant, LYING-ASS, low life
conditioned, DUMB-ASS member & "laypriest" of that God-oriented,
HERETICal, HBS (confused mess!) - Hon Butsuryu Shu, nka. Happi/Honed
Bullsh*t Slingers sect of UNreal Nichiren Buddhism, then it really must
be like "being on a roller coaster ride to hell," Marc Strumpf, aka.

Thanks for the "guidance." But it contridicts how you originally posted

Anger never crossed my mind. It's obvious that you condsider anyone who
calls you on your new-age philosophy to be somehow "angry."

Not at all. But who are you to decide? Do you have psychiatrist on staff to
discern if a potential member is mentally ill? What about the psychiatrists
themselves? You're walking on thin ice here, Marc.

> All I am saying is that ....Its not a pretty picture that you boys paint .

Your opinion. Be sure and go by the person, not the Law, Marc and try to get
others to do so, too ...(Marc's discriminatory "debate/shakubuku"
technique). If it weren't for Osaki's foreknowledge, none of the original
hippies would have been allowed to practise in DC. Most of the Japanese
ladies were not happy with the pot smoking and then giving an experience
routine. The wanted us OUT. You wouldn't be posting on this newsgroup if it
wasn't for Osaki allowing the crazy, drugged up hippies to receive Gohonzon
and practise. As much as Reginald might get under my skin, I feel he has a
right to a Gohonzon and a right to practise, as I do you, too. It's up to
you when you start.

The fact is that everyone's life comes to an end..it is how one deals with the
last moment that is important not the circumstances, although we would all like
to live long fulfilling lives our past slanders must be paid for. it is far
better to pay for them now than wait for harsher effects in the next lifetime.
There are people in both the SGI and in the NST who have come to the untimely
end of their life but who can honestly say they are able to state the meaning
of that. Cause and effect is a complicated thing and not to be confused with
utilitarian notions or western philosophical ideas about the relationship
between them based on linear concepts of time. The important caues and effect
is the daimoku which enables us to lessen our evil karma.
Using the unfortunate accident or death from illness of another human being as
an argument for anything shows a profound disrespect for all human life IMHO.
We should shed tears for anyone who cannot find Buddhism and do our utmost to
lead them to the Gohonzon--if they reject Buddhism we must still care for them
as the Daishonin says in the Gosho The Gift of Rice.

And in this world doing the utmost means throwing aside ones self and
devoting oneself to personal practice, aimed at others benefit as much as
your own. But that is not politically correct to many and most of society.
Surgery is needed. Compassionate but vigorous Shakubuku campaigns is
required and this is only done in the setting of united groups. But on and

The Life of Gotama Buddha [a website]

(exerpted from THE TEACHING OF BUDDHA, THE BUDDHIST BIBLE)

She was the daughter of the
King's uncle who was also a king of the neighboring division of the same
Shakya clan. For twenty years they had no children, then, after dreaming
a strange dream of an elephant entering her side, Queen Maya became
pregnant. The King and the people looked forward with joyful expectancy

to the birth of a royal child. According to their custom, the Queen

returned to her own home for the birth, and while on the way, in the
beautiful spring sunshine, she rested in the flower garden of Lumbini

Park. All about her were Asoka blossoms, and in delight she reached out
her right arm to pluck a branch, and the Prince was born. All expressed

their heartfelt delight and extolled the glory of the Queen and her
princely child; even Heaven and Earth manifested their joy. This
memorable day was the eighth day of April. The joy of the King was
extreme as he named the child: Siddhartha, which means, "Every wish
fulfilled."

2. In the palace of the King, however, delight was quickly followed by
sorrow, for after a few days lovely Queen Maya suddenly passed away.
Fortunately her younger sister, Prajapati became the child's foster
mother and brought it up with loving care.

A hermit, who lived in the mountains not far away, noticing
a glory about the castle and interpreting it as a good omen, came down
to the palace and was shown the child.

One spring day, he went out of the castle with his father

and they were watching a farmer at his plowing; he noticed a bird flying
down to the ground and carrying away a little worm which had been thrown
out of the ground by the farmer's plough. He who had lost his mother so
soon after his birth, was deeply affected by the tragedy of these two
little creatures. He sat down in the shade of a tree and thought about
it, whispering to himself:

"Alas! Do all living creatures kill each other?"

This spiritual wound was deepened day after day as he grew
up; like a little scar on a young tree, the sufferings of human life
were more and more deeply carved into his mind.

The King was increasingly worried as he recalled the
hermit's prophecy and tried in every possible way to cheer the Prince
and to turn his thoughts in other directions. At the age of nineteen,
the King arranged the marriage of the Prince to the Princess Yasodhara,
who was the daughter of Suprabuddha, Lord of Koliya castle and a brother
of the late Queen Maya.

6. From this time on, the Prince was known by different names; some

spoke of him as Buddha, the Perfectly Enlightened One; some spoke of him
as Shakyamuni, the Sage of the Shakya clan; and still others spoke of
him affectionately as the Blessed One.

From there, he went about the country living on alms and
persuading men to accept his way of life, and men responded to him as
thirsty men seek water and hungry men seek food. Two great teachers,
Sariputra and Maudgalyayana, and their two thousand disciples came to
him.

At first the Buddha's Father, King Suddhodana, suffering
inwardly from his son's retirement, held aloof, but afterward became his
faithful disciple; and Maha-Prajapati, the Buddha's step-mother, and the
Princess Yasodhara, his wife, and all the members of the Shakya clan,
believed in him and followed him. And multitudes of others became his
devoted and faithful followers.

7. For forty-five years, the Buddha went about the country preaching and

persuading men to follow his way of life, but at last, at Vaisali on the
way from Rajagriha to Sravasti, he became ill and predicted that after

three months, he would enter Nirvana.
