Starting late tomorrow morning (EST) the new moon will slide in line
between the Earth and the Sun for a rare solar eclipse.
The shadows will be most pronounced in Baffin island, where nearly
three-quarters of the sun's diameter will be covered.
As for the world's major cities, the partial solar eclipse will be
greatest--at about 60%-- in Toronto and Montreal according to NASA
projections.
By nightfall the sun will have returned to its norm.
End of the first millennium or just another eclipse?

The solar eclipse is underway here in Canada which will cover 60% of the
sun and give us a few eerie shadows. Next eclipse of this magnitude on
Dec 25th will be in 300 years. See y'all later.

RC comments: You asked and I quote, "End of the first millenium or just

Answer - that was just another eclipse, NOT the "end of the first (1st)
millenium, FOOL! Was that a trick question or just another "Dumb
Blondie" question, Dr GreenG?! ROTFL.

FYI - the "end of the first (1st) millenium" on the present-day western
calendar was almost 1,000 years ago on what could have been after
Midnite on Dec 31st, 1000 AD!

Now, what "y'all" really need is a few more degrees of heat to feel, not
"a few eerie shadows," to see a solar eclipse in Can'tada, which has
"eclipsed" owing (the) U.S. $99 billion Yankee dollars, Dr. GreenG!

RC comments: 1) You said, "chill out"?! That's all we've been doing
here in the Windy City ever since y'all sent your very "chilly" and
viciously cold-ass weather down here to invade the "lower 48" states two
(2) weeks ago instead of making IT stay there, and I just threw my back
out trying to shovel out y'alls' Can'tadian snow! LOL.

Therefore, as the new president-elects future Can'tadian chief foreign
policy advisor, I have so informed him of this and he considers it to be
an act of insurrection & treason against U.S., especially since he feels
that y'all are just a suburban area North of the U.S. which hasn't paid
Up that $99+ billion dollar debt that y'all still owe U.S.! LOL.

Therefore, immediately after he's sworn in as the next U.S. president
and Commander-and-Thief, err I meant Commander-in-Chief, George Dubwa's
gonna tell my cousin's son, Junior, to turn off that Alaskan Pipeline
Can'tadian gas & oil spigot, just like I told you before, of course; and
he's gonna make y'all start buying your gas & oil from his former
governship state of Texas, to pay off some of his backroom campaign
deals, err I mean promises, of course! ROTFL.

Then, y'all Can'tadians will be the ones "chillin' out" for the rest of
this winter, unless y'all pay Up for that "Texas tea" that you're going
to have to buy from U.S., Gus! LOL.

2) Furthermore, you are the one who can keep your anti-American,
snob-bish, little "peanut gallery" theater comment about U.S. there in
Can'tada! Because, we know that it takes the people sitting in the
"peanut gallery" to fill Up the theater for it to be able to "make it or
break it"! And, the "peanut gallery" people have many more times the
number of websites with that name than do the "stage front" folks like
you, FOOL! ROTFL.

<www.quinion.com/words/qa/qa-pea1.htm>
So, I would advise you, to go grab a caribou or two, before George
Dubwa's inaugural day, to use to keep yourselves warm, after the
Can'tadian gas & oil cut off day! [rhymes] LOL. WorldPeace! } : < {

RC comments: Hello, Jussi! At last, a name that rhymes with "quickie,"
automatically! LOL.

1) Re. your comments, Dr "Una" Andrews knows me as a NST/NSH member and
that I am only having fun with her on Arbn: "Where the Fun Never
Stops!", where she is No-thing [Zen] but a"Rookie," first (1st) year
Arbn poster; and as a woe-man, she is definitely in a fe-male minority
in the "Barn" trying to associate with "he-males"! LOL.

So, sometimes she understandably gets mad about having fun with her and
being forced to eat her razz-berries, just like a man who's "got to do,
what a man's got to do," too! LOL.

2) Re. your comments, re. "some other people," in my opinion, they've
just been addicted on Arbn or in the Barn too long and burnt out a long
time ago, but they won't admit it to themselves and leave it to get
well. So, their "humour" has just become as bad, bitter or burnt out as
themselves. And, they've just become AAIBs - Armchair Arbn Internet
Buddhists! LOL.

However, everyone's tastes in humor just does NOT appeal to everyone
else all of the time, as we are all unique as individual participants on
this sorry-assed, poor excuse for a so called "newsgroup"! LOL.

So, it's too bad if "some other people" just take Arbn or the Barn
and/or themselves just too seriously sometimes! LOL.

3) Re. your comments, re. "the subject of the paintings of Nichiren's
life," to clarify that, the issue was NOT whether or not they existed
and I did NOT have "a mistaken opinion" about it!

The specific issue & point that I made about that was that the poster
who wrote about that, John Petry, aka. JonPetry, a member of that
heretical, so called Nichiren Buddhism sect, the Nichiren Shu, nka. the
NSS (mess!) - Nichiren Shu Shysters, Inc, was just lying about those
particular paintings in question being as he wrote, "a series of
paintings issued by Nichiren Shoshu, and a Nichiren Shoshu member posted
them on Arbn a couple of years ago," which was NOT true!

And, the FACT of the matter is/was that the series of paintings of which
one was allegedly "depicting the death scene of Nichiren" Daishonin was
NOT really hundreds of years or done by or for any "eyewitnesses to the
scene," and had actually just been done for a Nichiren Shu lay
organization in 1986! ROTFL.

However, you are certainly correct that there are paintings on display
inside Myorenji temple which I have seen myself when I met the temple's
chief priest and visited there in 1992.

Regardless, I have never seen any replicas of them made and available
for distribution or sale to Nichiren Shoshu members there at that
temple. That simply isn't done, old chap or chapette! LOL.

So, that very, heretical, lying-ass, low life conditioned, dumb-ass
"lawyer," JonPetry, was just lying & trying to be slick, as usual; and I
just caught him trying to do it, as usual! LOL. WorldPeace! } : < {

And, you'll know if "we are still friends," called Zenshi-shiki, if "we

the NST/NSH priesthood & laity, NOT by the way we post on Arbn: "Where

Response to Jussi posting on 12/27/00 - 3:44pm CST+6.

Good day, Jussi! Thank you for your quick response to my message. Now
you know what a "quickie" (message) really is all about to me - just a
speedy reply! LOL.

1) Re. your comments, re. the "complete boxed sets available" from an
unknown temple in Japan of a series of paintings which depicted the life
of Nichiren Daishonin, I will tell you that I am aware of them.
However, they apparently may NOT be exactly the same as, or duplicate
copies of, the ones on the interior walls of Myorenji temple, near the
Head Temple, Taiseki-ji, Fujinomiya City, Japan.

2) So, let me just ask you, are the copies of the set of paintings that
you've seen or have in your possession are just basically colored or
printed in white, black & gray ink?

If so, then they are probably the same set of framed paintings that used
to be on display in the lobby of my NST local temple, Daibeizan
Myogyo-ji, in Warrenville Illinois, USA.

3) However, those still are NOT the same set of recent (1986) paintings
owned & published by a Nichiren Shu lay organization which are on a
couple of Nichiren Shu websites that the poster, John Petry aka.
JonPetry, wrote about and was ass-uming & claiming them to be the same
as the ones that he alleged were "issued by Nichiren Shoshu" and
originally made from the "eyewitness accounts of the death scene."
But, he's always been trying to run a "bluff" on Arbn and giving out
MISinformation to suit his own purposes, and he's been getting away with
it, that is, until I've started "calling" him on it! LOL.

4) Anyway, when the lobby area of NST - Myogyoji was redecorated &
repainted within the past few years (1997-2000), that set of paintings I
just described above used to be on the walls there was taken down and
NOT put back up on them again.

Why? - I do NOT really know. Except, my guess is that maybe it was
because of the fact that we had changed chief priests again in 1996, and
the last one did NOT want for them to be put back up on display for his
own personal reason(s).

5) Well, guess what? We just changed chief priests again (11/11/00), so
maybe those paintings will be put back up in the lobby again, before we
change chief priests again! LOL.

So, as we used to say, in the USA, "The Beat Goes On"! - Sonny & Cher.
LOL. WorldPeace!

To: RC; The prints I have are in colour . They portray the following scenes:
1.the Daishonin holding the statue of Himself in front of Nippo that was
made of the same wood as the Dai-Gohonzon (which is at present housed to the
left of the Dai-Gohonzon in Hoanden)
2.the Matsubagaya ( I'm sure I spelled that one wrong...) persecution where
the Daishonin is attacked by a samurai on horseback
3.April 28th with the Daishonin on clifftop facing the rising sun
4. the Ikegami Transfer scene with the Daishonin handing the Document to
Nikko Shonin
5. the Tatsunokuchi Persecution with the executioners sword falling to
pieces
6.the Daishonin at Sado Island in the snow (my personal favourite)
You can view some of these I think on a site that is linked to from UKPaul's
website with info who painted them etc.
...and yes, they have absolutely nothing to do with the heretical paintings
on NShu website where the Daishonin wears the wrong colour robes etc (it is
I believe said in Nichiren Shoshu that He wore only the grey robes made from
the lowest grade material . i.e. the die came from mud...I hope I am correct
in this...apologies if I'm not)
I very much hope to get more of these prints one day somehow...especially
the one with the Daishonin with the monkeys , which is truly a wonderful
painting...
I hope your Temple gets the prints back up...even if they are different ones
from the colour ones. I remember being totally moved when I first saw them
at Myoren-ji when in the SGI days we never saw any depiction of what He
looked like! I also saw a few of these painted on silk in brighter colours
in the Museum that used to be in the Hoanden before the Dai-Gohonzon moved
there ( and Nikko Shonin's beads etc.).
Best wishes, Jussi.
Strange you put the Beat Goes On (Sonny and Cher) as earlier when I replied
to you I was going to put that in my post, but decided to leave the songs to
the master of the song lyrics...

> Yes I did notice that you didn't call me a "Dumb Blonde" this time but
you have called me that many times in the past Reggie. I don't make
remarks about your hair or your skin colour so why do you think that is
okay to do that with me? That is sheer ignorance. It is also an sexist
remark. We have all heard about those dumb blonde jokes. Anyway we have
been here before. Just want to point out to you that your remarks about
others being sexist and racist are hypocritical.

Certainly I am not going to take this personally-- as I am sure you
wouldn't take it personally if I mentioned your appearance. But such
language is not taken lightly. When anyone calls me or any other woman a
"dumb blonde", "dumb blondie" or anything else that makes allusions to
their appearance in a derogatory sexist manner I am offended at the
remark and embarassed for the person whose misfortune it was to utter
it. Whether we both practice true Buddhism or not does not give you the
right to undermine my intergrity with such personal insults. You are
also putting me at risk--because on the open internet as you know there
are many with perverted minds. Would you rather protect slanderers or
the people of the Hokkeko?

As for ARBN you won't see me hanging around until the spring. Please
spare us with your comments about initiation-- there is no initiation
except to be mildly amused by your African-American colloquialisms and
endure CMK's prolixity. Warning the same people year in and year out is
not my style. So just forget about it.

Screaming " I don't give a fuck!"

Hi Una; I find Reggie really hilarious and he does make some good points
from time to time...unlike some other people here...as opposed to Marc's
"humour" I find Reggie on the ball on the arbn (where the fun never
stops :)...)....except the one time recently on the subject of the
paintings of Nichiren's life of which he seemed to have a mistaken
opinion (the paintings are in existence and you can view them on the
walls of Myoren-ji temple..you can get sets of copies in Japan)....I
wouldn't take his comments to heart about Canada...he's just having fun
with you...Best wishes, Jussi. "greengables<<<<

A quickie for Jussi from Stoney. Re. Jussi posting on 12/27/00 -
7:42pm CST+6.

Hello, Jussi. Thanks for your reply, "old chap"! : - )

1) Re. your comments, then the prints or copies paintings that you have
in colour and depict different scenes in Nichiren Daishonin's life are
completely different from the ones that used to be on display in the
lobby of NST - Myogyo-ji.

I'm sure that I have ever seen the same set of paintings/prints that you
described from #1 to #6 below. So, I will hope & look forward to a
Nichiren Shoshu Temple being built in the U.K. and the complete set that
you first told me about being put Up on display there, for their first
time, for me to come to see them!

And, I think that we have now proven that the NSS - Nichiren Shu
Shysters, Inc series of paintings that JonPetry referred to that were on
those Nichiren Shu websites are NOT the same as the ones that we have
actually seen on display in NST - Nichiren Shoshu Temples, so "the
defense rests its' case on that, your Honor"! LOL.

2) Re. your comments, re. "The Beat Goes On" - Sonny & Cher, maybe it's
NOT so strange, if one or both of us is/are "psychic," (or "psycho") to
have thought about the same song at the same time! LOL.

Well, I thought of it because the cable tv music station program called
"Behind the Scenes" just ran the story of Cher's life again last night
which included her experience as part of the "Sonny & Cher" duo, of
course. Well, poor, old Sonny's gone (passed away) now, but "The Beat
(Life) Goes On" which may just turn out to be their most "Unforgettable"
(Nat "King" Cole) song. WorldPeace! } : < { 0

To: RC; The prints I have are in colour . They portray the following
scenes:

1. the Daishonin holding the statue of Himself in front of Nippo that

was made of the same wood as the Dai-Gohonzon (which is at present
housed to the left of the Dai-Gohonzon in Hoanden)

2. the Matsubagaya ( I'm sure I spelled that one wrong...) persecution
where the Daishonin is attacked by a samurai on horseback.

3. April 28th with the Daishonin on clifftop facing the rising sun.

4. the Ikegami Transfer scene with the Daishonin handing the Document to

Nikko Shonin.

5. the Tatsunokuchi Persecution with the executioners sword falling to

pieces.

6. the Daishonin at Sado Island in the snow (my personal favourite) You

can view some of these I think on a site that is linked to from UKPaul's
website with info who painted them etc.

..and yes, they have absolutely nothing to do with the heretical
paintings on NShu website where the Daishonin wears the wrong colour
robes etc (it is I believe said in Nichiren Shoshu that He wore only the
grey robes made from the lowest grade material . i.e. the die came from
mud...I hope I am correct in this...apologies if I'm not)

I very much hope to get more of these prints one day
somehow...especially the one with the Daishonin with the monkeys , which
is truly a wonderful painting...

I hope your Temple gets the prints back up...even if they are different
ones from the colour ones. I remember being totally moved when I first
