The past couple of days have been very busy. The whole house is
painted a neutral that to me looks a pale peach. The only room we did
before moving in was the master bedroom. So, last week I painted the
ceiling and trim in the lower bathroom and wallpapered 3 walls. The
wallpaper looks like old newspaper ads. I haven't wallpapered in
years so was pleased at how well it went. The fourth wall is the
accent wall. The back door has been an ongoing paint job. It took
more than the weekend trying to work around allowing enough time to
dry so we could close it at night time. I opted for a wooden apple
garland running corner to corner on the door window rather than a
wreath. Complimenting the garland is a plaque just outside the door
that reads "Enter With a Happy Heart Welcome" decorated with an apple
motif. I found some very realistic looking fake apples to sit in a
basket on top of the dryer to finish off the look. Yesterday, I
started in the back entry/laundry room/furnace room. Talk about multi
uses for such a small space! I painted the trim and ceiling. Today,
I will finish the painting and hang wallpaper with matching border.
Working around that furnace is a definite pain!

Clutter Out:
- a large box of odds and ends, wire coat hangers
- bag of clothes: used the one year rule
- metal step ladder that for me was dangerous: replace with nice new
Rubbermaid step stool
- garden hat that had seen better days that had been hanging on the
window of the back door
- cleaned up brush, removed 2 junk trees, and wild grape vine: truck
was overloaded but felt good watching DH take it to the burn pile

Great work Dessy. I run shy from wallpapering, it is so tricky, so
well done you, I like the sound of the design too, it sounds unusual.

Nice going on the decluttering too.
