Today I cleaned out the bathroom cabinets and
threw out a large garbage bag of stuff and
rearranged the stuff we still have. I also put
contact paper on two of the shelves. Vacuumed
but I didn't clean anything else in there.

Went to the store today and got curtains and rods
for the back bedroom. I also got some clothes
this week at WalMart and some at our little
discount store. Mostly warm stuff, long
underwear, sweats, flannel pjs, gloves. Picked
out a brisket and a turkey for DH to cook for
Christmas, one for my family, one for his.

You can't have everything. . . where would you put
it?

We are keeping up on things fine around here; with plans to move once we get
a house, we're trying not to accumulate excess "stuff," and I've actually
gone through and tossed/given away even a bit more that I thought I wanted
to keep at first.

Re: warm stuff for chilly temps, I've been looking for a replacement for my
ragged long undies, and no one around here seems to carry them (small town).
So I got online and found an army/navy surplus website, and ordered four
each long undie pants/shirts that are polar fleece, which I've heard good
things about. (Thankfully, they had them in black, so I didn't have to go
olive drab.) They should come about Wednesday; $14 each piece plus 10%
discount and free shipping. We do still keep the heat low here (though this
apt. is *much* better insulated than my last one), and SO is much "warmer"
than I am, comfy in shirt sleeves or maybe just a sweatshirt even if it's 60
in here. :-)

When it's chilly, I love to settle into my comfy chair with a hot water
bottle and a fleece blanket. After some consideration, I just got one
of those Snuggie blankets, the ones with arms (kind of like putting on a
robe backwards). The idea seemed a bit silly at first, but it really
does help keep you warmer because you can hold a book, use the TV
remote, or grab your cup of tea, without having to pull your arms out
from underneath the warm blanket to do those things, as they're covered
with the sleeves and stay warm.

Why not just put your robe on backwards? :-)

I need to be able to move around and stay "covered," though, so one of those
wouldn't be practical for me. I've always just worn long underwear and sweats
in the winter at home so as to keep the heat crankd down.

My robe comes down to my knees, but last year I
kept getting fully dressed then putting the robe
on over my clothes because I was still cold even
with the heat cranked up. This year I got long
underwear and sweats so I'm warm and look better,
plus the warm comes with me when I'm up and
around. DH still says it's hot in here.

this is an area dh and idon't agree on at all, i would prefer to keep it as
close to oujtside as possible, sixty in winter and eighty in summer, but
alas he has the cats on his side so i get out voted, tiger is getting on in
years, and the vet says while tv doesn't have to have it hot he shouldn't be
below sixty six or sixty eight because of his heart issues now, Lee
