Yep... looked at rationalism, dialectical materialism and logical
positivism-
in the end a lot of things just won't make sense!
Not fair.
People may "behave" like idiots, but they do enough things right (as a rule)
not to be considered idiots. Except for the ones I think are idiots.

Yes I know exactly what you are saying here. It is especially
important when talking to children so they don't feel like they are
being labeled.

and it's good to see you back too Oly.

It sounds like re-framing, which is a way of constructing a way of
looking at something that renders is as acceptable as possible.
I have nothing against re-framing, in fact, I use it a lot. I think
that 100 years ago, this would be what was meant by referring to
having a charitable spirit. There's never anything new under the
sun, just different words!
But there are some things in life that there is no possible way for
me to re-frame to make acceptable to me or to keep it from getting
to me. So I continue to work on my ability to forgive and, I
believe, the advantage to me is that it improves me as a person.
Something I read recently really struck me: forgiveness is not a
single act, it is a series of decisions. So at first maybe I have to
make the decision to forgive every three minutes. After a while, I
can go five minutes without needing to re-make that decision. And
then maybe half an hour.
One thing that helps me to forgive is to remember all the times I've
been given a kindness without earning it. My life has been full of
such things and it behoves me to pay it forward.

Praying is not natural for me. Stop bringing everything down to your
fanatical religious level. I am not interested!

ps: to anybody reading this who doesn't know the characters on this
newsgroup and wonders if I'm deliberately trying to provoke, well you
could be right but Notorious and I are friends and it's not him I'm
trying to wind up and I know he knows that. :)
