Id agree with the last post.
Ive had a Colorado since February,
I love it.
Agree with the Battery consumption too.
I have a Garmin 60c Before and the only other feature the Colorado
appears to be missing is the Proximity Circle feature

An interesting variant to visit as many exact lat-longs as you can,
although many are in boring oceans or difficult polar regions.
One contest is to do all in the continuous US states.

I personally prefer the old style, which requires a knowledge of
orienteering. I've done a small bit of geocaching with the GPS and find it
to be not very challenging. I only carry my GPS when I'm doing work for the
Endangered and Non-game Species Program - they require it for marking
species location. I'm not knocking GPS by any means, but would never rely on

Yes letterboxing and geocaching probably have as much in common as they have
not.
Still another example (though a stretch :0) )
Not sure many folks know how to use a compass any more.
PC Medic
Geocaching With Navicache
[link]

I don't know anything about the iPhone, but I know that you don't
really need waypoint projection. If you are at point X and want to go
YYY feet in the direction ZZZ degrees, you just set point X as your
GOTO point and then go in the direction ZZZ-180 (or ZZZ+180) degrees
for YYY feet. I find this is typically more accurate than an actual

Here in Britain geocaching was invented one hundred and fifty four
years ago by James Perrot. Dartmoor is the area famous for it. In
those days you had to find the "letterbox" without a gps. It's
called letterboxing here, although American style geocaching has also
arrived
Jeremy Parker
