however, i saw this on their website:
http://www.hennessyhammock.com/use-as-a-tent.html
and i was wondering if anyone has had any experience using hiking
poles as a support.
will retractable hiking poles be of sufficient strength to hold a
person?, what about just wooden poles. anyway, looking for people who
has experience converting the hennessey hammock into a tent as well.
thanks in advance

Cant help you
But I've thought abt a Hennessy Hammock as only tent as
well... I do bicycle touring..... and my main fear was
being in a place with no support for it
Google on this string and you'll find many comments.
"hammock ultralight reviews"
Alternatively, try "ultralight backpacking".
Every time it has rained, I have gotten a little wet (but never
very wet.) You have to set up the tarp very carfully to avoid the
rain. One problem I just figured out and have yet to fix is that my
foam pad's corners push the edges of the tent out past the tarp, so I
will trim the pad be mummy shaped.
I have the Snake Skins and I find it very easy to set up. I "free
camp" about half the time, and tromp through the woods until I find
two trees about the width of my out-stretched hiking poles wide and
set it up. The very first time I used it I set it up in the dark with
only a small LED headlamp and had no problems.
It is easy to tie stuff to the ridge line (the rope running
through the center that you are hanging from) I usually hang my shoes,
a water bottle, my hat, a LED headlamp.
Good Luck!
