Southern California trail restoration volunteer opportunity

This web page covers a trail restoration project scheduled to take
place August 22, 23, and 24. It's a two-night sleep over in the
Crystal Lake Recreation Area which is currently closed due to the
aftermath of the 2002 Curve Fire and the 2005 floods.

This past Saturday I did another survey to get the general condition
of the trail and to determine what the effort would be like. This is
going to be a difficult job however the crew will have the backing of
the professional San Gabriel Mountains Trailbuilders with them along
with radio contact with the USFS, San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team,
and other agencies to ensure project safety.
