This was revealed to me in what I call "divine inspiration," which is
more or less common sense. Never mind the "experts" who have passed a
law that cars can pass us as close as 3 feet. That's something
intangible and insignificant. Probably they were confused by the
conversion from metric to old fashioned English system, when the foot
of the King would dictate how long it should be for everybody. Now the
English themselves have "converted" to the metric system. That puts in
question the way Americans measure things and calls for the 3 meter
space for cyclists, if not for the metric system. But we admit no
confusion when it comes to saving human lives and making our roads
safe for all.
In other words WE CAN TAKE THE LANE.
NOTE: For those who may ignore how many feet is 3 meters, it amounts
to 9 feet. That's LIVING SPACE.
