I recently heard a song at a rave that contained some cuts from the "Phantom
of the Opera" theme song. Does anybody know what the name of this song is or
who it is by? Is it available on any compiliation CD's?

Phantom of the Opera by Harajuku is what I believe you are looking for. I know
it is available on Chris Sheppard's Techno Trip 3: Still Tripping. If you are
in Canada, you can find it easily. If not, you'll probably pay import prices
(i.e. too much) All of Shep's comps are pretty good (although the first two
are now pretty old).

The song in question is _The Phantom of the Opera_ by Harajuka (or something
like that, what kind of name is that anyway? :) Its available on Still
Trippin' Techno 3, a compilation arranged by Toronto DJ Chris Sheppard and
released on Quality Records...

When was the song technically "released"? I caught a guy on the Radio stating
that he thought that the song would do really good and that they had "just"
gotten it.

I went to a music store two days later and bought the CD single. So, I was
curious as to when the song was technically released, since obviously others
have heard it as well. :)

Thanks...

Afraid I can't help you much here. The release date of the compilation is
1992. I believe Techno Trip 3 was out toward the end of the year. However,
the songs on the CD are all pretty recent so it should be a fairly recent
track.

I'll check up on it tonight and if I find anything out I'll let you know.

Yes, Techno Trip 3 came out around the end of last year, but I heard Shep
play this on the radio (back when he was at cfny) approximately a year ago,
so if it was on the radio a year ago, the track is probably a few months
older than that.

It's also on Techno Trax Vol. 5, though it was a slightly different version
from the one I've heard on the dance floor. I found Techno Trax at Best Buy
in the import section. It is from Germany, contains 2 discs, and was $20.99.
The comp seems to have something to do with MTV Germany, and has a couple of
German language tracks on it, but overall I didn't think this CD was a bad
purchase, especially at approx. $10.50/apiece for import CDs.

I think it would be beneficial to us all if we compiled a list of E's and what
exactly is inside them as now days you can't be sure what your buying. I'll
start the ball rolling with what I BELIEVE are in the different E's

'E' Ingredients

China White MDMA, Smack, Ketamine (or acid not sure)
Yellow Biscuits MDMA, smack
Clear capsules MDMA, speed
Rhubarb + Custards MDMA (Very limited quantities)
Blue Barrels MDMA, speed
White Doves MDMA
Love Doves MDMA

Anyone got anymore ?

White Burgers MDMA, speed
Black & Red Varies - MDMA, Speed, Cocaine
Snowball MDMA, lots of Smack (leaves you monged out)

Snowball is very prevolant in Birmingham recently, led to New Religion
club night slowing it's trance down to a grind a couple of times. It
gets around that much.

Out of curiosity, is this from lab analysis, from the effects, or
"common knowledge"? Speed makes sense, but an effective oral dose
of heroin is pretty expensive. Of course, MDMA isn't cheap either...

Actually heroin is cheaper in volume than just about anything (except
maybe pot). A point goes for around $30-40 here, and you get 3 or 4 big
rigs out of that.. If you did a point orally you'd be fucked for the
night if you weren't a junkie. The expense only becomes a major factor
if you're rigging 50 times a day...

From what I've heard, MDA is cheaper, and is finding it's way into
a lot of tabs these days. With fewer empathogenic qualities, it seems
consistent with some of the "crap" I've had recently. If by smack, you
mean cocaine, I doubt seriously if anyone is cutting X with coke. That's
just money in the toilet. There's no doubt that most tabs are cut these
days with some type of speed...most likely ephedrine.
