Whatever happened to the group Live Squad?

If I remember correctly they had a single called "Heartless", which sampled
a Scarface track. Then they disappeared for awhile. They then reappeared
on 2PAC's _Strictly For My N.I.G.G.A.Z..._ album on acouple of tracks.
These guys could really rip the mic with their hardhitting style.
Somebody, Anybody, let me know if you know anything.

Out Y'all,
K.D.

I've asked this question before and have had a hard time getting
responses. I called Tommy Boy about a year ago and they said a release
date was unknown. They never did give me a straight answer. Its probably
time someone gives them another call. My guess is they got in trouble
for "Murderahh," which is also on the single. The third verse of that
song is, to say it lightly, anti-police. They were probably kicked off
the label, although if you look on _Stictly..._ it says Live Squad
appears courtesy of Tommy Boy. The other thing I read was how their
mini-movie _A Game of Survival_ came out. The Source mentioned it and I
have also had trouble locating that. I tried one video store that said
it was discontinued. Their album is supposed to be the soundtrack to the
movie. I've been waitin for any word on them for a long time.
"Heartless" is THE best song ever made. It is tremendous. If you already
have the single and the tracks on 2Pac, check out the maxi-single for
"Holler If Ya Hear Me." The B-side has a song called "Flex" which Live
Squad produces and raps. Gotta give Tommy Boy a call...

I definetly gotta wonder about this mini-movie thing... the video I saw for
Heartless was to put it lightly INCREDIBLE. It didn't hurt that it was a
great song to begin with but the video really hammered it home: young boy,
good student, comes home finds parents have slain each other in a fight,
crumpled straight A report card falls to the ground... next, he is a young
buck on the streets, snatchin purses just to make ends meet, one second he
is looking down a gun and somebody, then they flip the script, now he's an
O.G. with a rep, he wears expensive suits and drives big cars, apparently
he's making big money in the dope game, and he gets set up by a trick bitch
who hides a gun under the pillow and pulls it while they are making love.
The video makes perfect sense... he goes from ambitious youngster with a
future to Heartless thug who lives a fast life with a quick death. If you
could put Boyz n the Hood, Menace II Society, and New Jack CIty all
together in a blender, and puree and pour out three minutes worth which is
almost BETTER than all of them, it gives you a small idea of how much I
like this video. And like I said, it really doesn't hurt that I'd rate the
song with a pH 6 out of 6. The dissapearance of Live Squad is just another
thing we can chalk up on the infamous record of mr. metal wannabe rap
skillz totally detoriorated once dope now sucks Ice-T.

The actions of one man alone fucked up: Live Squad, Almighty RSO, Kool G
Rap and DJ Polo, Paris, Boo-Yaa Tribe, Tragedy the Intelligent Hoodlum, and
more...

Can you give me the digits for Tommy Boy, or can you give me the location
and # of the place I have the best chance of finding anything by them. I'm
very isolated up here in the UP of MI., so I'm away from the shit in Detroit
or Flint, so please give me post back!!!!

Peace Out, Dawg!!!!!

Yo I see your point of view but you is definitly takin the shit too far.
We gotta look at both sides of the story.
look Ice T says that he aint selling out bcoz rock'n'roll is trully black
music. So in a way he is tryin to take back what was taken away in the
first place.
On the other side we got people who think that he simply wants to make $$$
from BodyCount but I dont think so.

I dont think Ice T has sold out by using different music. His messages
havent changed all that much over the years unlike some.

For example Dr Dre in express yo self says

'never smoke weed'

and now he comin out with the chronic and all that shit.

People like Snoop ( even though he has the flow !) or Cypress Hill are just
cashing in on Hoe this Hoe that gimme blunt gimme gat etc.

I aint dissin them I'm just sayin tha Ice T aint done nuttin bad by
experimenting with different music styles.

For example Vanilla the biggest sellout ever never experimented with
different music style yet he was a sellout because he didnt know what
the fuck he was talkin about.

Some people in the industry these days are doin a Vanilla. However it aint
so obvious.

Out of all Ice T's albums he has only had one bad one and thats 'Home
Invasion'. You cant expect a man to come out with the shit all the time!

Hence why I'm sayin Ice T is still cool however I'm waitin to see what
his next rap album delivers coz if he fucks this one up then I'll know
that the heavy metal shit if fuckin him up.

I belive that Chuck Berry is considered to be the father of rock n roll. So
it is true that rock n roll does have black roots and the style was used by
many white musicans. So, there's no shame in T's game.
