Is there a website where I can find out which channels a specific area uses?

Also does anyone know what channels are used in the Appledore, Bideford
area?

Look at
http://www.radio.gov.uk/publication/ra_info/ra264/ra264.htm
and you will find all.

Marine channels are nationwide (and beyond.)

You will find a list covering most locations around the coast
downloadable from my web site in .PDF format.

Just click on the VHF UK Maritime Bases link in the menu.

When I saw the subject line, I thought it was an OT posting about those
chaps with white helmets who play musical instruments.

Strictly speaking, the name is "The Band of Her Majesty's Royal
