Hi,

Arthur C Clarke wrote his famous article 'Extra Terrestrial Relays' 60
years ago next month. This was a radical proposal at a time when no
rockets had left the earth's atmosphere let alone put a satellite into
any sort of orbit. Geo-stationary satellites would not become possible
until 1972, and are now a widely used way of broadcasting and providing
telecommunications for large areas of the globe.

I was lucky enough to find an original copy of the magazine, and I have
now put it up for sale on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6977994289

If you have a look at the listing you will see I have included some
high-resolution scans from the magazine, feel free to download these to
your own web sites.

There is bound to be much interest in this auction, I hope the magazine
will end up on display either in the home of Arthur C Clarke fan, or a
museum, or at a telecoms or broadcasting company.

Regards,
John
