Swift Current, Saskatchewan before becoming one of Canada's best-known
poets. In her recently released book, Small Beneath the Sky, Crozier
writes about her upbringing…particularly her tough-and-tender mom.
THEN, author Jane Christmas joins the program to talk about her
extraordinary trip to Italy with her mother. The journey was an

5. CANADA LIVE:
It’s all in the family this week on Canada Live…with concerts
featuring brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, and more. After
all, a family that plays together, stays together!
On tonight’s program… Winnipeg favourite Nathan is an urban-rootsy
quartet with guitars, banjo, accordion, bass and drums. Their musical
blend is topped by the sweetest vocals - and enhanced, unusually, by
the theremin. The band features husband and wife team Keri and Devin
Latimer…with Shelley Marshall and Damon Mitchell rounding out the
group. This evening, they play for an adoring audience at Winnipeg’s
Park Theatre with a homespun sound that captures the duality of the
prairies.
Nathan delivers a performance that’s at once contemporary and old-
fashioned, dark and light, lonely yet cozy. That’s on Canada Live…
tonight at 7:00 p.m. (7:30 NT) on CBC Radio 2.
