This week on Saturday Afternoon at the Opera, it’s the operatic
adaptation of The Fly. It tells the tale of the physical and
psychological mutation of a brilliant scientist named Seth Brundle…who
turns into a hybrid of man and fly after one of his experiments goes
horribly wrong. During world premiere productions in Paris and Los
Angeles, Canadian bass baritone Daniel Okulitch bares his soul in his
portrayal of Brundle. Two fellow Canadians are the creative team
behind the operatic adaptation of the story: composer Howard Shore -
of Lord of the Rings fame - and acclaimed film director David
Cronenberg,
