of the boys?
You'll find out in a documentary profiling three women who helped
build the Olympic Village in Vancouver. Hear how they're trying to
renovate construction culture. That's on In The Field with host David
Gutnick, today at 1:00 p.m. (1:30 NT) on CBC Radio One.

3. YOUR DNTO:

Today on Your DNTO… Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam... but
if you can't make it there, how do you fight homesickness? We'll find
out this week. Chris Thurber researches, writes and educates health
and camp professionals about homesickness. He'll tell us what he's
learned.... "Close your eyes and think of home." Those were the
instructions photographer Ian Paterson gave to the subjects in a
series of portraits called "Home." So what does a person look like
when they're mentally transported home? Plus, DNTO listeners share
their stories of feeling homesick - and how they got over it. All that
and more on Your DNTO with host Sook-Yin Lee, today at 2:00 p.m. (2:30
NT) on CBC Radio One.

5. IDEAS:

For more than four billion years, ever since comets first crashed into
the Earth, ice has been inextricably linked to life on this planet.
From cold-hardy microbes to freeze-resistant frogs, nature has evolved
many tricks for survival. Even human beings have learned to adapt to
the challenges - and opportunities - of life with ice. Now, as
glaciers shrink, and ice vanishes from the polar seas, Richard Longley
takes us back to our icy roots, rekindling wonder for this alluring
frozen water. This evening on IDEAS..tonight at 9:00 p.m. (9:30 NT) on
CBC Radio One.

6. CANADA LIVE:

Tonight on Canada Live…Old Man Luedecke is a musician of such hopeful
goodness, poetic sense, and true melodic taste that it is hard to pin
him down to one simple description. In the tradition of solo banjo men
and women of days gone by, Old Man Luedecke usually sings his songs
accompanied only by his loving five string, foot stomps and the
occasional yodel, so on this night it was quite an event to see him up
there on stage backed up by a forty-piece symphony orchestra. The
magic didn't stop there…the night also featured a brand new piece for
banjo, voice and orchestra that was written by the Old Man himself
with Jesse Zubot. That’s on Canada Live, tonight at 7:00 p.m. (7:30
NT) on CBC Radio 2.
