SHEILA SHOTTON
April 28, 1937 Dec. 14, 2009

Sheila Shotton was a breath of fresh air. For many years she worked as a
producer and interviewer on CBC Radio. Fans of the long running Saturday
morning show Fresh Air will remember her interviews with playwrights, authors,
artists and actors. Sheila's passion for the arts was evident in her
professional work and recreation. In addition to collecting contemporary
Canadian art, she was a proud member of the Toronto Friends of the Visual Arts
and the Heliconian Club. She was also a member of the Current Events Club, the
Granite Club and the Toronto Hunt.
Daughter of Dr. John Alison and Evelyn Shotton, Sheila was born in Vancouver
but at an early age moved with her family to Leamington, Ontario. Sheila
passed away peacefully at home in Toronto on Monday, December 14th. At her
side were her beloved husband, Larry Stout, her sister Margaret Meynell, her
nephew Robert and her nieces Andrea and Christina.
A service will be held at CHRIST CHURCH DEER PARK, 1570 Yonge Street (at Heath
Street West), at 11 o'clock on Thursday, December 17th. In lieu of flowers,
donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

I posted news of Sheila Shotton's death at alt.obituaries. One reader
replied - "She was one of those, along with the likes of the late
Peter Gzowski, who made listening to CBC Radio a real morning
pleasure. - Nilita"
