Hello , I am working on two Kenwood TW4000A Transceivers , the radios belong
to an older HAM that has impaired vision , he loves this radio because they
talk Freq. to him and are very helpful in that way , someone else removed
the 3 v. Lithium memory backup batteries and replaced them with an outside
battery pack of two AA size alkaline 1.5 v.bats. to equal the Lith. coin
battery , the man was loosing the pre programmed memory before the bat.
replacement , it seems that the memory will stay forever until he turns the
Astron PS off for the night and back on the next morning and then the 4000
gets scrambled on startup , most of the time it's OK but if it goes out ,
someone has to go over and re program the thing , looks like he should just
leave everything running all the time , any thoughts would appreciated
Thanks
Phil
