10 years ago on my 51st birthday, zappo, got it in the heart.
Thankfully my left arm went numb real quick, so no second guessing. I
have only sympathy for folks here trying to quit. Fear had its place
for me. Dr said in the Hosp the next day that I had to quit, told I
had, he said when I said yesterday (of course). To me without
patches, just the knowledge that the abyss awaited if I picked it up
again was enough. No conciouss effort just the heart attack hangover
I guess. ( I know I did get wierd for a bit, little changes but not
near the knawing monster of before) I wish there was someway you
could instill the sure fear of what awaits (for many) but reality
wins, unless its in your living room its not that pressing. I do want
to say to those trying you can do it and most unreal for me is that I
have gone a whole year (yes a year) without thinking about smoke. You
DO find ways, and good ways, to replace your smoke times with real
actually productive and enjoyable "replacements" (ie "real life
stuff") I just wish more could taste that fear without resultant loss
of health.
Good luck to all
