Sweet indeed!eh Remember, nobody does "the funny" better than the Jews!eheh
The greatest comedic innovators of the 20th century have predominantly been
Jewish: The Three Stooges (b. Horowitz, Feinberg), The Marx Brothers, Woody
Allen (b. Konigsberg), Jerry Seinfeld, Lenny Bruce (b. Schneider), George Burns
(b. Nathan Birnbaum), Jack Benny (b. Benjamin Kubelsky), Milton Berle (b.
Berlinger), Mel Brooks (b. Kaminsky), Danny Kaye (b. Kaminsky), Red Buttons (b.
Chwatt), Rodney Dangerfield (b. Jack Cohen), Joey Bishop, Lorne Michaels (b.
Lipowitz, SNL), Sid Ceasar, Zero Mostel, Andy Kaufman, Joan Rivers (b.
Molinsky), Gene Wilder (b. Jerome Silberman), Mort Sahl, Jerry Lewis (b,.
Jerome Levitch), Gilda Radner, Henny Youngman, Soupy Sales (b. Supman), Alan
King, Billy Crystal, Bud Abbott (mother was Jewish), etc. The list is endless.
All in spite of a religion that comprises a measly 1/4 of 1% (13 million) of
the world's population (6 billion). Jews are so few in number, yet so great in
ability. -D, NYC "This legendary Jewish entertainer was known as 'Mr.
Television' - MILTON BERLE" (b. Berlinger)

How about you learning that the northeast is not the center of the universe,
especially not nyc. Colloquialisms exist you fucking moron. Actually I have
a friend from long island that has fucking bbq fedexed to her because she
had never had any as good as in memphis. There's one thing that we beat you
at here in tennessee, and don't forget those non-jews that started a little
thing called rock and roll at sun studio, either. Or how about fedex? That
was started by a non sweet in memphis tennessee.

>How about you learning that the northeast is not the center of the universe,
>especially not nyc.

Especially not NYC!? LOL! Joey, your uneducated answer is precisely why you
reside next to cow chips, and I reside next to concrete!eheh Firstly, L.I. is
not NYC! DOH! NYC is comprised of 5 boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten
Island, Queens & The Bronx). Secondly, like it or not, NYC is the nerve center
of the nation and the cultural, financial, fashion, theatre, cuisine, retail
and media capital of the world. Home to the United Nations and the Statue of
LIberty. Home to Wall Street and the once great World Trade Center - the eyes
and ears to the world's great finance and trade. Home to Times Square
(crossroads of the world) and Broadway (great white way). Home to three of the
most prestigious musical venues in the world - Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie
Hall & Lincoln Center. Home to MSG (Madison Square Garden) & CGBGs (birth of
punk), where every rock star eventually dreams of performing. Home to every
record label and record producer worth their salt. From SONY to ATLANTIC
(co-founded by sweet Jews - as is most of the major record labels - A&M, CHESS,
ARISTA, GEFFEN, etc.), CLIVE DAVIS (sweet Jew) to TOMMY MOTTOLA. From RECORD
PLANT to ELECTRIC LADYLAND STUDIOS. NYC is also the second home to Hollywood -
over 200 films are shot on location each and every year. In addition to Sex &
The City, Law & Order, Regis & Kelly, David Letterman, Conan O' Brien, Howard
Stern, SNL, Court-TV, CNN NY Studios (Larry King (occasionally), Aaron Brown,
Connie Chung, Paula Zahn), Food Network, MTV Studios (inlcuding TRL & MTV VMA
Awards at Radio City), 60 Minutes, 20/20, Dateline (3 of the most honored &
highly rated news programs), 48 hrs. with Dan Rather, CBS Evening News with Dan
Rather, Tom Brokaw, Barbara Walters, Fox News, NBC, CBS, ABC, etc. As we see,
every major broadcasting network and broadcaster worth their salt hangs their
hat in NYC. I haven't even begun to speak about Madison & 5th & 7th Avenues
(retail/fashion/modeling capital of the world- CK, DKNY, FAO SCWARTZ, RALPH
LAUREN, SAKS - all sweet Jews of course!eh, etc.), Central Park (world's most
famous recreational park), The Rockettes, Empire State Building, Coney Island
(world's most famous amusement park), Park Avenue (world's most expensive real
estate), Brooklyn Bridge, Yankee Stadium (house that Babe Ruth built, world's
most famous baseball stadium). NYC has also produced more celebrities &
notables than any other city in the world. NYC was also the first capital of
America from 1789-90 and was state capital until 1797. On April 30, 1789,
George Washington gave his first inaugural address at Federal Hall, NYC. The
history of NYC alone can go on for eons. i.e. How 'bout in 1683, two of New
York's boroughs were named and formed by The British!? They being: Brooklyn
(Kings County) and Queens. It was done in in honor of England's King Charles II
and his wife, Catherine of Braganza. Today, NYC is still the largest city in
America, and one of the largest in the world! NYC is also one of the most
romanticized cities in film & song. But alas, you've already seen the
lists!eheh Remember, NYC is unlike any other city in the world. When living in
NYC, you do not have to SHLEP to Europe in order to experience culture &
greatness at its finest. This is what separates NYC from every other city in
America. Why else is NY's commemorative State Quarter slogan, "THE GATEWAY TO
FREEDOM STATE?" Why!? Because NYC has always stood as a worldwide symbol of
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. From the millions of immigrants
from centuries past, who flocked to Ellis Island and the port of NY, to the
millions who continue to flock to the greatest city on earth - THE BIG APPLE!
NYC is also the greatest Jewish city on earth. The proud home to over 1.9
million people. Almost two-thirds of the entire American-Jewish population.
Like it or not, anyone with talent, beauty, or money eventually winds up in New
York to find out where they stand against the best of the best. In the end,
very few cities in America & in the world have been able to rival the
consistent excellence that NYC has come to symbolize. Joey, what is that you
once said about learning!? LOL! Joey, break free from the cultural chains that
bind you! Remember, not one knowing individual would dare question the
influence of both the Jewish people and NYC. -D, "I've seen the lights go down
on Broadway..I saw the Empire State laid low.." - BILLY JOEL (New York's very
own sweet Jew)

Joe, math must not be your forte, eh!? Let me see if I have you correct. You
are gloating over 1 record studio that was created by 99% of the non Jewish
world vs. 99% of the Jewish-created record labels by 1% of the Jewish
world?!eeh The list of Jewish pop/rock artists, lyricists, producers, moguls,
runs into the tens of thousands. PUTZ HEAD, it was a Jew by the name of EMILE
BERLINER whose invention (GRAMOPHONE - far superior to Edison's phonograph)
eventually gave way to the modern record industry! DOH! RCA (his baby) is the
granddad of 'em all! DOUBLE DOH! FYI: It was a sweet Jewish DJ who coined the
term "rock n' roll" - ALAN FREED. It was a sweet Jewish music mogul (co-founder
of Atlantic Records) & billboard writer who coined the term r&b - JERRY WEXLER.
From GERSHWIN to BERLIN, BACHARACH to HAMLISCH, DON KIRSCHNER to PHIL SPECTOR,
DYLAN (b. Zimmerman) to SIMON & GARFUNKEL, MAHLER to MENDELSSOHN, the greatest
innovators in the music industry have always been Jewish. As with all Jewish
endeavors, Jews disproportionately saturate every facet of their chosen fields.
The music industry being no exception! i.e. The following Jews made the top 100
selling artists of all-time list: BOB DYLAN (b. Zimmerman), BARBRA STREISAND,
NEIL DIAMOND, SIMON & GARFUNKEL, MICHAEL BOLTON (b. Bolotin), KENNY G. (b.
Gorelick), and BILLY JOEL. Amazing, since we must always factor in their 1/4
of 1% standing in the wold's populous. i.e. If DYLAN, GERSHWIN, BERNSTEIN &
BERLIN had been the only four Jewish musicians to exist, it would be still be
enough to last a thousand lifetime. But alas, it simply doesn't end with those
four. Here's just a taste of some of the Jewish-created labels and music
moguls:

A&M - Herb Alpert, also a musician - trumpeteer for Tijuana Brass
ATLANTIC RECORDS - co-founded by Herb Abramson & Jerry Wexler
ARISTA & J RECORDS - Clive Davis
CHESS RECORDS - Leonard & Phil Chess - the creme de la creme of early r&b
FANTASY - Saul Zaentz, home to CCR, also movie mogul
GEFFEN RECORDS - David Geffen, also of Dreamworks with fellow sweets Spielberg,
Katzenberg & Michael D. Eisner of Disney
MERCURY RECORDS - Berle Adams
RCA - Emile Berliner - originally Victor Talking Machine Company, famous RCA
logo of a dog listening to his master's voice
SIRE - Seymour Stein, division of WB - founded by sweet Jewish Jack Warner -
one of the founding fathers of Hollywood

Funny you should mention such!eh In 1999 alone, NYC welcomed over 36.7 million
tourists, making it the second most popular tourist destination in the USA.
Only second to FLA, and having surpassed Vegas & Los Angeles for that year. In
spite of 9/11, over half a million people (many being tourists) flocked to
Times Square (crossroads of the world) in 2002 to welcome in the New Year.
Billions more watched the famous Times Square ball drop from that tower. As
Dick Clark says, "The entire world turns to Times Square on New Year's Eve!"

Actually when a designer says they freelance, they usually are unemployed.
Hell, I'm doing freelance work now, and tomorrow I'm applying for
foodstamps.

How 'bout MARC CHAGALL? (b. Segal) DOH! One of the great 20th century artists
to have ever existed! As for designing!? Say when and I will bedazzle you with
tens of hundreds of names! DOH!
As JOEY TWIN #2 told you, "Darrin has the lists!" ehehehe

Max Abramovitz - Born, 1908. Abramovitz was born in Chicago. In the
late 1930s, he began his association with architect Willard K.
Harrison. He assisted Harrison with some work on Rockefeller Center.
Together they designed the "Trilon" and "Perisphere". These structures
were the symbols of the 1939 NY World's Fair. Abramowitz entered the
army and designed military installations during WWII. Abramovitz and
Harrison entered into a formal partnership in 1946. Their firm was
selected to design and supervise the construction of the UN
Headquarters building in New York. The actual design was done in
cooperation with several leading architects. Abramovitz, on his own,
designed several important university buildings, synagogues, and
churches in the 1950s and 1960s (incl. chapels at Brandeis
University). The partnership designed NY's Lincoln Center, which
opened in 1962. Philharmonic Hall was designed by Abramovitz. The
partnership's last big job was the "Empire State Plaza" in Albany.
This work was criticized as representing the main flaws of modern
'monumental' architecture--it was too big; too expensive; too "cold";
and not 'people friendly'. The partnership fell apart (1976) while
"Empire Plaza" was still under constuction. The criticism, of course,
extended to the politicians who wanted this type of design.

Dankmar Adler - (1844-1900). Adler was born in Germany and came to the
United States in 1854. His father was a cantor (becoming a rabbi in
the Unites States). Adler was just about to begin his architecture
career when the American Civil War intervened. He served three years
and saw considerable action. Adler's greatest fame came during his
period of partnership with fellow architect Louis Sullivan. They were
among the most important pioneers in developing the modern skyscraper.
Virtually every historian of architecture ranks them among the
greatest architects of the late 19th century. The Auditorium building
and the Carson department store in Chicago are among their
masterpieces. Frank Lloyd Wright was among their pupils and refered to
Adler as "Liebe Meister". Sullivan is usually described as the great
visionary architect. Adler as the top notch engineer who could make
the designs a reality (he also knew how to run an architecture firm).

Marcel Breuer - Born in Hungary in 1902. Breuer was associated with
the famous "Bauhaus" school in Germany. The Bauhaus is famous as one
of the great cradles of modern design. It was closed by the Nazis.
Breuer came to the United States in the middle 1930s. His designs
heavily influenced other American architects. Breuer's American
buildings include The Whitney Museum in New York. Breuer was also a
noted furniture designer. His designs included the Cesca chair,
sometimes just called the Breuer chair. "Everyone" has sat in some
version of this chair (even if you don't know its name). It features a
tubular steel frame and a cane seat and back. When properly made it is
a great chair. Sadly, some "knock-offs" are not very good. The chair
is named after Breuer's daughter, Francesca. There is a picture on the
first link. Another famous piece is the "Wassily" chair. It is a
classic still found in modern homes and offices. It was named after
Wassily Kandinsky, the famous artist. Kandinsky and Breuer were
friends and colleagues at the Bauhaus. (Kandinsky was not Jewish;
ethnic Russian). Breuer died in 1981.

Gordon Bunshaft - Born 1909. Leading architect for Skidmore, Owings,
and Merrill during their glory days, Bunshaft designed the Lever
building in New York as well as the Albert-Knox museum in Buffalo and
the Hirshorn museum in Washington D.C. The Lever building is
considered one of the great masterpieces of modern design and it
established the International Style in NY. Bunshaft was a co-recipient
of the Pritzker Prize for Architecture in 1988.

Peter Eisenman - Born, 1932; Newark, New Jersey. Eisenman is a curious
figure in that he became famous not as working architect; but as a
professor of architecture and a leading architectural critic and
theorist. However, around 1980, he became a working architect and a
number of his projects have been erected around the world. Still more
prototypes of works not yet built have been widely exhibited. His
post-modernist architecture has been lavishly praised by some critics
and less well received by others. He received a 1993 National Honor
Award from the American Institute of Architects for the Wexner Center
at the Ohio State University in Columbus (1989), and a 1991 National
Award for the Koizumi Sangyo Corporation Headquarters in Tokyo (1990).
There is a brief biography of the first link. The second link is to a
fairly comprehensive site dedicated to him, his works, and his
writings. (Added February 2002).

Benno Fischer - Prominent Southern California architect who was a
Holocaust survivor. He designed many buildings, homes, and churches in
the Southern California area. He also designed the Los Angeles
Martyrs' Memorial---which he considered his favorite work. He worked
with prominent architect Richard Neutra. He died, aged 86, in 2000.

Josef Frank - Austrian-Swedish architect. Frank was born in Austria in
1885. In the period after World War I, Frank played a central role in
the development of the Moderne, and in later years, while in exile in
Sweden, he became one of the founders of Swedish Modern design. He
later became a critic of the sterility and banality of the
International Style he had helped create. There is a really
interesting, but not too long piece on Frank, on the following link.
His work, in Austria and elsewhere, has been re-discovered in recent
years. Frank died in 1967.

James Ingo Freed - Born in Germany in 1930, he immigrated with his
family to Chicago in 1939. Freed's most famous building is the US
Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. He also designed the Javits
Center in NYC and the Ronald Reagan Office Building in Washington. His
design was selected for the US Air Force Memorial Monument in
Washington--it will be built in the next few years. The Architecture
of Memory

Robert Geddes - An architect and urban designer, he is Dean Emeritus
of the Princeton University School of Architecture and director of the
Conference on Cities in North America, and editor of its book, Cities
in Our Future (Island Press).

Frank Gehry - Born, 1929, Toronto. Famous innovative architect
(Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain) whose buildings have been often
called works of art. He changed his name from "Goldberg", which he
recently told the NY Review of Books was the, "only thing he
regretted." The Bilbao Guggenheim is so extraordinary that it has been
heralded as one of the masterpieces of the 20thc. The building, more
than the contents, has attracted millions of visitors to a city long
economically depressed. The effect on the economy and spirit of the
capital city of the Basque region has been profound. Gehry was awarded
the Pritzker prize, often called the "Nobel Prize" of architecture, in
1989. He is also the architect of the new rock music museum in
Seattle.(Good article/profile). By the way, Gehry often uses a "curved
fish" design/motif. This is inspired by the carp his Jewish
grandmother kept in the bathtub for Friday night gefilte fish. Third
link takes you to Gehry sculpture on this theme. Gehry is often
described as the world's greatest living architect. He would never
claim this title. However, architects as famous as Phillip Johnson
have dubbed him so.

Percival Goodman - (1904-1990) Goodman was a Professor of Architecture
at Columbia and one of the leading experts in urban design in the
United States. He was also the leading post-war designer or
re-designer of American and Canadian synagogues. He brought the
principles of modern design to synagogue architecture. Scores of
synagogues in North America were designed by Goodman. His brother was
the well known social critic and philosopher, Paul Goodman.

Aaron Green - (1914-2001) American architect who was a close colleague
of Frank Lloyd Wright and a prime exponent of Wright's "organic"
school of architecture. Green was born in Cornith, Mississippi and
raised in Alabama. He studied under Wright and later worked with
Raymond Lowey, the famous industrial designer. Green and Wright opened
a San Francisco architecture office in 1951. From his linked
obiturary, "Green participated in several of Wright's famous designs,
notably the V. C. Morris Store in Maiden Lane (which was later
carefully restored by Mr. Green and renamed Folk Arts International)
and the visionary "Butterfly-Wing" Bridge that was never built across
the lower bay. Perhaps his most important contributions to Wright's
achievement figured in the sweeping horizontal forms, plastic roofs
and mighty arches of the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael.
Officially designated as its associate architect, Mr. Green in some
respects was virtually a co-designer of this palace of modern drive-in
democracy,...In all, he took part in about 30 Wright designs, built
and unbuilt, in Northern California." Green also designed many
important private homes and churches.

Ernest A. Grunsfeld, Jr. - (1897-1970) Grunsfeld came from an old
German Jewish family that settled in the Chicago area in the 1840s.
His great uncle, William Loeb, had a distinguished combat record in
the American Civil War. Grunsfeld was trained at M.I.T.. His most
notable buildings include the Adler Plantarium in Chicago. It was the
first plantarium in the Western Hemisphere and is considered a
masterpiece of Art Deco architecture. It was one of the first museum
buildings to break with the neo-classical designs that dominated
American museum architecture. Grunsfeld, Jr. also designed the Jewish
People's Institute (a community center). As stated on the second link,
"the building has a distinctive Byzantine-influenced exterior visually
interpreting the Middle-Eastern origins of Judaism." The Institute,
like the Adler Plantarium, are Chicago landmarks. Interesting note:
John Grunsfeld, Ernest's grandson, is an active American astronaut and
is listed in our Astronaut and Aeronautics category.

Lawrence Halprin - Born 1916, New York. Halprin is one of the foremost
landscape architects and urban planners in American history. His most
recent famous work is the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial in
Washington. Other works include the world headquarters for Levi
Strauss Company in San Franscisco. It is considered a model of modern
corporate design in an urban setting. It consists of a number of small
buildings in an open park like setting that fits in with its
environment and does not overwhelm it. He also designed Sproul Plaza
for the University of California at Berkeley. His wife is Anna
Halprin, a famous choreographer and dancer. They met at a
Hillel-sponsored university dance. Really interesting profile (it's a
little long) on the following link.

Friedensreich Hundertwasser - Austrian painter and architect known for
his use of vivid primary colors and irregular shapes for buildings.
Dominated Vienna's postwar art scene until his death in February 2000.
Born Friedrich Stowasser. His mother was Jewish; his father was not.
If not for his "mixed" background he would not have survived the
Holocaust. Virtually everyone on his mother's side of the family did
not survive. The following site is a truely comprehensive site on his
paintings and works.

Frank Israel - Prominent Southern California architect who died in
1996, aged 50. He was well-known for his modern homes. Many were
designed for famous people. He taught at the UCLA School of
Architecture and was described as "a revered figure." His full story
is on the following linked obituary. Architecture is something of an
"old man's" game and Israel was in his prime. Like so many talented
people, he died of AIDS.

Arne Jacobsen - (1902-71) Arne Jacobsen is universally referred to as
"the father of Danish modernism" or "the Frank Lloyd Wright of
Denmark". Jacobsen was an architect who was trained in the classical
style, but turned to the new International style in the 1930s. He was
incredibly gifted as an architect, industrial designer, textile
designer, and furniture designer. He was also a gifted watercolor
artist. His leading buildings include the SAS building in Copenhagen
and the Bella Vista Housing complex north of Copenhagen. His clean,
organic furniture, cutlery, etc. was manufactured for specific
buildings in the 1950s. However, it quickly caught on with the public
and the vintage 1950s items are highly sought after collectibles.
Almost all his household products (furniture, etc.) are still being
manufactured for an eager market. Jacobsen, his wife, a friend, and
the friend's wife escaped the Nazis in 1943 by paddling a row boat to
Sweden. 2002 is the 100th anniversary of his birth and there is a
lovely tribute site on the following first link. The second link takes
to a page that features color photos of some of his best known
furniture and cutlery designs.

Marcel Janco - Romanian-born artist and architect (1895-1984). A
founding father of the Dada movement. Designed many highly-acclaimed
buildings in Bucharest. Emigrated to Israel, founded artists' village
of Ein Hod.

Louis Kahn - Best known for his design of the Salk Institute in La
Jolla, CA. He also developed the masterplan for the development of
Dacca, the capitol of Bangladesh.

Albert Kahn - (1869-1942) Kahn, the son of a German rabbi, was one of
the most important industrial architects of the early 20th century. He
designed many of the more important facilities for Ford and his
influence on other architects was profound. In addition, he designed
many office buildings and places of worship. Ironically, he designed
the club house for the main "no Jews allowed" Detroit country club and
the club house for one of the most famous "Jewish" country clubs in
the Detroit area. Both following links are excellent. The second is a
very good article with photos of the buildings.

Morris Lapidus - The architect of the "wild" Fountainbleu and Eden Roc
hotels in Miami Beach, Florida. When they opened, in the '50s, they
were loved by the American public and by foreign visitors--but hated
by the advocates of the new International style. Now, Lapidus, 94, has
many fans and is critically praised by many architecture critcs.

Fred Lebensold - Born in 1917 in Poland, he is one of the leading
theatrical architects in North America. Lebensold, a Canadian, is most
famous for his design of the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, Canada.

Rino Levy - Brazilian Jewish architect who has enormous influence on
the architecture of his homeland. Born in Brazil, he was trained in
Italy. He helped introduce modernist architecture to housing design
and designed a famous theater (UFA in Sao Paulo) that was immediately
admired and widely copied. Levy died in 1965.

Daniel Liebskind - Liebskind was born in Poland in 1947. He came to
America as a small child. Liebskind is ranked among the top architects
in the world today. He designed the new Jewish museum in Berlin and
designed a new Jewish Museum for San Francisco which will open in
2002. The Jewish Museum of Berlin opened in September, 2001. The
building, without contents, was open for months before the official
opening (with exhibits). The striking design of the building attracted
hundreds of thousands of visitors even without exhibits.

Samuel Marx - (1885-1964) Born in Natchez, Mississippi. Marx was a
Chicago-based architect. His early works are in a neo-classical
traditional style. Later he became much more modernist. He designed
the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Pierre Hotel in New York, and many
fine residences. Marx was almost as famous as a great collector of art
and decorative objects. His wife, who shared his passion, donated much
of their collections to various museums, including the Metropolitan in
New York. He was a great friend of actor Edward G. Robinson (sweet
Jew, b. Emannuel Goldenberg). They both shared a love for art.

Richard Meier - World famous contemporary architect. Richard Meier was
born in 1934 in Newark, New Jersey. Meier was awarded the Pritzker
prize in 1984. Chief architect of the "Getty Museum" and many other
notable buildings. An interesting note, his firm was selected to
design the "2000 Church" by Pope John Paul II. This is the millineum
church for the city of Rome. Surely, Jewish architects have designed
churches before. But a project of this importance has to be unique.

Erich Mendelsohn - (1887-1953) German-Jewish architect, prime exponent
of the Expressionist and Bauhaus styles. Forced to leave Germany in
1933, he fled to British Mandate of Palestine, where he designed
(among other things) hospital buildings and some buildings in the
Weizmann Institute, including Chaim Weizmann's house. Mendelsohn
emigrated to the United States in 1941. In America, he designed
hospitals, synagogues, and community centers. Interesting note:
Mendelsohn was one of many modernist architects who made 1930s Tel
Aviv one of the hotbeds of the new International Style. Really
interesting article on following link about this architecture. The
first page of the article has a hyperlink to a relatively complete
biography of this great architect. (If you are searching for Moses or
Felix Mendelssohn---note the correct spelling of the name).

Richard Neutra - (1892-1970) Born in Austria, he immigrated to America
in 1923 and became one of the most famous American architects. Noted
for his modernistic homes and other buildings--particularly in the
Southern California area. His son, Dion, is a famous architect in his
own right.

Moshe Safdie - (1938- ), Israeli architect, known for his innovative
prefabricated housing complexes. He was born in Haifa. He designed the
grounds for the 1967 international fair Expo '67 in Montréal, Québec,
Canada. His Habitat project built for Expo '67 was the first major
prefabricated housing project ever constructed. Safdie's other major
projects include the National Gallery of Canada (1988), in Ottawa, the
Musée de la Civilisation (1988), in Québec City, and the Skirball
center in Los Angeles. Recently, he has done a lot of work in
Jerusalem. His son, Oren Safdie, is a playwright/screewriter who is
increasingly being noticed. He writes funny, satirical plays featuring
Jewish characters and themes. In 1998, a play was made into the film,
"You Can Thank Me Later".

Harry Sternfeld - Sternfeld was Professor of Architecture at the
University of Pennsylvania, 1923-59. His most well known building is
the United States Courthouse and Post Office in Philadelphia. It is
considered a masterpiece of the Art Deco style.

Bruno Zevi - One of the most influential Italian architects of the
20th century. He came from an old Italian-Jewish family.Zevi headed
the National Italian Institute of Architecture in Rome, edited leading
architectural magazines and served as a professor at the universities
of Rome and Venice. He died, age 81, in 2000.

2 more questions. I only ask because your commitment to
letting everyone on usenet know how important Jews are
really does amaze me, and curioisity compells me to find out
why you do it. 1. where do you keep your Jew lists (I assume
it's on your computer, so if so how many megabytes is it?).
2. Do you write and research the list yourself, or did you
lift it from a book or some other source.

Ok, maybe that's more than 2 questions, but you get my
point.

questions, but you get my>point.>Joe Freezetag>

Grasshopper, your inquisitiveness is always welcomed!heheeh Provided that you
do not act like a raving MESHUGGENER!eheh Firstly, let me properly introduce
myself: I am the YID of TID, the OY in the HOOD, the grand REBBE with the
Jewish facts and figures!ehehee My mind is like a sponge when it comes to
Judaism. Constantly absorbing the TID of YID!eheh I also refer (if needed -
which is rarely!eh) to my vast JUDAI library. Remember, there are tens of
thousands of books that detail the accomplishments of Jews. Lastly, there's
always www.jewhoo.com (always make sure to enter www or you will receive the
outdated system), which is one of the most comprehensive Jewish databases of
its kind. In the end, why must you take your inanimate cyber world to
heart!?ehe
Why are you unwilling to learn from the beauty & wisdom of the Jewish people!?
Here's a little hint: In terms of religious influence, Judaism is the granddad
of 'em all. Abraham is the father of the world's 3 major religions: Judaism,
Christianity & Islam (ancestors of the Hebrew & Arabic peoples). Jesus
(formerly known as sweet Jewish Jesus!eh) is still worshipped by billions. Jews
are also the oldest of any people on earth, still around with their national
identity and cultural heritage intact. Judaism is so popular that Madonna (et
al) are now turning to the KABBALAH for spiritual knowledge. On CNN's LARRY
KING LIVE (sweet NYC Jew, b. Lawrence Harvey Zeiger), MADONNA had worn her STAR
OF DAVID and spoke indepth about her love of the Jewish culture. While she has
yet to convert, she still thinks of herself as a Jew. As for why I do it? To
imbue the naive masses with the beauty of my people, and to combat the
anti-Semitic ilk. Hint: Those who KVETCH about the praising of Jews are
tyypically
inferiority-driven anti-Semites. Whether latent or full-blown, you can always
be certain of one thing: Praise the Jews, and the jealous Gentiles come a
running!ehh And as long as we have you and JOEY TWIN #1 around, my work shall
never be done!ehhe -D, NYC "Be wise, circumcise!"

>See how he avoids my list about the same way everyone avoids his?>

But Joey Twin #1, listing Gentiles who comprise 99% of the non Jewish world is
no great MITZVAH!eheheh It doesn't take an EINSTEIN to excel in this world when
you comprise the majority of its population. Jews have endured thousands of
years of persecution, comprise a measly 1/4 of 1% of the world's population,
yet they continue to disproportionately excel in every field of human endeavor.
If you look at the top echelons of life, you will find Jews there in spades.
The same Jews who have exerted an influence on world civilization more profound
and lasting than any other ancient culture. Do you think it's just a
coincidence that EINSTEIN happens to be the greatest mind of the 20th century!?
Do you think it's just a coincidence that Jews still win more Nobel prizes than
any other religion? Do you think it's just a coincidence that Jews are God's
Chosen people? Do you think it's just a coincidence that Jews still score
higher on College Board exams than the national average!? Do you think it's
just a coincidence that Jews comprise over 23% of Ivy League schools, yet
comprise a measly 2% of the American population? Do you think it's just a
coincidence that Jews comprise 60% of Hollywood's elite? More coincidences: 16%
of Time's Most Important 25 list!? 76% of Most influential intellectuals? 15%
of MacArthur "Genius" Awards 1981-97? 60% of Yale Grad students? 15% of Time's
20 20th Century Inventors? There should be no doubt that Jews are the poster
children for the smartest and most successful peoples on the planet. BTW, who
is everyone!? The same 10 or so users who share your latent anti-Semitism,
sociopathic behavior, and politically correct ideology!? -D, NYC "-D, NYC "This

OY VAY! All that Tennessean smegma must have made a U-turn and seeped

#1 seals his clueless coffin by not only saying "NYC is not the center
of the universe," but also adds "especially." eeehehehe Then he claims
that my comments can be attributed to any major city. Here's a little
hint: Only one city in the world can lay claim to The Statue of
Liberty, Ellis Island (welcomed tens of millions of immigrants to its
shores), The United Nations, Broadway, Times Square, Wall Street, Park
Avenue, etc., etc. Only one state can lay claim to "The Gateway to
Freedom State." Only one city can lay claim to "the largest city in
the US, and one of the largest in the world. Only one city can lay
claim to "The city that never sleeps." Only one city can lay claim to
"New York Minute." As defined in the dictionary: "a very short time."
Only one city has the hustle & bustle that can make or break you.
These are everlasting symbols of freedom & prosperity that are known
the world over. Joey, it's as simple as this: You have two major hubs
in America - on the west coast, it's L.A. On the east coast, it's NYC.
Unlike L.A., which primarily excels in movie-making, NYC excels in
every facet of life. NYC is consistent excellence across the board:
culture, cuisine, arts, media, fashion, finance, retail, diamond
district, theatre, print, modeling, trade, second home to Hollywood,
socialites, bohemians, etc. Here's another hint: Unless you want to
further embarrass yourself, why not visit MANHATTAN!? Joey, you're in
a no-win situation!eh By continuing to deny the obvious, you place
yourself in a worse light. Boy, you must really be out in the
boondocks of TN, eh!?eheh I have yet to hear of any knowing individual
that questioned NYC's HUB OF THE WORLD status! It simply does not

I'm not jealous at all. My wife (who happens, but the way, to be a sweet

the hub of anything more than tourism and east coast citrus, it suits our
needs just fine. I've visited New York once about 8 years ago and thought

SHTUPPING in NYC registers on the Richter scale!eheheh Oyml, glad to hear about
your wife! May I ask if you have any children!? If so, are they being raised
Jewish!? Remember, under Talmud law, Judaism is solely determined by the
matriarchal lineage. Regardless of your religion, your children shall always be
considered full-blooded Jews. -D, NYC

We don't currently have children. We've been married for about 8 months now
and are putting off children for awhile. However, and this is probably not
going to make you happy, if/when we do, they probably won't be raised under
any religious banner. I'm not going to discourage them if they want to
learn about their heritage, of course, but since my wife and I aren't very
religious people, there probably won't be a lot of religion going on in the
household.

related to Deutsch)
