Stories centering around robbing armored cars delivering old bills to get incinerated

I know that a Denny O'Neil story of the Shadow did this plot, as did
the film Dead Presidents, but I think in one of his stories Chuck
Dixon did it, and he pointed out that (at least today), they perforate
bills due for destruction to mark them as such.

Any other stories use this idea?

the best variant i ever came across was in Lee Child's first novel.
The gimmick was

SPOILER ALERT

Crooks had an investment back buying up vast quantities of dollar
bills -- for the paper. The gimmick was that they would bleach them,
ship them to South America, and reprint them as $100s

I remember a novel by James Hadley Chase (another English writer who many
people thought was American) about an armored car robbery. Can't think of
the title though.
