The Shadow novels
|
| |
I've recently acquired a large number of The Shadow old time radio shows and have started listening to them, and it has renewed my interest in reading the original novels. My question is, how good are the reprints? I've seen in Mr. Olsen's reviews (or perhaps elsewhere) that some of the novels were heavily edited, is this the case? I know... more »

New and Improved Pulpcon
|
| |
Following the 2008 Pulpcon, I came home with a feeling of hope that things were finally going to change and Pulpcon would start reversing its recent losses. If you'd click on the link below, you might want to check out - - The very first Destroyer cover from 1971, as Joe mentioned in his post. No sign of Chiun, and a very different story than the flippant... more »

Destroyer
|
| |
Just came across Dr. Hermes's scan of "Created: the Destroyer" -- nice to see it again. Reading a couple of the reviews of early Destroyer books, I'll mention my theory about the series: somewhere along the way during the first ten or so books, one of the partners (Murphy and Sapir) looked at the other one and said, "you know, this... more »
