I have a problem doing something-- for the sake of discussion, let's
say that I have a problem speaking in public but I don't have a
problem *singing* in public. I have to wonder why I can do one thing
and not the other. I tried going to a hypnotherapist to work on this
matter and I got better for a short time, then things went back to the
previous status quo.

I used to be able to do both things with no problems, but something
changed; something seems to have gotten corrupted along the way. Does
anyone know how I can find out why I can't access, or completely use,
a particular talent of mine when it used to work for me both ways
before? Is this some kind of psychological block perhaps?

Why would we think an allergic reaction has only physical and not
psychological effects when we see so many compounds that are used and
prescribed that do have psychological effects?

Try a more organic diet and get some exercise to ramp up the blood flow
and wash toxins out of the brain.

I dunno of any test that looks for psychological reactions; which is
remarkable since so many drugs, taken for some physical problem, have
turned out to be effective therapy.

I also saw an autism researcher report how the onset of problems was
tracked to exposure to a virus that other kids in school had, but got
over with no problems.

Note also, how they usta send people away from the city to spend time at
some rural location... away from exposure to the pathogens in town. Both
Oriental and Occidental ancient sages agreed cities were unhealthy, and
that the best life had to offer was tending a country garden. Course, in
many cases, this also meant getting away from the group think of a lotta
crazy people.

Villages had witches, shamen, and sages who provided what we now call
'case management'; but unlike therapists now, they lived with the cases
and saw what they did rather than only listened to reports by the client
on how things were going. And rather than experimenting with the latest
new drug, whose long term effects are unknown, they relied on
traditional herbs that had been in use for generations.

Moreover, rather than relying on daily meds, there were rituals in which
clients were given powerful entheogenic potions, that besides providing
spiritual insights, resulted in psychological enlightenment. These were
experimented with back in the 1960's, but because they so often
destroyed faith in Christianity, the political system, dominated by
Christians, banned them.

It might be a neurological block. I read a scifi story about a guy
who stuttered, and was taught to sing his words instead, because
singing utilized a different part of the brain than speech. Instead
of actually singing, you might just try to IMAGINE that you're singing
as you recite your words, or even just imagining a rhythm might work.
Notice how nobody can remember poems, but everybody can memorize song
lyrics.

Don't waste your money on hypno- or other 'therapists,' because they
are charlatans who will just string you along until your bank account
is drained.
