McChrystal should NEVER have been placed
in charge of the Afghanistan mission: His plan
is for the U.S. Military (and N.A.T.O. forces)
to become the police force of that country!!!!!!

Instead of killing the al-Qaidas & Talibans
he proposes to protect the civilian population
(you know, crossing guards, traffic cops, fire
departments, ambulances, et al). If this isn't
about the nuttiest proposal it would be hard
to come up with a nuttier: None of those things
work HERE in the U.S.A. for Heaven's sakes!
They're going to work in Afghanistan?! Let
McChrystal try it out first in Philly for a few
decades.

The aim of every war is to give it all ya got
and try to win it--Once your purpose becomes
to wear everybody down with endless shoot'em
up's for years on end... that, by definition, is
your non-winnable war: Git out!

We are in the second or third stages of re-creating
The Vietnam Experience.

We're long past the stage where "This is a war
we have designed to try to not lose it." --We all
know this war can NOT be won without fighting it in
Pakistan (where our enemy is). But now McChrystal
wants to continue the body count & the bankrupting
of America with goofball plans that would be
comical ... were they not so pathetic and tragic.

Except that the American casualty rate is so much lower than Vietnam,
and nobody's been drafted, so pressure for withdrawing is
insufficient.
