WWF Super Astros Report - June 27, 1999
Hosted by Marcello Rodriguez, Hugo Savinovich, and Carlos Cabrera
Taped from Worcester, Massachusetts

• The match between El Merenguero and Miguel Perez from the 6/20 show was
highlighted, which resulted in both wrestlers shoving the referee, and Savio
Vega trying to make peace between the two. This week, Merenguero and Perez
would once again go one-on-one, but with Vega as the Guest Referee. Also on
the show, Taka Michinoku and Sho Funaki of Kaientai would take on Papi Chulo
and Super Loco.
• Backstage, Maria Felipe interviewed Papi Chulo and Super Loco about their
upcoming match against Kaentai. Chulo said he and Loco were pefect, while
Loco said both would come out the winners.
• Taka Michinoku and Sho Funaki defeated Papi Chulo and Super Loco via
Pinfall.
- Papi Chulo and Super Loco worked slowly on Sho Funaki. At one piont,
Funaki received a triple jump moonsault from Loco and a 450 splash from
Chulo, but he managed to kick out of the pin. After Chulo crashed into the
top turnbuckle, Taka Michinoku was tagged in. After taking down both
opponents with tornado DDTs, he set up Chulo for the Michinoku Driver, but
Chulo countered with a German Suplex. It appeared Chulo made the pin, but
both of his shoulders were down, while Michinoku raised his right shoulder
at the last second.

• Backstage, Maria Felipe interviewed a maskless Mini Nova, who lost his
mask in a match the previous week against Mini Max. Nova said he was very
sad to lose his mask. Max then came in and offered his friendship to Nova,
but Nova wouldn't accept.

• Marcello Rodriguez plugged the King of the Ring PPV.

• Marcello Rodriguez asked Savio Vega about being the Guest Referee in the
El Merenguero vs. Miguel Perez match later in the show. Vega said he just
wanted to give it over with. He said he would control the match and call the
winner.

• El Merenguero defeated Miguel Perez via Pinfall.
- In the beginning of the match, El Merenguero attempted to make the pinfall
using the ropes as leverage, but Savio Vega wouldn't allow it. Miguel Perez
later went for a chair, but Vega again didn't allow it. Perez was lowblowed
by Merenguero when Vega turned around to put the chair on the outside of the
ring. As the match continued, Merenguero tried to hit Perez with his musical
intrustrument. When Vega took it away, he swung around and accidently hit
Perez with it. Vega was forced to make the pin to give Merenguero the win.
