Austin Idol- He had a huge influence on me as a fan. He was similar
to Flair, had some great feuds with Flair, Savage, Lawler, Tommy Rich
and The Freebirds.
Arn Anderson- Horseman Enforcer...enough said.
Curt Hennig- he was simply perfect.
Ric Flair- Wooooooo, the greatest of all time.
The Midnight Express and The Freebirds- Arguably the greatest tag
teams of the 80's, if not ever.

THANK YOU for naming some of the greats that made me lose my voice
everytime after watching them in the ring from screaming and the
excitement. I started showing my son all of the NWA years from 1985
thru 1986 and he admits he saw more action from that era than he sees
now. It made you believe. It made you excited. Its like EVERY match
at an arena was a TOP MATCH. The midcard matches had so much action.
Being from NY, I only got to read the magazines about that great
territory UNTIL Channel 47, the SPANISH channel would broadcast
Championship Wrestling from Florida every Tuesday night at 11 pm, and
THAT opened my world to the NWA, and then TBS Saturday night, oh the
glory dayssssssssssss

Wow, a lot of names that bring back fond memories already mentioned
here! I would like to add a few:

- Tito Santana: Good athleticism, good moves, and loved the whole
fiery Latino routine. Led to a lot of exciting finishes, whether he
won and outsmarted the heel, or got cheated out of a win.
- Macho Man: Loved his whole gimmick w/Elizabeth, great mic skills.
But also, cat-like quick moves in the ring, and could play it lots of
ways in the ring. Whether it was a quick, cheating win or run away
from the ring for a count out, to 1 hour matches where you thought how
could this guy have anything left (a few matches with Ricky "The
Dragon" Steamboat come to mind)
- Jake "The Snake" Roberts: Just plain evil, and I believe he wasn't
really too much out of his real-life character. Loved him as a heel.
The DDT was a great, believable finisher, and there was always Damian
or a number of his snakes waiting for the finale.
- Hart Foundation and British Bulldogs: These guys had awesome
matches and really made tag team matches the real main event, even on
Saturday Night's Main Event, Hogan's publicity/hype machine.

There's so many more to name, but I also want to say, as broadcasters,
Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura together were my all-time favorite
broadcast team. --Isaias

of heat, or super long matches. Plus, who didn't like seeing
Elizabeth at ringside?
- Jake "The Snake" Roberts: Just seemed like he wasn't to far from
his true character, scary and evil when cutting promos. One of the
best finishers I've ever seen (DDT), and there was always Damian or a
few of his other snakes waiting in the corner of the ring.
- Hart Foundation & British Bulldogs: These guys took tag team
wrestling to a whole new level. Their matches on Saturday Night's
Main Event were the main event for me, I enjoyed watching them better
than the Hulkster.

There's so many others that come to mind and have already been
mentioned. I would like to add I would bring back Gorilla Monsoon
(RIP) and Jesse Ventura as my announce team.
