Has the advice *changed* in the interim?
If so, *how* and *why*?
Dave
answers.MS is a MS sanctioned webforum populated by MS MVPs.
The forum - a forum post - distinguishes between those help sites which
are ASAP http://asap.maddoktor2.com/ approved and those help sites which
are not ASAP approved.
In this 2009 May thread (now 27 months old) Vincenzo Di Russo provided
the initial guidance as well as additional advice about posting HJT logs
to several forums he mentioned; but then Corinne came along and gave
alternate advice^1 and was the one promoting ASAP sites over non-ASAP.
Corinne: ASAP Member Forums Providing Log Analysis
Personally, I've never heard of some of the ASAP sites listed, which far
outnumbered the non-ASAP sites she posted. Examples of non-ASAP,
bleepingcomputer, spywarewarrrior, aumha.
So, my question is; what is up with this ASAP business in the view of
the denizens of a.p.s?
<from ASAP website>
ASAP's goals are:
* To ensure a high standard and quality of security support no
matter where you seek help.
* To recommend in an equal and fair manner products available to
keep your computer clean and safe, regardless of pricing.
* To ensure that end users are not affected by so called "product
wars" and unfair marketing tactics, which have plagued several
industries in recent years.

Copied and pasted straight off the web page!
What I'd *now* like to know is just who has been able to manipulate that

Intrigue!
Can anyone help?

BD is certainly a source of great amusement.
He seems to be claiming that "Vinny" wrote that MBAM
was written by an MS MVP. Such a shame that he can't
cite a webpage to back that assertion up.

I did it very quickly by graphics editing - later realizing I could have
cloned the black "B" from the bottom instead of the blue one.
I could also have edited the html locally and done a screen capture.

I don't have web presence, so someone else will have to do that for you.
Depending upon *your* situation, they may be able to make it look like it
comes from answers.microsoft.com.
...an expert won't be fooled though.

I know you always have trouble posting links to images you've uploaded so
that the full image, and only the full image is linked. On the page you
linked, on the left, is a list of four possible URLs which you may post
in various media. If you click the one labelled 'Direct Link For Layouts'
to highlight it, then copy it into your post, this is the link your
readers will get:

Yeah, but it only took seconds. I found a better clone for the
"B" after the fact. As I wrote in another post, it would have
been "perfect" had I edited the html locally instead of doing
the manipulations on BD's own screen cap.

According to that profile page, he is the moderator. So he is both the
moderator *and* the originator of the post. The administrator likely
gives him some control for those two reasons.
That doesn't mean that he and only he can affect changes. The
administrator likely has full control, while the moderator has some
control, and the originator has control over only his or her own content.
The administrator can probably look in the logs to see what security
principal (login) was used to make that change. Otherwise, one can only
guess.

Honestly, I think if he loads firebug (which is damn fucking cool!)
he'll have a lot more questions which he won't understand the answers
too. I'm not trying to insult anybody, just sayin...

Hey, on a good note; you did get the page information corrected in a
round about way. [g]

It is. I discovered it about 6 months ago, it provides amazing insight
on page objects.
Have you used it to look at www.Annexcafe.com ?

I got rid of mine. The needle rarely got much above zero.
Nothing wrong with making a statement of fact.
Carry on.
Why should he do that, cunt?
Lol... What do you think?
I told you, I'm not getting involved in the Annex/Aumha thing!
That is why your email went unanswered BTW. I asked you before not to
bother me with anything regarding that.
I think not - just in case you discover something untoward!
Now that *would* be embarrassing! ;-)

I didn't mean to be a 'bother'.
I'm glad your dad is better anyway.
It would have been nice if you'd replied and said something like (as I
requested) 'got your message, but will not be responding in detail'.
Just good manners, Graham.

It would be good manners on your part to stop bugging people with your
fucking paranoia, cunt, as well as refraining from slimy innuendo,
implication and insinuation.
If you don't like it here on *my* group, you are free to leave at at any
time.

I told you before BD that there is a group set up just for you and your types. It is
alt.dumbfucks.troll-inc and you can access it on the
nntp.aioe.org server. Now you can freely call that your own group. Otherwise GAFO
BTW: Your grasp of the English language needs to be upgraded (at at )
Jack
It's *nobody's* group, cunt. Anyone may post anything any time they want
to. As long as it concerns the privacy implications of spyware.
Now fuck off, cunt.
You are a bit of a fly boy, aren't you?!!!

You are not posting in that scorched group, asswipe.

Magical ... indeed! :o)

Fucking shit. You want to suggest good manners? YOU? Dude, if there
wasn't a better case of irony.
Heh, David, if I decide I don't fucking want to deal with you anymore,
I'm free to make you leave anytime I fucking like. Think your hidden on
the boat? Think again, fuckhead.
Btw, I did spend exactly 5 days in your country; seriously debating on
visiting you in person and giving you those lumps I promised. When you
suggested I call you, You damn near got your nose broke. I was
literally 5 minutes walking distance from your house.
You really should stop smoking it!

I always endeavour to be a gentleman! :-)
Why are you taking such a threatening stance, Dustin?
I've told you before, it's not *me* who is trying to hide.

I find that extremely difficult to believe, but I expect you have proof.
What aspect of your visit to England did you most enjoy?
Where - exactly - would "the local stored html file" have been kept,
Dustin? Do you know the physical location? On Peter Foldes' server, perhaps?

It doesn't bother me in any way - I simply found it odd that *someone*
chose to wait until I had raised matters - over two years - before the
error was corrected. <shrug>
2. Not seeing you. Maybe he did get 40 quid
worth from your daughter. She still works Friday.
