welp, i can't. because it is. (kinda...)
actually what this is, 'this' being:
http://ps.premeditatedfun.com/aps-radio/aps_radio.ram
is an old OLD internet radio show i produced and offered on one of my
old OLD websites. this dates to mid/late 2000, contains 100%
'progressive-ish-ly eeclectic music without being neither too punk or
too funk' music, is ~90 minutes long and can easily be streamed with
even the lowliest of dial-up connections.
i was diggin' through an old archive ceedee and i came across all my
old radio shows. yow. what a trip...
anyhoo, i am proud to loan these to aps as an internet radio extension
of a great group of what i think are great peoples. i'm even
re-branding it as "aps internet radio". and no, i'm not even bill
gates yet!!
if ya don't 'grog' real player itself, do what i do and use 'real
alternative' and 'media player classic' instead. they're both
freewares and do a fine job of handling real media files without the
bloat of the real networks offerings.
real alternative (complete with media player classic):
http://c9.edskes.com/realalt121.exe
real alternative mirrors:
http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/mirror.htm
(quicktime alternative is availble here too.)
this alt.pouting.sandwich streaming internet radio gizmo will only be
available for a few weeks. after that i'll be migrating ALL my
websites. yikes... *shiver*

It's playing in the background now, but sounds suspiciously like disco.
If that keeps up, I fear it won't last long.
Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm an old dinosaur. But in what passes for my mind,
we're still living in the glory days of Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Led
Zeplin, AC/DC and The Boss.

Ok. Cancel that. I let it run further and you've got some kick ass music
on there. Nice job, Biff.
sorry, but i don't stick to one genre. i have always listened to (and
played) more than one type of music. if you don't like what song
you're hearing, just use the scrollbar to 'fast-forward' a bit. the
stream will pick up again where ever you drop the slider.
and you'll NEVER hear 'the boss' on any of my streams. in my book he's
almost as annoying as howard stern.

heh. yep. thats OLD alright!
Ah, and you were doing so well up to that point. Now, sadly, you shall
burn in hell.
:-(
I seem to be sensing some hostility towards the Tri-State area here.
Hope he likes company. I'm with him on that, actually on both Stern and
the Boss. The rest of your choices OTOH, at least have a few songs I
like, Pink Floyd having far more than just a few.

It sounds really good...but is that jamariqui in the beginning?
Whose version of Watchtower is that? Very cool.
Dig Mazzy Star...I had forgotten about her. Think I'll have to dust off my
CD :)
Can you print the playlist? Right now I'm digging that bass heavy
instrumental that starts around the 41 minute mark.
sure! what you're hearing at 41 mins is 'busy child' by the crystal
method.
here is a complete playlist:
jamiroquai - alright
lindsey buckingham - go insane
pj harvey - a perfect day elise
the beatles - i am the walrus
the boodhound gang - fire water burn
(i can't recall the artist) - i like it like that
spearhead - people in the middle (acid jazz remix)
jethro tull - mother goose
the pixies - i bleed
dave mason - all along the watchtower
the breakfast club - right on track
the crystal method - busy child
the bob mintzer big band - oye como va
its a beautiful day - white bird
michael mcdonald - i keep forgettin'
bjork - so broken
debarge - i like it
weezer - el scorcho
general public - tenderness
robert plant - ship of fools
santana - i hope you're feeling better
the cure - lovecats
i've always tried to make these 'shows' a real grab bag.
yes! i just typed out a playlist for you elsewhere in this thread.
when i change the show that is streaming i will be sure to provide a
playlist from now on. i kinda forgot that people might not know what
the heck i'm playing.
>Whose version of Watchtower is that? Very cool.

dave mason. watchtower is one of my all time favorite pieces and i
have many many versions of it...

whoops! sorry it cut off like that at the end! i guess 90 minutes was
my mixing threshold at the time...
tell ya what... i'm considering producing a new show just for aps use.
its been a LONG time since i've done one up. i quit when the riaa and
sesac jumped on me about playing their precious musics in a non-profit
environment without paying them anything.
but when i do produce this new one i'll be sure mazzy is in there
COMPLETE. :)~
it will be a MUCH better sounding mp3 stream. thats what i went to
after my real audio days...

i already am. (burning in hell...)
allow me to make a slight correction though.
there *is one bruce song i'd play. "cadillac ranch". that is killer...
i went to my archives search engine thingie to see if i had that mp3
for the 'new' aps show i am planning, but out of almost 20,000 mp3s in
my collection i have absolutely no springsteen at all.
bon jovi's "waiting on a prayer" by austrailian lounge act "pastel
vespa", yes. but no boss at all... i coulda sworn i had cadillac
ranch. :/~
i'll hit up kazaa lite to see if i can find it.
none was intended. i'd love to come visit the nyc area some day...
i'd like to see everything from times square to ocean city new jersey,
to long island. the furthest east i have ever been was pittsbugh and i
was only two so i don't even remember it...
furthermore, i'm a david letterman fan. i know he's originally from
indiana, but his show screams "new york".
we're all burning in hell right now, but some of us haven't realized
it yet.
My partner, about two hours ago, told me she routed her brother by the
Cadillac Ranch on his way to OK.

man, this kinda stuff has been happening to me alot lately. is that
what's its considered?? 'convergence'?...
google to the rescue:
http://www.google.com/search?q=define:Convergence
while all of those definitions are just 'jim dandy', i think this one
applies to what you were saying:
'the occurrence of two or more things coming together'
aye?...
anyhoo, i wanna go see the cadillac ranch!!:

road trip anyone? ;-)~

While it's not comletely Awful, Caddilac Ranch was probably Bruce at one
of his lowest points, just trying to hit commercial success and stay in
the public eye.
Some of his stuff that you hardly ever hear on the radio would be far
better. "The River" for one. Or, though it gets more airplay, pretty
much the entire Born to Run album.
welp, all i can tell ya its the only piece of his work that i
appreciate. the rest has me rotting in hell...

have a cd burner? copy it and send it to me. i'd be happy to give it a
shot. how about a compilation of what you believe to be bruce's best?

i think you mean "joad". that was the family from the grapes of wrath.
tom was the primary character.
i'll try to find this on kazaa lite. i'm intrigued...
Well, I seem to be enjoying it at least.
