What's wrong with Finnegan's Wake? Perhaps too complicated. (10).

A quick google (I must be ignorant) tells me that the book title doesn't
have an apostrophe (which makes sense for your posting here), but the ballad
title does - so presumably the clue refers to the book?

Aha... the answer is "apostrophe", that being an anagram of "perhapstoo" -
thanks to http://wordsmith.org/anagram/ for its help when I speculatively
plugged in that possible anagram fodder.

I did it the other way around; as a crossword solver of many decades'
standing, I homed straight in on "perhaps too" as clearly being an
anagram, identified "apostrophe", and only then remembered that the book
title lacks precisely that.
