That expression - "could/couldn't care less" - varies, in general terms,
across the pond: in general, Limeys say couldn't, Yanks say could,
though I believe a few say couldn't.
To me, assuming the meaning intended is that the person really isn't
bothered by whatever, the British version makes more sense - "Robin
couldn't care less" means "it would be impossible for Robin to care any
less than he does now", i. e. he's not bothered; however, being a Brit I
would think that, wouldn't I.
