offs or off's

According to M$ spell checkers, offs is valid but off's is wrong.
According to Firefox's and Chrome's spell checkers, off's is fine but
offs is not.

I'm with M$ on this one.

I guess it depends what the off's purpose in the sentence is. Of course,
there could be several offs in different contexts!

The checkers are, of course, both wrong -- both spellings can be
correct.

I have a box hers, it's full of old electrical switches: lots of ons
but a few offs as well. Each switch is distinguished by its colour:
on's green but off's red.

(or is it the other way around ... the colours, I mean?)

Anyhow, I thing offs's fine, and off's is as well ...
