Not bad. I quibble with some of it, and some of it is phrased in ways
that reflect overgeneralizations, but it's overall one of the better
pieces I've seen.

Just now saw this. Read the responses by the dr., and for the 1st time am really fried: If we're "hardwired to prefer monogamy", why is the divorce rate so high? Why does a poly family with multiple adult partners who are lovingly committed get counted as "more unstable and ambiguous relationships" than a serially married or single parent with a string of relationships? Why is the breakup rate in polyamorous relationships "proof" that poly doesn't work, but the divorce rate is NOT proof that monogamy doesn't work?
Wow, not sure where all that came from, but grrr.....

The "doctor" probably also doesn't realize that some parents have
more than one child, and it works out OK. Looks like the author
felt that he needed to include an "opposing point of view," so
solicited one and quoted the cliches. Think of it as obligatory.
