BREAKING NEWS UPDATE - TUCSON - Tucson police have confirmed one
person is dead, two people have been released from the hospital and
two others remain in the hospital after a shooting in midtown,
Tuesday.
The Police Department is investigating the shooting at an auto
body shop, M&M Customs, 3040 North Stone Avenue, near the
intersection of Stone Avenue and Ft. Lowell Road.
Police say four men, all suspected gang members, entered into the
business around 7 p.m, Tuesday. The owner and one employee were
inside. Police say the suspects tried to usher the employee into a
back room. Meantime, the owner saw what was going on, grabbed his
gun and fired. Police say the suspected gang members shot back. At
one point, the employee ended up getting a hold of his gun and
started shooting too, according to Tucson Police.
Police say they arrived within two minutes and found one of the
suspects dead in the street. They say the owner and one of the
suspects have been released from the hospital. The two other
suspects remain in the hospital.

TUCSON - Police say an attempted robbery of a Tucson business left
one suspect dead and three other people, including the business
owner, hospitalized with gunshot trauma.
Police responded to M&M Customs, 3040 N. Stone Ave., around 7:10
p.m. Tuesday in regards to a shooting.
On arrival, officers say they located three males, suffering from
gunshot trauma. A fourth male identified as 18-year-old, Noah
Lopez, was located on Delano St., just east of Stone Ave. Lopez was
pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining males were transported
to a local area hospital.
According to detectives, Lopez, along with 26-year-old, Toney
Stith, 19-year-old, Anthony Peyron, and 20-year-old, Carlos Peyron,
attempted to rob the business at gunpoint. Officers say the men
confronted an employee and were forcing him into a back office,
when the business owner engaged them with a shotgun, wounding
Anthony Peyron. Detectives say the four suspects had gang
affiliations.
Police say the suspects attempted to flee but encountered a locked
door. That's when, officers say, Lopez opened fire on the business
owner, striking him in the forearm.
Police tell News 4, the employee retrieved a handgun and shot
Lopez, who ran away, mortally wounded.
Officers say Stith was wounded in the lower extremities and Carlos
Peyron was struck in the back of the head with the stock of the
shotgun. The victims held the remaining three suspects at gunpoint
until officers arrived, two minutes later.
According to detectives, Carlos Peyron has been booked into the
Pima County Adult Detention Center, on one count each of 1st Degree
Murder, Attempted Aggravated Robbery, Attempted Armed Robbery, and
Kidnapping.
Stith and Anthony Peyron remain hospitalized and police say will
face the same charges upon their release.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office arrested 26 people suspected
of being in the country illegally, all within an eight-hour period
on Tuesday.
The arrests began with traffic stops in the north Valley at 11:30
a.m., Lieutenant Brian Lee said Wednesday. The last traffic stop
was about 7 p.m. the same night.
The initial traffic stops led deputies to a drophouse in west
Phoenix, Lee said. The house was located in the same area targeted
by Sheriff Joe Arpaio in his crime suppression sweep two weeks ago.
Deputies also believe a stolen vehicle found at the residence was
used to smuggle illegal immigrants.
Arpaio said any illegal immigrants brought into Arizona by human
smugglers will continue to be arrested as co-conspirators.
