Giuliani Ties Hillary, Leads Obama in Ohio

(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Two prospective United States presidential
candidates are even in the Buckeye State, according to a poll by the
Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. 43 per cent of respondents in Ohio
would vote for Republican former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani in 2008,
while 43 per cent would support Democratic New York senator Hillary Rodham
Clinton.

Giuliani holds a three-point lead over Illinois senator Barack Obama. In
other match-ups, actor and former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson trails
Rodham Clinton by 11 points, and Obama by 12 points.

In 2004, Republican George W. Bush carried Ohio's 20 electoral votes, with
51 per cent of the vote. The Buckeye State has supported the eventual
president in every U.S. election since 1964.

Bush is ineligible for a third term in office. The next United States
presidential election is scheduled for November 2008
