news:200003051744.MAA13169@cotse.com < Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Kim
Yong Nam, member of the political bureau of the Central Committee of the
Worker's Party of Korea and President of the presidium of the DPRK Supreme
People's Assembly, met and had a talk with a delegation of the New Communist
Party of Great Britain headed by its general secretary Andy Brooks at the
Mansudae Assembly Hall today. >
Nice to see my old mate Andy getting into the news. The last time I saw
Andy -- who, newsgroup readers may like to know, even looks like his hero
Stalin -- was in a pub at Clapham Junction where he was eagerly trying to
flog everyone copies of Korea Today, or some such thing. Apparently, it was
part of the deal with North Korea. The North Koreans gave the NCP a few
quid, and the NCP had to try to sell North Korean English-language
propaganda sheets to the proletariat in Britain. Needless to say, Andy's
efforts were largely in vain, the papers were awful -- triumphal pieces on
the opening of a fertiliser plant somewhere or another in North Korea, how
goldfish couldn't survive in Seoul's putrid water, but could in Pyongyang's
pure supply (I am not kidding), and so on.
