I will. I even ask sometimes why other persons in your roll over crash
got killed and you survived. IMHO, without even knowing your deceased
co-workers, I think they were better than you. It's too bad it wasn't
you killed in that roll over crash. I'd have built a website dedicated
to you. Much like others have. Do your kids know what you do? Do they
have any concept of the potential risk of physical harm you present to them?
IE: some crazy loon on the internet coming to your house with a shotgun
or something.
Your not anonymous Chris, lots of people have your pics, pics of your
family, your home and the street address your little subdivision home is
located at. When I was a teenager and into CB radios, if someone decided
to do the things you do, we actually went to the individuals home; Drug
him out in his back or front yard, proceeding to beat the immortal
dogshit out of him (and his age didn't matter), and down his radio gear.
Usually taking the radio with us and taking out his antenna and whatever
beam he had it up in the air with.
That got results. When you keyed the mic, you showed respect. When you
keyed the mic to talk shit and enough persons had enough, you got a
visit.
I really believe that we all would get the same expected results if this
were to happen to you, really I believe that. I think people should be
held accountable for their actions. Your time will come Chris. You'll
piss off the wrong person eventually and maybe, just maybe, they'll pull
a gun and blow your stupid fucking ass away.

Hi Mike. The post is mine, I do not know why it's been reposted here except
to cause.. misinformation I suppose. By that I mean the idea that it's (a)
an easter post or (b) from a "Malwarebytes Researcher" as opposed to me,

I respectfully disagree. My posts to usenet are mine and mine alone. They
have nothing whatsoever to do with any current/previous/future
employers/employees service providers or anything else. For BD or anyone
else to even think otherwise is just nuts. More so than my posts as of late
. :)
BD seems to have a personal axe to grind with me... He just doesn't
understand that I don't much care about or for some little unknown pissant
trying to digup dirt on me or anyone else. I don't appreciate name dropping
or the comments and I've let him know that. In return, he posts nonsense
like this thread. :(

The post is infact mine; and I am not Leythos. I appreciate your

I'm shocked. Really. The way you treat people you don't know, suggested

Yep... That would surely be his idea of a friend. :)

Dustin - you made that plain a long time ago! :)
Remember me contacting you by email after I had discovered one of the
nastiest pieces of work on the Internet, a Vx'er known as RAID? (yes,
you!) Indeed, you congratulated me for the thoroughness of my research
in finding you!
I wanted you to investigate activities at Annexcafe User2User where I
was convinced that bad guys were (are?) operating - I vaguely recall
even offering to pay you a fee to do so, but you refused. Whether or not
Annex.com itself was involved was unknown, but the owner, Gregory
Gooden, was not sympatetic to my concerns (we had discussed matters at
length by email) and has refused to allow me to post on his newsgroups.
You never explained exactly why you were afraid to accept this task.
What *was* your reason?

thoroughness in research? Your too easy, Dave. This one won't be nearly

Well, one of the things I realized when I retired, BD, is that I was
doing alot of things that were wrong. No excuse for it, period. What you
asked me to do fell in the same category in so far as I was concerned.
I'm also old school BD, back when if you wanted to do something, you did
your own homework first before you asked others to do it for you. I still
hold by those rules.
If you had done the research on me you claimed, you would have known I
wouldn't have accepted money from you even if I did agree to do your
deed; I never did any of it for money! You probably just stopped at the
first link, huh? :)

You have an odd way of defining right vs wrong. You and I were having what
I thought was a very decent discussion, then all of a sudden you announce
that you were only in the discussion to *expose how bad a person I am* and
how *disappointed* you are in finding out who I am. Why would you think
that you had to do that sort of thing in order to get to know me? That was
very wrong to do, and it was also wrong of you to just suddenly begin to
treat me badly when I've been nice to you and patient with you making every
attempt to understand you personally. I've treated you with respect from
the first time I've met you, and intend on continuing to do so, but you want
to make it difficult for me to respond to you with respect. Why??

Give me a break... Dustin ... you come from the script kiddie era and that
group of people never practiced anything that would be considered *old
school*. If you were really old school, you'd be alot more mature and
confident in who you are, and less apt to erratic behavior and responses.

Were you ever published in rolling stones magazine Jenn? I was. Most of
the security experts on both sides know me very well. That's not what I
would consider to be a small group. A simple google search on raid virus
writer would show you just how.. sadly, infamous that handle really is.
I don't think the readership base of the print edition of the rolling
stones is small either. I'm almost certain BD has read the online version
of it, since he referenced one of the comments. In all fairness to myself
tho, the reporter took posts from usenet (haha, like your friend BD) and
published those and her personal thoughts. I never accepted or did any
interview with her. In fact, when I found out who she was in the channel
I +kb'd her.
It's all history you just didn't know about is all.
The fact you've never heard of me until I signed onto your BBS isn't a
bad thing. It just tells me what little you know about the security
community. Which is alright. I'm not here to impress anyone anyhow. :)
You didn't know the difference between prepender, appender and cavity
infection, although they are well known, in the security world. Same with
me.
And just so you know, I didn't start out writing viruses or anything. I
was publishing things to BBSes before the net was even.. what you know as
the net. You just don't get out much I guess. :)

No, I don't. BD wanted me to trespass onto equipment I did not own or
have any access rights to, to obtain information on his behalf. It's not
wrong of me to deny his request.
My issue with you isn't the same as my issue with him. Your..
insequential, to be honest.

Respect? Jenn, twice I think now, you've tried to dismiss raid; which
is... amusing. The fact you never heard of me doesn't make my.. previous
activities any less meaningful. I made history. :)

Actually, Jenn. I'm not and never was a script kiddy. I was before them,
for sometime. http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/irok.shtml
Irok isn't the work of a script kiddy, Jenn. It's an executable file
infector, with worm capabilities, including irc exploitation.
I was credited with being the first vxer to native infect dos/win32
executables with the same code. I found an exploit vector in the way
windows parses the exe file header. I can go into details, but I know
I've probably already lost you at the url. *grin*
Do you want to try again Jenn?

Jenn, I worked for malwarebytes as an antimalware researcher. I developed
definitions to detect and remove without harm, trojans and various rogue
applications like antivirusxp2010. And some ... stupid utilities to
process malware samples and url lists.
None of it was done to harm people, as I did with my viruses. So no Jenn,
my statement stands, thanks.
Do I intimidate you or something? Seriously. You've tried to downplay my
"fame", practically even called me a script kiddy; I didn't write one
single macro virus in my whole career; not a one! :)

http://www.securelist.com/en/descriptions/old13993
this is a much better writeup on irok. They published the full song
lyrics. It has a few errors in it, as does the fprot one; namely the hard
disk being trashed. I didn't really trash the drive, I hit root and
renamed everything I found via *.* to high ascii characters; legal for
the filesystem, just not something you'd find on your keyboard.
Jenn, I'm not a script kiddy; I never was. I was writing legitimate
little utilities for years before I ever wrote my first virus. Things
just.. went, south bound for awhile from there. But, I pulled up and
didn't hit the cliff head on. And that's where I am today.

Jenn. I did move on, ten years ago. Your friend BD brought up my past,
not myself. I just decided out of the blue to provide more detailed
information about my past, is all. I'm not going to sit idly by as he
tries to undo the work I've done for the past ten years either.

Oh, I just can't help myself today. LOL!
Jenn, hun, I was the person responsible for the codebreakers.org website;
which .. hosted the infamous melissa virus written by Vicoden (he was a
friend of mine. lol, small world eh?). When melissa broke, remember the
16 year old? (haha, I've always looked young) the feds were looking for
in podunk kingsport, tn? (google if your memory is foggy, or you didn't
have cable or access to a newspaper at the time) That was me, Jenn.
HAHAHAHA.
Now, I've made 4 reponses to this one post of yours; telling you more and
more about me with each one. Do you know why I'm doing it? It's not to
brag; as I did that years ago and paid dearly for my actions.
Want to guess Jenn? What I could possibly be upto? :)

The new york times baby! I even made the new york times. Small group huh
Jenn? *grin*
Here's infosecs report: hehehe
http://www.infosecnews.org/hypermail/9904/1583.html
Lemme quote you some of the best:
"For investigators, breaking open the Melissa case had the effect of
bringing at least one hacker -- an unidentified man in his 20s who lives
near Kingsport, Tenn. -- to the attention of the FBI. Two months ago,
that man asked a young local Internet company called Global Connection
to host a Web site for him.
Dennis Halsey, the CEO and vice president of Global Connection, said he
did not think anything of the request at the time. In fact, Halsey did
not require any formal application and never checked to see what the Web
site was. Neither Halsey nor the FBI would release the man's name.
The site turned out to be Codebreakers.org -- one of the main places
that virus creators use to trade code. "We never imagined it to be
something this big, believe me," said Halsey, who described the man as a
computer wizard.
Halsey, who is not implicated in the case, said he knew the man only
because "it's a small town and everybody sort of knows each other." But
Halsey thought it was inconceivable that such a young man could be the
infamous VicodinES or another prominent virus maker. "I'm sure that he
is not the one who wrote the virus," Halsey said. "I mean, this is a
multinational organization, there are members everywhere. How could this
young kid be involved?"
You know, if Dennis had known my real name, he'd have sold my ass out for
sure. Wasn't until 1 year after all that shit went down than I ran across
him again.

Dustin ... a good majority of people never subscribed to Rolling Stones
magazine, and I've never even opened one since it's of little interest to me
and practically everyone I know of locally haven't read it, either. Only
the small group of people you refer to would care and possibly others who
were just curious. I don't care if you were famous to them, you're just a
man to me. What you used to do is interesting, but it has no influence on
me as to whether you're a good or bad person now. It was just a phase you
went through that you have outgrown.
> I don't think the readership base of the print edition of the rolling

So you have your 15 minutes of fame in that arena? Big deal? Well.. I'm
sure it was a big deal to you then... Did you know I used to be a
professional seamstress and made costumes for the Tulsa Ballet?? I did the
actually sewing for the principle dancers and one of the ballets I made the
costumes for.. those costumes were photographed and were on the cover of a
big magazine that people in the world of Arts enjoy reading. I've still got
the copy of it. :-) It was a big deal at the time, but umpteen years
later, it means nothing.

You aren't raid anymore... so I see no need to give the former YOU respect.
I am conversing with the present YOU, and that is the person I am treating

Downplay? I'm trying to tell you that you're not famous anymore... You're a
regular guy now. You had your 15 minutes of fame, but it's over, and you
seem to be living in the past and trying to survive on the accolades of the
past. You can't survive on past accomplishments in the now and in the
future. If you don't find a way to move on, it'll eat away at you.

Uhh.. Jenn, your misreading what I wrote. I never used the skillset of

I don't care what you used to do. How many times do I have to say that?
You aren't famous to me in any way, and I don't mean that as a put down...
I mean it as a reality. I'm not interested in being impressed by your past.
I'm interested in being impressed by who you have become today. I like
discussing techie stuff, but that's probably better to do on the spyware

interested in the utilities you wrote because I created one myself, albeit

Hardly.. Dustin ... a mother can't run her household, school her kids, run
her own business and have her head in the sand at the same time.
If you don't care, than why do you keep reading it and why do you continue
to comment? Just mark it as read and move on.
I find it fascinating, being married to a deep software engineer who was

He brought it all up for a very good reason. This is usenet, he's free to

you have often displayed a distinct lack of interest in facts, as they apply
to the present.

It was never an issue.
I have told Dustin repeatedly that I had never heard of him prior to him
joining my bbs. And it's a fact that he is known by only the people who
would care about what he did in the past. LOTS of people on planet Earth
could care less what he did, and I'm one of them. He has an issue with
needing people to validate him because of who he WAS, but who he WAS doesn't
mean alot to people when they want to know who he IS NOW.
Some people don't understand that living in the past doesn't help a person
live in the NOW, and it surely doesn't help them move on to living in the
future.

What I said is: "I don't care what you USED TO BE". I also said I'm
interested in who he is NOW.... that would be WHY I continue to read.

I never said you were as "has been" script kiddy. I've told you you weren't
famous to me and to people like me. Who you were is not important to me..
Who you ARE NOW is what counts, imo.
You always claim you haven't changed. It's something you say a lot. Yet
you somehow seem to be assuming that others change, and they change quite a
bit. I don't think that's a valid assumption.
So? Population stats in the US alone says there are 307,006,550 people as
of 2009 -- and the world population as of today is approx. 3,091,235,155
That means 306,006,550 do not subscribe to the Rolling Stones in the USA,
and worldwide 3,090,235,155 people don't subscribe.
I don't believe that to be a true statement. You seem to be assuming that
someone is living in the past, yet you don't know that. Who a person is,
how they grew, what they learned and who they learned it from has a lot to
do with who they are now.
Moving on doesn't mean forgeting or ignoring your past. There are some
things that are better left in the past, like bad relationships or
incidents, but people still learn from those things, and even those bad
things help shape a person.
She thinks BD is a big deal, everyone else sucks hind tit.

Again, you're assuming that his past plays no part in his present. I find
that to be almost impossible, for anyone. And actually, to dismiss what a
person has accomplished is pretty tacky. The people who know him may know
him for a variety of reasons, as is true of most people.
> Is there something wrong, in your view, with being proud of your

There are two main forms of pride ... bragging on oneself is one of them,
and having others brag on you is another. One causes a person heartache,
and the other results in humility.

That's pretty lame, don't you think? A lot of people read the magazine.
Just because you don't know any of them is meaningless.
You didn't answer the question. It was quite specific. You danced around
it, now I'm going to ask that you simply answer the very direct question.
Stating factual information about what a person has accomplished does not
automatically lead to the conclusion that they are bragging. That's an
assumption and/or judgement on your part.

Just scroll back up to the top and answer the first question.
More assumptions. I've seen no indication that anyone has a "strangle hold
on the past".

Minor technicality for you I suppose, but i'm going to say it anyway.
Programming, isn't scripting. My viruses were written in assembler and
asic v5, not visual basic script, nor macro scripting for .doc files.
Script is.. script, like a .bat or cmd file, or even.. javascript; but to
the true sense of the word, it's not actual programming.
There is a difference.

Jenn, you bought the BS from ASCII huh? I'm not here because I need
validation. If you want to be nitpicky, I was more than validated when I
was asked to work for malwarebytes. Yep, that's right, they asked me. I
didn't fill out any application or online form beforehand. My reputation
is what caused them to ask me Jenn. That would be, validation. Not the
nonsense posted here.
I post here because I choose to do so, I don't take BS from anyone and
will happily call anyone on it when they do post Bullshit. That's the
issue ASCII and I actually have. Don't drink all of the koolaid next
time, ok?
Likewise, we are all in a similar boat... I know more than you do about
something.. and vice versa.... We are all the same.

I'm not exactly sure who that is ... some people say it's pcbutts, and some
people say it isn't.. so I really don't know.

Good.. then you won't need to keep repeating it then.. right?

I'm glad you're here. :) Likewise.. I don't take bs from anyone either,
but I don't need to use the foul language to get my point across. That's
just me, tho.. it's not an expectation I have for anyone else.

Hey, love your sig.
Point of information: at the end of 2008, the world's population of humans
was 6,697,254,041.
hmmm I used a different reference for that figure..

Jenn (from Oklahoma)
It was quite succinct and nice. However, some people still won't get it.
Your reference must have been dated around 1960, then.

He's the fellow who laughingly told you I was in need of an ego boost
because I had low self esteem. You really shouldn't take that as a
serious notion of why I am here. He has no clue what I think about, what
I need or don't. He just doesn't think I'm the "good guy". He's been
saying for several years that I'm going to get someone with BugHunter. I
never did, so his only recourse now is to get suckers who don't know our
history (like you) to repeat his garbage as if it was.. Gospel.
That's why I'm such a hardass when it comes to details and information
Jenn. Without all of the details you can't help but make incorrect
assumptions about me and why I'm here.
ASCII is not however, pcbutts. pcbutts is a lieing code thief, ASCII is
someone I probably wronged with a virus years ago and has been stewing
over it ever since, waiting for me to "nail someone" with BugHunter.
Ya see Jenn, not everyone believed me at first when I said I wasn't
writing destructive code anymore. Many people in fact, thought If I
didn't already, I would later plant something in BugHunter to get
people.
None of that ever happened, so they have nothing else with substance to
try; aside from newbies who don't know any better buying and drinking
the "ego needs" koolaid he's been selling for a few months now.
You are one of the newbies Jenn in so far as my history goes.
As I said since I started posting here, it's the details which are
important. You didn't have the details here, but you have more of them
now. :)

I'm forced to repeat it, for the reasons stated above. Until you stop
drinking the koolaid and are able to form your own conclusions based on
all the evidence, not the BS people like to pretend is evidence. It's
not just you Jenn, if it helps. People are suckered every single day by
people they don't know, that they think are helpful.

I enjoy my usage of foul language. I could speak all nice and PC if
necessary, but that doesn't fit my personality. I don't believe in
putting icing on the cake or beating around the bush. If something needs
to be said, I'm going to say it. It may not be nice and softened for
what I like to call virgin ears, but.. hey, that's life.

I didn't need to know the details to believe that you don't do the vxer
thing anymore.

Dustin, I already believed you, so I really didn't need to know the details.

What you don't seem to understand is some people never grow past who they
used to be because they are so focused on what they used to be that they
can't let it go.

Of course all people don't do that, but some people do, and when they do,
