That little lady packs a punch! Did you see the flustered Dems flailing
their arms around in the air as they paced in circles on the floor,
dazed and confused, huzzaing and simpering loudly over the little
lady's scolding? Great theater!

The Demmies can dish it out but sure can't take it.

Is that why she asked to have her rant struck from the Congressional Record?

Schmidt later said her message did not apply to any one member of Congress
and asked to withdraw her statement from the Congressional Record.

She comes from the district next to mine. I'm blessed with Bush's buddy,
John Boner, uh..Boehner....sorry....as my congress idiot. She ran against
Paul Hackett, an Iraq war veteran, Captain in the army and a Democrat.
The seat was vacated when Bush appointed 'what-his-name' to be the US
trade representative. She was only able to beat Hackett with a very
narrow margin in a district that has been Republican forever. This is in
the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio. Southern Ohio has always been heavily
Republican and is Taft country (Howard, Robert, now governer Bob). Taft,
as you may have heard, now has approval ratings lower than Bush's and the
repugs are in big trouble in the state. Hackett is going to run for
DeWiner's seat next year if he wins the primary. He has some tough
competition from a N.Ohio congressman. The Northern part of Ohio is
heavily democratic.
Additionally, we have Ken Blackwell who will run for gov. and is under
somewhat of a cloud regarding the voting fraud allegations here last year
and his heavy promotion of the Diebold voting machines in the state.
(Diebold is an Ohio company whose president vowed to do "all he could" to
see that Bush was re-elected.) Blackwell is also from the Cincinnati
area. In a way, S.Ohio is more like N. Kentucky. It fringes Appalachia
and is heavily populated with southern evangelicals. While Blackwell is
African American, he has very little support in the general African
American community, except for the evangelicals. This all comes around to
how much support Bush's policies will have when the next election rolls
around. Schmidt is almost certain to go down to defeat for the
embarrasement that she brought to her district. Overall, the area has had
a high profile list of KIA in Iraq, as well as the distinction of having
the only MIA (Matt Maupin) in this war. Her remarks will not set well
with her constituents and she may lose in the primary. I think any half
way competent republican, if there are any, can knock her off before she
starts.

She's the Republicon who barely defeated a Gulf War veteran in 2004. Folks

'w' sez: "I continued flying with my unit for the next several years"

And Bush himself, in his 1999 autobiography, "A Charge to Keep," recounts
the thrills of his pilot training, which he completed in June 1970. "I
continued flying with my unit for the next several years," the governor
wrote.

But both accounts are contradicted by copies of Bush's military records,
obtained by the Globe. In his final 18 months of military service in 1972
and 1973, Bush did not fly at all. And for much of that time, Bush was all
but unaccounted for: For a full year, there is no record that he showed up
for the periodic drills required of part-time guardsmen.

Bush, who declined to be interviewed on the issue, said through a spokesman
that he has "some recollection" of attending drills that year, but maybe not
consistently.

If he is so respected then why does he have to be reminded by his
fellow marines such as Colonel Danny Bubp that he, as a good Marine,
should not be "cutting and running". He is embarrassing the Marine
Corps and his fellow Marines are pointing that out to him.

>

Colonel Danny R Bubp did.

MR. MURTHA introduced the following joint resolution...

"...Therefore be it Resolved
by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
That: Section 1. The deployment of United States forces
in Iraq, by direction of Congress, is... hereby terminated
and the forces involved are to be redeployed..."

Congresswoman Jean Schmidt responded: "Yesterday I stood at Arlington
National Cemetery attending the funeral of a young marine in my
district. He believed in what we were doing is the right thing and had
the courage to lay his life on the line to do it. A few minutes ago I
received a call from Colonel Danny Bubp, Ohio Representative from the
88th district in the House of Representatives. He asked me to send
Congress a message: Stay the course. He also asked me to send
Congressman Murtha a message, that cowards cut and run, Marines never
do. Danny and the rest of America and the world want the assurance from
this body - that we will see this through."

Idiot neo-con spin. Why does it bother you so much that Jean is a
chickenhawk and Murtha an honorable, distinguished war veteran? The
truth hurts. Deal with it.

So the answer is no. No, Jean Schmidt did not serve, yet she called

neo-con CHICKENHAWK.

It doesn't take any special oratorial skill to attack another house member
by violating the house rules about what can and can't be said. She opened
her mouth and spewed garbage and was called on it. She was forced to eat her
words later or face censure.

Once again, a Republican publically demonstrated she is a thug.

Wrong answers, try irrelevant questions. Regardless of what his rank
was while he was serving in Vietnam, toolbag, he attained the rank of
Colonel, while AWOL never served in Nam and never got past Lieutenant.

Mark Fox, what a tooljob.... <lol>

An oversight is failing to check a minor fact. Your argument -- your
ENTIRE ARGUMENT -- was that Bubp was in NAM, and therefore was not a
chickenhawk, and had the experience necessary to challenge Murtha.
Also, you implied that his experience somehow vindicated the remarks of
that stupid chickenhawk Republican from OH that you are blindly
defending.

Of course, now not only is your logic flawed, but your facts are fucked
too.

Do you always resort to homophobic references when you have nothing to

I don't recall anyone else claiming that Bubp was in Vietnam. He was
in the Marines and he was reminding Murtha that Marines don't cut and
run on their own troops. Ya dumb cunt.

That was no oversight. It was an outright lie. How the fuck do you
confuse the "Marine Corps" with "Vietnam"? Go on.... explain that with
a straight face... I need a good laugh this morning....

Bubp is a Marine and was reminding Murtha that Marines don't cut and
run. When you get done hyperventilating, go back and re-read the
thread.

The facts speak for themselves:

Lets explain this yet again for the dull turds in the group like Pvo.

Murtha was in the Marines and served in Vietnam. We haven't established
what rank he had while in Vietnam. Bubp was in the marines and sent a
message to Murtha through Jean Schmidt that Marines don't cut and run
on their troops.

We are getting really tired of explaining this to you over and over
again. try to pay attention ya dumb cunt.

Mr. Murtha introduced the following joint resolution...

"...Therefore be it Resolved
by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
That: Section 1. The deployment of United States forces
in Iraq, by direction of Congress, is... hereby terminated

Actually worse than that..... as has been reported on multiple
occasions... he campaigned for her IN UNIFORM. He was a featured
speaker on at least one occasion that was well-attended after being
widely promoted as a "support the troops" rally when in fact it was a
campaign rally for Schmidt. That is a violation of the Marine Corps
Uniform Regulations:

Chapter 11 (1.a.(2))

MCO P1020.34F
MARINE CORPS UNIFORM REGULATIONS

CHAPTER 11: LAWS AND DIRECTIVES

11002. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE DIRECTIVES PERTAINING TO UNIFORMS
1. Implementing 10 U.S.C. 772, the President, by Executive Order 10554
of 18 August 1954, delegated to the Secretary of Defense the authority
to prescribe regulations under which persons may wear the uniform. The
following excerpts from DoD Directive 1334.1 of 11 August 1969 outline
these regulations:

"a. Members of the Armed Forces (including retired members and members
of reserve components).

THE WEARING OF THE UNIFORM IS PROHIBITED UNDER ANY OF THE FOLLOWING
CIRCUMSTANCES:

(1) At any meeting or demonstration which is a function of, or
sponsored by an organization, association, movement, group, or
combination of persons which the Attorney Generalof the United States
has designated, pursuant to E.O. 10450, as amended as totalitarian,
fascist, communist, or subversive, or as having adopted a policy of
advocating or approving the commission of acts of force or violence to
deny others their rights under The Constitution of the United States,
or as seeking to alter the form of Government of the United States by
unconstitutional means.

(2) DURING OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE FURTHERANCE OF POLITICAL
ACTIVITIES, PRIVATE EMPLOYMENT OR COMMERCIAL INTERESTS, WHEN AN
INFERENCE OF OFFICIAL SPONSORSHIP FOR THE ACTIVITY OR INTERESTCOULD BE
DRAWN.

How to Report Violations:

If you identify someone who is improperly wearing a Marine Corps
uniform/awards/rank insignia, please contact the Inspector General for
the Marine Corps at (703)614-1349 or the Uniform Board at the
aforementioned phone number.

Gee.... you are a lazy sack aintchya? Why not ... oh I dunno... check
Murtha's bio? I mean he has only been in public life since the FORD
ADMINISTRATION ....

Congressman Murtha is so well-respected for his first-hand knowledge of
military and defense issues that he has been a trusted adviser to
presidents of both parties on military and defense issues and is one of
the most effective advocates for the national defense in the country.
He is ranking member and former chairman of the Defense Appropriations
Subcommittee, a Vietnam combat veteran and a retired Marine Corps
colonel with 37 years of service, a rare combination of experience that
enables him to understand defense and military operations from every
perspective.

He learned about military service from the bottom up, beginning as a
raw recruit when he left Washington and Jefferson College in 1952 to
join the Marines out of a growing sense of obligation to his country
during the Korean War. There he earned the American Spirit Honor Medal,
awarded to fewer than one in 10,000 recruits.

He rose through the ranks to become a drill instructor at Parris
Island and was selected for Officer Candidate School at Quantico,
Virginia.

He then was assigned to the Second Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North
Carolina. In 1959, Captain Murtha took command of the 34th Special
Infantry Company, Marine Corps Reserves, in Johnstown.

He remained in the Reserves after his discharge from active duty until
he volunteered for Vietnam in 1966-67, receiving the Bronze Star with
Combat "V", two Purple Hearts and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.

He remained in the Reserves until his retirement. This first-hand
knowledge of military and defense issues has made him a trusted adviser
to presidents of both parties and one of the most effective advocates
for the national defense in Washington. At the request of Presidents
and Speakers of the House, he served as chairman of delegations
monitoring elections in the Philippines, El Salvador, Panama and
Bosnia.

He was awarded the Navy Distinguished Service Medal by the Marine Corps
Commandant when he retired from the Marines.

Now... here's a question for you.... what combat experience does Bubp
have? Video games and campaign slander don't count.

Here's an interesting thing from his bio:

He graduated high school in 72.... and college in 78. We'll overlook
the fact it took this Einstein six year to get through college....
But what no one has explained is why he waited until well after the
fall of Saigon to enlist in the Marines.

He could have enlisted in 72 after he graduated.

Heck... the last Marine combat unit had already left Vietnam.....
the US Army headquarters in Vietnam were decommissioned....
the last US combat troops were gone shortly after he graduated...

He could have enlisted in 73 after they signed the Paris Peace Treaty.
Why didn't he?

He could have enlisted in 73 after the last remaining troops were
withdrawn.
Why didn't he?

He could have enlisted in 73 after they passed the War Powers Act
Why didn't he?

He could have enlisted in 74, a year after the last American died in
combat.
Why didn't he?

He could have enlisted in 74 after Ford refused to use military force.
Why didn't he?

He could have enlisted in 75 after Ford declared the US would not re
enter the war.
Why didn't he?

He could have enlisted in 75 after the last Marines deserted the
embassy in Saigon.
Why didn't he?

Once he joined the Marines in 78 .....

He could have signed up for duty in 81 and served in Lebanon.
Why didn't he?

He could have signed up for duty in 82 and served in Lebanon.
Why didn't he?

He could have signed up for duty in 83 and served in Lebanon.
Why didn't he?

He could have signed up for duty in 84 after they deserted Lebanon.
Why didn't he?

So many questions......

Fox is correct: He [Fox] is the /only/ one stupid enough to lie about
the fact that Bubp served in Nam in a vain attempt to make an illogical
point about Schmidt.

Let's break down his argument:

If he is so respected then why does he have to be reminded by his

fellow marines such as Colonel Danny Bubp that he, as a good Marine,
should not be "cutting and running". He is embarrassing the Marine
Corps and his fellow Marines are pointing that out to him.

Colonel Danny R Bubp did.

Did you?
------- End of forwarded message ---------

The question was:

Q: Did [Jean Schmidt] serve in Nam?

A: (Mark Fox) "Colonel Danny R Bubp did."

You have to admire the logic (and the veracity). Conclusion: Mark
Fox, the dumbest cunt.
